This operator system may only be installed, connected and put into operation by qualified and trained professionals!
Qualified and trained specialist personnel are persons
- who have knowledge of the general and special safety regulations,
- who have knowledge of the relevant electro-technical regulations,
- with training in the use and maintenance of suitable safety equipment,
- who are sufficiently trained and supervised by qualified electricians,
- who are able to recognise the particular hazards involved when working with electricity,
Warranty
For an operations and safety warranty, the advice in this instruction manual has to be observed. Disregarding these
warnings may lead to personal injury or material damage. If this advice is disregarded, the manufacturer will not be
liable for damages that might occur.
Batteries, fuses and bulbs are excluded from warranty.
To avoid installation errors and damage to the door and operator system, it is imperative that the installation
instructions are followed. The system may only be used after thoroughly reading the respective mounting and
installation instructions.
The installation and operating instructions are to be given to the door system user, who must keep them safe.
They contain important advice for operation, checks and maintenance.
This item is produced according to the directives and standards mentioned in the Manufacturer's Declaration and in
the Declaration of Conformity. The product has left the factory in perfect condition with regard to safety.
Power-operated windows, doors and gates must be checked by an expert (and this must be documented) before they
are put into operation and thereafter as required, but at least once a year.
Correct use
The operator system is intended for opening and shutting roller shutters.
Beside the advice in these instructions, please observe the general safety and accident prevention regulations!

Information on installing the operator system
• When installing a new operator system for the first time (in connection with the installation of a roller shutter),
you must observe the safety instructions for the roller shutter in question.
• Render any installations inoperable that will no longer be needed after the operator system has been installed.
• Before commencing cabling works, you MUST disconnect the operator system from the mains supply.
Adhere to the safety period of 10 seconds to guarantee that the operator system is voltage free.
• Adhere to the local protection regulations.
• Lay the electricity supply cables and control cables; these MUST be laid separately. The controls voltage is 24 V DC.
• Install all the impulse transmitters and control devices (e.g. remote control buttons) within sight of the door and at a
safe distance from the moving parts of the door. A minimum installation height of 1.5 m must be observed.
• Ensure that no part of the door extends across public footways or roads when the installation is complete.
Information on commissioning the operator system
After initial operation, the persons responsible for operating the door system, or their representatives must be
familiarised with the use of the system.
• Make sure that children cannot access the door control unit.
• Before moving the door, make sure that there are neither persons nor objects in the operating range of the door.
• Test all existing emergency command devices.
• Never insert your hands into a running door or moving parts.
Information on servicing the operator system
To ensure proper operation, the following items must be checked regularly and repaired if necessary. Before any works
to the door system are undertaken, the operator system must be disconnected from the mains.
• Check once a month to ensure that the operator system reverses if the door encounters an obstacle. Depending on
the operational direction of the door, place a 50 mm high/wide obstacle in its path.
• Check all movable parts of the door and operator system.
• Check the door system for signs of wear or damage.
Information on cleaning the operator system
Never use water jets, high pressure cleaners, acids or bases for cleaning.

mounting, carry out the following
checks before installing.
Supply package
• Check the package to ensure that all the parts are
included.
5. Preparation for mounting
5.1 General notes
The instructions describe the following installation
situations:
- First time installation of a new operator system
(in connection with the installation of a new roller
shutter).
The pictures in these instructions are not true-to-scale.
Dimensions are always given in millimetres (mm)!
The operator system can be installed on the left or the
right hand side of the shutter.
The operator side may be predetermined on site by the
dimensions of the sleeve shaft in the roller curtain.
In this instruction manual, the installation is shown on
the right hand side.
Reference:
When installing a new operator system
for the first time (in connection with
the installation of a roller shutter),
you must observe the shutter
manufacturer’s safety instructions.

Advice:
Motor units with an emergency hand
chain on the right hand side must be
installed on the inside of the door on
the right hand side.
Advice:
Fixing materials and feather keys are
not included in the package.
• Check that you have all the necessary accessories
and parts required for your particular installation
situation:
- Motor console
- Pedestal bearings
- Feather keys
- Fixing materials
- Junction box
(if an existing control unit is to be used)
Installation site
• Check to ensure that the installation site has a
suitable mains connection.
Motor unit
Check
- whether the motor unit has a long enough cable for
the shutter,
- whether the shaft end fits perfectly into the sleeve
shaft of the motor unit,
- whether the feather key fits in the sleeve shaft and
the motor unit.

6.1 Mounting the consoles
6.1.1 / 1
Attention!
In order to guarantee proper operation
of the roller shutter, the consoles must
be mounted in such a way that the
winding shaft of the shutter curtain
runs horizontally.
A Difference in height of the consoles
The height difference is determined by the
different dimensions of the pedestal bearing
and the motor unit.
B Distance from centre of winding shaft to
floor
If the shutter and motor unit are to be installed
at the same time, this dimension is specified by
the manufacturer of the roller shutter.
If the motor unit is being replaced, the distance
must be the same as the previous distance.
C Distance between the consoles
The distance between the consoles is
dependent on the length of the winding shaft.
D Distance from centre of winding shaft to
guide rail
If the shutter and motor unit are to be installed
at the same time, this dimension is specified by
the manufacturer of the roller shutter.
If the operator is being replaced, the distance
must be the same as the previous distance.
E Distance of console from doorway opening
The distance of the console from the doorway
opening is dependent on the position of the
shutter curtain on the winding shaft.

6.1.2 Screw the consoles in place
• Determine the mounting position of the consoles.
• Screw the consoles in place.
Attention!
To guarantee the proper operation of
the shutter system, the consoles must
comply with the installation
specifications.
Caution!
In order to prevent the shutter curtain
from falling, screw fixings must be used
that support the weight of the shutter
curtain securely.
• Check whether the existing consoles (if applicable)
meet the installation specifications.
If the mounting positions do not correspond exactly,
the consoles must be adjusted.
Caution!
To avoid injury, it is imperative that you
observe the following:
- The shutter curtain must be placed on
the consoles with the help of a
suitable installation aid (e.g. forklift
truck with appropriate working load).
- The shutter curtain must be secured in
position (e.g. to prevent it from
turning right over).
6.2 Install the motor unit

• Grease the shaft pins of the motor unit and the
bearing.
• Place the feather keys in the grooves of the sleeve
shaft.
• Push the pedestal bearing and the motor unit onto
the roller shutter curtain.
• Place the roller shutter curtain with the pedestal
bearing and motor unit onto the consoles.

Attention!
For correct installation, the sleeve shaft
and the pedestal bearing must be
positioned so that the distance (D) from
the guide rail is identical.
• Adjust the positions of the motor unit and pedestal
bearing.
• Screw the motor unit to the console.
• Screw the pedestal bearing to the console.
• Remove the red stopper at the back of the operator.

Attention!
To avoid damaging the motor unit,
- the red stopper on the back of the
operator must be removed,
- the opening must be protected from
water and dirt.
Advice:
The operator motor is ventilated via this
opening.
Before carrying out the following installation steps, the
roller shutter must be properly installed in accordance
with its installation instructions.

• Mount the controls near to the shutter.
• Connect the controls to the motor unit.
• Connect the controls to the mains power supply.
Caution!
During cabling works, the mains cable
must be at zero voltage.

6.3 Mounting the controls
6.3.1 Mounting a new control unit
Attention!
To ensure proper operation of the
controls,
- the circuit diagrams for the motor unit
and the controls must be taken into
consideration,
- for protection grade IP 65 an
appropriate plug-in connection must
be selected,
- for a fixed connection to the mains
power supply, a universally poled
mains switch must be installed.
Motor unit with emergency hand chain
• Secure the emergency hand chain at the side of the
door.

6.3.2 Connect an existing control unit
• Install a junction box.
• Connect the motor cable to the junction box.
• Connect the existing cable to the junction box.
Caution!
During cabling works, the mains cable
must be at zero voltage.
Reference:
For the cabling, the instructions in
Sections 8.1 and 8.2 must be observed.
For the operation of the controls, the
instructions for the controls must be
followed.

6.4 Emergency manual operation
Caution!
To avoid injury, the following points
must be observed:
- The emergency manual operation may
only be carried out from a safe
standing position.
- The mains supply cable must be at
zero voltage.
Attention!
To ensure proper operation of the
controls,
- the circuit diagrams for the motor unit
and the controls must be taken into
consideration,
- for protection grade IP 65 an
appropriate plug-in connection must
be selected,
- for a fixed connection to the mains
power supply, a universally poled
mains switch must be installed.
Advice:
If the shutter is moved beyond the
door OPEN or CLOSED positions, the
power supply remains disconnected.
(Emergency positioning switch
OPEN/CLOSE).
In the case of an electrical fault or power cut, the
shutter can be moved in the OPEN or CLOSE directions
with the help of the emergency operation facility.

Activate the emergency hand chain function:
• Pull on the red chain handle (A).
The shutter can now be opened or closed using the
emergency hand chain.
Deactivate the emergency hand chain function:
• Pull on the green chain handle (B).
• Secure the emergency hand chain at the side of the
shutter.
The shutter may now be operated electrically.

• Release the emergency hand chain from its fixing.
6.4.2 Operation using the emergency hand chain
Advice:
The shutter cannot be moved until
the crank is engaged in the end of
the motor unit shaft.
The motor unit is cut out electrically.

Activate the emergency manual operation:
• Remove the crank from its fixing on the motor unit.
• Insert the crank into the shaft of the motor unit with
a slight turning movement.
OPEN the shutter:
• Turn the crank clockwise.
CLOSE the shutter:
• Turn the crank anti-clockwise.
Deactivate the emergency manual operation:
• Pull the crank out of the motor unit.
The shutter may now be operated electrically.
• Push the crank back into its fixing on the motor unit.

Advice:
The path of the drive chain (A + B) is
restricted by guide rings. If it is not
possible to activate or deactivate the
function, the chain guard (with the
drive chain) must be turned once on
its axis.

can only function in connection with
a special control unit.

The emergency positioning switches serve as a safety
device.

The positioning switches switch off the shutter when it
reaches the end position.
S11 OPEN positioning switch (green cam)

Positioning switch for CESD-STOP
The CESD-STOP positioning switch allows for the
connection of a closing edge safety device.

7.2 Overview of the control cams7.1 Check the rotational direction

Section 6.5 must be observed for
emergency operation.
For the controls, the relevant
instruction manual must be observed.

• Using the emergency manual operation facility, move
the shutter to an intermediate position.
• Deactivate the emergency manual operation facility.
• Switch on the power supply.
• Press the OPEN button on the control unit.
The shutter moves in the OPEN direction.
The rotational direction has been set correctly.
The shutter moves in the CLOSE direction.
• Change the rotational direction.
Attention!
To prevent the controls from being
damaged, it is imperative that you
observe the following points:
- The positioning switches in the switch
groups S11 - S15 must all be supplied
by the same voltage.
- The positioning switches in the switch
groups S9 - S9a must all be supplied
by the same voltage.
ADD-ON positioning switch
The ADD-ON positioning switch allows for the
connection of additional devices.

• Open the cover of the positioning control cams (A).
• Drive the shutter electrically to the desired CLOSED
shutter position.
• Drive the shutter just a fraction beyond the CLOSED
shutter position.

7.3 Setting the CLOSED shutter position
The emergency CLOSE positioning control cam (S9a,
red cam) must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the emergency CLOSE position by tightening the
fixing screw (B) on positioning control cam S9a.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).
• Using the emergency hand operation facility, move
the shutter back to the desired CLOSED shutter
position.
The CLOSE positioning control cam (S13, green cam)
must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the CLOSED shutter position by tightening the
fixing screw (B) on positioning control cam S13.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).
Attention!
Before the OPEN/CLOSED shutter
positions have been set, the shutter can
be driven electrically beyond the shutter
positions, which could result in damage.
Advice:
The switching interval between the
activation of the emergency positioning
switch and the activation of the
positioning switch must be as short as
possible, (the operating temperature of
the motor unit can cause the shutter to
be driven beyond the CLOSED shutter
position).

• Drive the shutter electrically to the desired OPEN
shutter position
• Drive the shutter just a fraction beyond the OPEN
shutter position
The emergency OPEN positioning control cam (S9,
red cam) must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the emergency OPEN position by tightening the
fixing screw (B) on positioning control cam S9.
Caution!
Before the OPEN/CLOSED shutter
positions have been set, the shutter can
be driven electrically beyond the shutter
positions, which could result in damage
or injury due to the bottom end of the
shutter curtain turning over the roll.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).
• Using the emergency hand operation facility, move
the shutter back to the desired OPEN shutter position.
The OPEN positioning control cam (S11, green cam)
must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the OPEN shutter position by tightening the fixing
screw (B) on positioning control cam S11.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).
Advice:
The switching interval between the
activation of the emergency positioning
switches and the activation of the
OPEN/CLOSE positioning switches must
be as short as possible, (the operating
temperature of the motor unit can
cause the shutter to be driven beyond
the OPEN shutter position).

7.6 Setting the ADD-ON positioning
switch

• Drive the shutter electrically to the desired CLOSED
shutter position.
• Open the shutter by not more than 40 mm.
The CESD-STOP positioning control cam (S14, black cam)
must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the position by tightening the fixing screw (B) on
positioning control cam S14.
Check to ensure that it functions correctly.
• Drive the shutter in the OPEN direction.
• Drive the shutter in the CLOSE direction, with an
obstacle (not taller than 40 mm) placed in its path.
The system should stop.
The reversing function is deactivated when the switch
is depressed.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).

• Drive the shutter electrically to the desired position.
The ADD-ON positioning control cam (S15, white cam)
must be in the following position:
The positioning control cam activates the switch.
• Fix the position by tightening the fixing screw (B) on
positioning control cam S15.
Check to ensure that it functions correctly.
• Drive the shutter in the opposite direction
• Drive the shutter to the desired position.
The system should carry out the desired operation.
Fine adjustments can be made with the socket head
screw (C).
