GUIDANCE AND STEERING INSTALLATION GUIDE
This quick guide provides the installation instructions for the RS1™ on an ISO Rogator or TerraGator C series
machine. For calibration and operation information, refer to the Operation Manual (P/N 016-4010-001).
WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR AND VALVE CALIBRATION
To ensure proper operation, calibrate the Wheel Angle Sensor (WAS) and Steering Valve before calibrating RS1.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the machine’s hydraulic oil is warm prior to the steering valve calibration sequence.
1. Press Home on the joystick.

2. Select the Machine icon .
3. Select Home Settings .
4. Select Maintenance and Diagnostics .
5. Select Steering Calibrations .
6. Select Steering Angle Sensor Calibration . A Start steering angle sensor calibration prompt will open.
7. Press Accept .
NOTE: At any point press to stop the calibration process.
8. While moving slowly, turn the machine steering wheel all the way to the left.
9. Press Accept .
10. While moving slowly, turn the machine steering wheel all the way to the right.

11. Press Accept .
12. While moving slowly, drive straight to a point on the horizon.
13. Press Accept . WAS calibration is complete.
14. Press Accept .
15. Press Steering Valve Calibration .
16. While stationary, press Accept to Start steering valve calibration. The machine will automatically turn
slightly to the left and to the right.
17. Press Accept on the Calibration completed successfully prompt.

RS1 UNIT INSTALLATION
For RS1 to operate, the RS1 unit must be mounted on the cab roof. To install the unit:
1. Remove the four bolts that secure the roof cap to the cab frame.

2. Assemble the latch, plug, rubber washer, and latch nut through the latch hole on RS1 mounting plate.

3. Mount the RS1 base plate to the RS1 unit using the four bolts provided. It should be mounted so the mounting
tabs are to the right and the latch is to the left.

4. Assemble the four pieces of the RS1 roof bracket (as shown in Figure 6 on page 4). Use the eight provided 3/8”
x 1” bolts and lock washers to secure the assembly together.

5. Place the RS1 unit roof bracket on the cab with it oriented as shown in Figure 7 on page 5. The holes on the
corners of the roof bracket will line up with existing cab top mounting holes.

6. Secure the roof bracket and the top of the cab using the remaining hardware removed from the top of the cab
earlier.
7. Insert the two tabs on the RS1 mounting bracket into the roof bracket slot.
8. Insert the latch into the hole on the roof bracket and secure in place by pressing down on the handle.
NOTE: The latch may need to be adjusted to provide proper compression. To do this, tighten the nut on the
bottom of the latch.

9. Connect the 12-pin Deutsch connector on the 115-4010-002 cable to the mating receptacle on the RS1 unit.

10. Connect the bulkhead connector on the 115-4010-002 cable to the machine’s mating connector located on the
roof.

11. If applicable, connect the cellular antenna to the back of the RS1 unit and secure the antenna to the roof
bracket using the magnet attached to the antenna.
VIPER 4 AND VIPER 4+ ISO CONNECTION.
1. Locate the ISO harness at the back of the Viper 4.

2. Plug the round ISO connector into the back of the Viper 4.

3. Ensure the two 2-pin Deutsch ISO CAN connectors on the Viper 4 ISO CAN harness are connected to each
other and are not plugged into dust caps.

OPERATION
Refer to the RS1 Calibration and Operation Manual (P/N 016-4010-001) for instructions on configuring, calibrating,
and operating RS1. Please note the location of the master switch and the resume switch on the machine because
they are needed for operation.
