Blodgett infrared broilers broil in half the time with 1/3 less gas than ordi-
nary broilers. The burners reach operating temperature in just 90 seconds,
and their intense infrared energy quickly heats the food, not the surround-
ing air. The broiling grid adjusts to four heights, and rolls out for easy
access. A blower delivers fresh, filtered air to prevent smoke and vapors
from affecting broiling efficiency. A Model 171 has an overhead warming
oven heated by the broiler flue gases (or by an optional electric heating
element), while a Model 270 doubles the broiling capacity in the same floor
space by having a second broiling deck.

INFRARED FREE STANDING BROILERS
SHORT FORM SPECIFICATIONS
The item shall be a [single-deck | double-deck] infrared broiler [with an overhead warming oven]. The broiler burners shall total 104,000 BTU with separate controls. The front and sides
and back shall be constructed of 430 stainless steel #3 polish. The lining and burner boxes shall be fully insulated. The roll-out broiler grid shall be 24-1/2" wide and 27-1/2" deep and
have four height positions. The warming oven shall be 25" wide and 25" deep, and be heated by the broiler flue gases. The item shall have 6" adjustable legs [casters].

Exterior surfaces are 430 stainless steel #3 polish, except the back is aluminized steel.
The front 3" of the broiler grates receive less heat and so can be used as a holding area.
Check local codes for fire and sanitary regulations.
UTILITY INFORMATION
GAS: Each unit has a 3/4" rear gas connection with a male NPT connector. Minimum supply pressure is 7" W.C.
for natural gas, 11" W.C. for propane. An external pressure regulator and shut off valve must be provided. If using
a flexible-hose gas connection, the I.D. of the hose must not be smaller than the connector on the unit and must
comply with ANSI Z21.69. Provide an adequate means of restraint to prevent undue strain on the gas connection.
ELECTRICITY: All models have a 7-foot (2134 mm) power cord with a grounded plug to supply 50Hz or 60Hz sin-
gle-phase 120VAC electric power. *Units with the optional electric heating element for the warming oven also have
a terminal block for connection to a single-phase 208/240V source.
FLUE EXHAUST: Installation under a vented hood is recommended.
