4. Connecting to the mains

Connectthemainsleadtoawallsocket.Checkthatthevoltage(V),ontherating

plateonbackofthedevicecorrespondstoyourlocalelectricalnetwork(230VAC,

50Hz).Consultyourretaileroraservicecentreiftherearedifferences.

Tocompletelyshutoffthepower:Pullouttheplugfromthewallsocket.Thedevice

should also be unplugged during heavy thunder storms to protect the stereo.

5. Speakers

ConnectthespeakerstotheSPEAKERSconnections(17)onthebackofthe

device.Connecttherightspeakertotheoutletmarked“R”andtheleftspeakerto

theoutletmarked“L”.

6. AUX in

Connectthedevice(notincluded)totheAUXinjack(10).

7. Operation

1. Connecttheplugtothewallsocket.

2. Selectafunction:CD,AUX,AMorFMusingthefunctionselector(1).

3. Adjustthevolumeusingthevolumecontrol(14).

4. TurnoffthestereobyswitchingittotheOFF position.

8. Listening to the radio

1. Selectthebandfrequency(AM/FM)usingthefunctionswitch(1).

2. Setthedesiredfrequencyusingthetunercontrol(6).TheFMStereo(FMST)

indicatorlightwillcomeonwheneveryoundastationwithgood

stereo reception.

3. Adjustthevolumeusingthevolumecontrol(14).

Getting the best reception:

AM: Thestereohasabuilt-inferriteaerialforAMreception.Ifreceptionisweak,

move or rotate the stereo for better reception.

FM:Foldouttheaerialandplaceitvertically.Experimentuntilyoundthe

best position.

9. Listening to a CD

1. OpentheCDcompartmentbypushingtheCDdoordownontheOPEN/CLOSE

marking.AclickwillbeheardandtheCDdoorwillopen.

2. PlaceaCD(AudiodiscorCD-R/CD-RW)withthelabelsideupwardsinthe

CD compartment.

3. OpentheCDcompartmentbypushingtheCDdoordownontheOPEN/CLOSE

marking.AclickbeheardwhentheCDdoorcloses.

4. Select CDusingthefunctionselector.Thedisplaywillbrieyshow“---”.

5. Afteramomentthetotalnumberoftrackswillshowonthedisplay.

6. Press[PLAY/PAUSE](13)tostartplayback.Thersttrackshouldbeginplayback.

7. Pausingplayback:Press[PLAY/PAUSE](13).Thecurrenttracknumberwill

ashonthedisplay.Press[PLAY/PAUSE]againtocontinueplayback.

8. Press[STOP](10)oncetostopplayback.

N.B. TheCDplayerwillalsostopwheneveryou:OpentheCDdoor,select

AM-FMastheaudiosourceoroncetheCDhasnishedplayback.

9.1 Selecting a different track

1. During playback or in pause mode you can use [] or [](11)toselect

another track.

2. Press[](11)brieytomovetothenexttrack,orpresstherequirednumber

oftimesuntilthedesiredtracknumberisshowninthedisplay.

3. Press[](11)brieytoreturntothecurrenttrack.Presstherequirednumber

of times to return to a previously desired track.

20trackscanbeplayedinanydesiredorder.Youcanalsoprogrammethesame

track more than once.

1. Instopmodepress[PROG](7).ThedisplaywillshowPOIand”PROG”will

beginashing.

2. Selectthetracknumberwith[] or [](11).Whenadesiredtrackisdisplayed

press[PROG](7)oncetostorethetrack.

3. Toaddmoretrackstotheplaylistrepeatsteps1and2.Youmayprogrammein

upto20tracks.

4. Press[PLAY/PAUSE](13)tostartplaybackofyourprogrammedplaylist.

5. Select playback lists using [] or [](11).

9.3 Erasing playlists

Youcaneraseplaylistsby:Pressing[STOP](12)instopmode,selectingAM-FM

asanaudiosourceorbypressing[STOP](12)duringplaybackorwhenthestereo

is in stop mode.

9.4 Repeated playback

Push[REPEAT](9)toactivaterepeated

playback.

• Press[REPEAT](9)oncetoactivatethe

REPEATfunction.Thiswillrepeatthe

currenttrackcontinuously.”REPEAT”will

showonthedisplay.

• Press[REPEAT](9)twicetoactivatethe

9.5 Random playback

Press[RANDOM](8)toplayalltracks.“RANDOM”willshowonthedisplay.

• Press[RANDOM](8)toplayalltracksinrandomorder.

• Playbackwillcontinueuntilalltrackshavebeenplayed.

• Stoppingrandomplayback:Press[RANDOM](8)once.”RANDOM”should

dissappear from the display.

8. Care and maintenance

Useasoft,dryclothtocleantheplayer.Donotusecleaninguidswhichcontain

alcohol,ammonia,petrolorabrasivesthatcancausedamagetothecasing.

9. Proper handling of the CD player and CDs

• The CD player’s lens must not be touched!

• Sudden changes in the surrounding temperature can cause condensation and

thelenstobecomeobstructedwithmoisture.Insuchcasesitisimpossibleto

play a CD.

• Donottrytodryoffthelens.Instead,letthedevicestandinawarmroomuntil

the moisture has evaporated naturally.

• AlwaysclosetheCDdoortokeeptheCDcompartmentdust-free.Useasoft,

dryclothtoremovedustfromtheCDcompartmentwhenneeded.

• IftheCDneedstobecleaneditcanbecleanedwithasoft,lint-freecloth,

wipinginastraightlinefromthemiddleoutwardstowardstheedge.

Do not use cleaning liquids as it can damage the CD.

• Never attach stickers to the CD.
