drip tray
The drip tray accessory is used to collect the water from the outdoor
unit’s heat exchanger during defrosting and transport it to a suit-
able location. In order to avoid the water freezing in the drip tray, it is
equipped with an electric coil.
Components
The drip trays accessory set contains the following components:
1 x Drip tray
1 x Transformer
3 x M6 screws
1 x Relay set containing:
1 x Terminal block 125
1 x Relay K5, Phoenix
1 x Relay K6, Carlo Gavazzi
1 x Cable set:

Summary
The drip tray is fitted to the outdoor units stand•
The transformer is suspended from the stand’s cross stay•
The outlet pipe/hose is fitted•
The relay set is fitted to the heat pump•
Electrical connection to heat pump and outdoor unit•
Before any electrical work commences, the power supply must
be turned off using the safety switch.
Fitting the drip tray
1. Unpack the drip tray and check that all the components have
been delivered.
2. Fit the drip tray from the rear of the outdoor unit.
3. Turn the drip tray so that the pre-drilled holes in the stand line
up with the drip tray’s screw holes.
4. Lift the drip tray into place.

Fitting a transformer
6. Suspend the transformer from the stands cross stay.
Figure 4: Transformer.
Fitting an outlet pipe/hose
7. If necessary, place a heating cable in the outlet pipe/hose (deliv-
ery does not include a heating cable).
8. Connect the outlet pipe/hose to the outlet in the bottom of the
drip tray.
9. Lead the outlet pipe/hose away to a suitable location.

Fitting the relay set to the heat pump
The relay set ensures that there is no re-freezing in the drip tray once
defrosting has finished.
The K6 relay has three setting options on the front, where you can
adjust the relay’s function, time and range.
Dr (FUNCTION) stands for “Delay on release”, which means that the
power feed is maintained while you are adjusting the two other set-
tings.
TIME represents how many time units are counted before the power is
interrupted.
RANGE represents how long a unit will last.

3 Relay K5, Phoenix
4 Relay K6, Carlo Gavazzi
10. Fit the terminal block and the two relays in the positions shown
in the figure above.
11. Set relay K6 to default setting as per the figure below:
Figure 6: Default setting for relay K6.
This setting means that the power will be maintained for 0.5 hours (5 x
0.1h) once defrosting has finished.
Electrical connection to the heat pump
12. The electrical connection to the heat pump is made using the
attached cable set and the junction clamps, as per the wiring
diagram, figure 7. (The cables have the equivalent marking
where they are to be connected.)

13. Loosen and remove the outdoor unit’s side panel.
14. Feed the transformer cable into the outdoor unit’s connection
box.
15. Connect the transformer cables to the neutral terminal block
(N/220) and terminal block 126.
16. If required, feed through the heating cable for the outdoor
unit’s connection box.
17. Connect the heating cable’s cables to the neutral terminal block
(N/220) and terminal block 127.
18. Connect a 230V supply from terminal block 125 in the heat
pump to terminal block 125 in the outdoor units connection
box.
19. Replace the side panel.
