Description
Temperature monitor with built-in NB-IoT communication. It records the temperature data from the various inputs and the status of
the digital input and transmits it to the cloud (akonet.cloud). Both the configuration and monitoring of the data are carried out in the
cloud itself.
Display and analysis of the logged data
The logged data must be viewed and the device must be configured in the akonet.cloud portal.
The portal allows you to analyse the stored data using graphs, statistics and operating indicators. For more information visit akonet.
cloud.
Simplified declaration of conformity
AKO Electromecánica S.A.L. hereby declares that the AKO-59720 radio equipment (temperature monitor) complies with Directive
2014/53/EU.
The full text of the EU conformity declaration is available at the following internet address:

Cautions
-If the device is used without following the manufacturer's instructions, it may fail to meet its safety requirements. Only probes supplied by AKO should be used for the device to
operate correctly.
-The equipment should be installed in a place that is protected from vibrations, water and corrosive gases, where the ambient temperature does not exceed the value indicated in the technical
specifications.
-For the reading to be correct, the probe should be placed somewhere without heat sources other than the temperature to be measured or monitored.
-Avoid installing the device on metal walls or near devices that may cause radio emissions.
-AKO-59720 devices should NEVER be operated without installing the external antenna.
-This device must be installed in a place where it will remain at least 20 cm from any human body, to ensure that it complies with the requirements for human exposure to electromagnetic fields.
-This device is powered by a non-rechargeable battery; if it runs out it must be replaced with the AKO-58030 model. The spent battery must not be disposed of with house-
hold waste, it must be taken to a designated collection point. NEVER attempt to recharge the battery, puncture or strike the battery or immerse it in liquids or
throw the battery into a fire.
Installation
Installation conditions: Install the device away from draughts and condensation. Do not place it near to evaporators, condensers or other items that may produce electromagnetic
noise. If it is installed in a chamber, place it as close as possible to the door. If it is installed inside a cabinet or display case, place it as close as possible to its door.

If a probe is to be fixed to a metal conduit, use the supplied
cable ties to secure the probes, 2 cable ties for each probe.
Secure them tightly using pliers to pull the end of the cable
ties.

Activating the device
Before activating the device, make sure that there is sufficient coverage at the installation site. Activated devices cannot be
returned.
1. Log into akonet.cloud (you must be registered).
2. Register the new device by clicking on and following one of these two methods:
Manually enter the serial no. and the activation code that appear on the device's label.
Click on and capture the QR code on the device's label (requires the PC or mobile device being used to log into akonet.cloud to
have a camera).
3. Once both steps have been completed, activate the device by holding down the push-button for 9 seconds. The 3 indicator lights will flash.
4. Wait until the process has finished (approximately 3 min.). If the green LED lights up, transmission is OK and the device has been activated
correctly. If the red LED lights up, transmission has failed. The device will make 2 more attempts in the course of 1 hour and will try again
once a day. If the problem persists, check coverage in your area or change the location of the device.
Operation
Push-button (1)
Long press (> 9 sec.): Activates the initial start-up of the device. This should only be done after registering in akonet.cloud. When activated,
the 3 indicators flash and during transmission the blue indicator flashes.
Medium press (> 3 sec.): Triggers data transmission to akonet.cloud. When it wakes up, the 3 indicators flash and during transmission the
blue indicator flashes.
Short press (< 3 sec.): Displays the status of the battery with the green indicator:
ON: Battery OK.
Blinking: Low battery, replace as soon as possible.
Indicator lights
They display the status of the device only after a medium press (transmission triggered), the rest of the time they remain off.
RED (2)
Blinking: An operating error has been detected. After 3 seconds the indicator turns off.
Steady: The transmission could not be carried out; check the coverage. After 3 seconds the indicator turns off.
GREEN (3)
At the end of a transmission, it indicates the current level of coverage:
Steady: Good signal quality
Blinking: Average signal quality
Flashing: Poor signal quality
After 3 seconds the indicator turns off.
BLUE (4)
Blinking: Transmission in progress
Logging and sending data
The device is shipped from the factory in an inactive state, therefore it does not transmit or log any information until it is activated (see “Registering the device”).
Once active, the device logs the temperature, humidity, alarm and external probe temperature (depending on model) data at regular intervals. The time between each log is set with the “Data logger
interval frequency” option in the “Parameters / dlG - Data logger” section of akonet.cloud.
The logged data is sent to akonet.cloud when it meets one of the following criteria:
The time set in the "Transmission Interval to the cloud" option in the "Parameters/ nb - Narrow band" section has elapsed.
An alarm has been detected that is configured to trigger a transmission .
A transmission has been triggered by a medium press.
For more information on how akonet.cloud works and how to configure the device, see the online manual of akonet.cloud.
Digital input (black cable)
Connected to a volt-free contact, this input can be used to monitor a digital signal (door activity) or trigger an alarm when the input is activated (active on contact closure/active on contact opening).
This input must be configured in akonet.cloud according to the required application:
Option A: Each time the input is activated, it generates an event that is stored in the log.
Option B: The device reads the status of the input as if it were a temperature probe. The reading frequency is set using the “Continuous logging interval” parameter in akonet.cloud.
