INSTALLATION
Dealing with sides, cross-rails and back-panels in cabinetry
Dependingonthecabinets,theworktopthicknessandthehobpositioning,itispos-
sibleforthehobbase,theclampbracketsand/orthegasconnectiontointerferewith
parts of the cabinet. These can be dealt with as follows:
Cabinet sides
Ifthehobistobeinstalledacrossthetopoftwocabinethousingunits,thenthebase
of the hob may interfere with the sides of these units. It will be necessary to cut away
thetopoftheunitsideslocallytoclearthehob,clampbracketsand/orgasconnection.
Cross-Rails
1. Interferencewithhobbase:Ifthereareanycross-railswhichobstructthehobbase
byrunningacrosstheworktopcutout,theycansimplyberemovedorlocallycut-
awaytoallowthehobtobeinstalled,dependingontheparticularinstallation.Any
modicationsmustensurethatthestrengthofthecabinetismaintained.
2. Interferencewithclampbrackets:Ifthereareanycross-railswhichpreventthe
clampsfrombeingpositionedonthefrontorrearedgesofthehob,thentheycan
beremovedorlocallycut-awayaroundthebracketstoallowthebracketstobe
installed.Anymodicationsmustensurethatthestrengthofthecabinet
is maintained.
Back-panel
1. Interferencewithclampbrackets:Ifthecabinethasaback-panelwhichprevents
theclampsfrombeingpositionedontherearedgeofthehob,thenthispanelcan
be completely removed or locally cutaway to allow the brackets to be installed.
2. Interferenceorrestrictionofgasconnection.Ifthecabinethasaback-panelwhich
interfereswiththepositionofthegassupplytothehob,thenthepanelcanbe
completelyremovedorlocallycut-awaytoallowconnectiontothegassupply.
Stone (Granite or equivalent) work tops
Dependingonthetypeofworktopbeingused,theremayormaynotbeanybacking
material to screw the clamp screws into.
1. Iftheworktopisacompositetype(backedwithMDForsimilar)theremaybe
enough backing to screw directly into. This will depend on the work top thickness
andbackingthicknessandwillhavetobeassessedattheinstallation.Inthiscase,
install the hob as for a standard work top.
2. Ifthereisinsufcientbackingmaterialtoscrewinto,oriftheworktopiscomplete-
lysolidinconstruction,thenitwillbenecessarytoglueastripofwood,MDF,bre
boardorsimilartotheundersideoftheworktop,alongthefrontandrearedges
ofthecutout.Useastrong,proprietaryadhesivetobondthesestripsandallowto
cure before attempting to clamp the hob into position.
Connect gas hob to gas supply
The inlet is at the rear RHS of the hob. The hob may be connected to the gas supply
eitherbyrigidpipeworkorexibleconnection.
