Caution for USB Device

• Do not connect a USB device directly to this unit.

If the USB device is connected directly to this unit

and an accident occurs, or if the brakes are applied

suddenly, the driver or passenger may bump into the

USB device and may get injured.

• Position the USB device and USB extension cable/

optional adaptor so that they do not obstruct your

driving.

• Do not connect any USB device other than USB

memory or a USB audio player. Do not connect

multiple USB devices to the USB connector. Drawing

power for multiple USB devices from the connector

could cause overheating and smoking.

• This unit plays back MP3/WMA/AAC ﬁ les stored on a

USB memory.

• Back-up any important data beforehand. We cannot

accept responsibility for any lost data.

• Refer to the section on “Compatible USB devices” (

Operating Instructions)

• The ﬁ le for the play time to exceed 1 000 minutes will

not play correctly to the end of the track.

• Connect your USB device to your car audio using a

standard USB extension cable. It is recommended to

use a 2 m or shorter USB 2.0 cable.

• USB Mass Storage Class

This refers to a type of USB device, that when

connected to the PC can be used as a storage device

without the need for specialized drivers or software.

For details as to whether your USB memory/USB Audio

is compatible with USB Mass Storage Class, please

contact the USB memory/USB Audio manufacturer.

Notes for USB DeviceNotes for iPod

• Back-up any important data beforehand. We cannot

accept responsibility for any lost data.

• When an iPod is connected to this unit, operation from

the iPod itself will not be available.

• The iPod will be recharged while connected to this unit.

• Do not leave your iPod for long periods of time in an

area of your vehicle that can become hot.

• Also read the instruction manual provided with your

iPod.

• Make sure to disconnect your iPod after turning off the

car engine (turning the ACC to OFF). The iPod may not

shut down while still connected, which may result in

battery depletion.

• If your iPod is not working correctly, disconnect it from

this unit, reset it and then reconnect it to this unit.

• Do not connect iPod accessories such as the remote

controller or headphones while the iPod is connected to

this unit. Doing so may cause the iPod to not operate

correctly.

Compatible USB devices

Notes:

• The use of USB devices that data ﬁ les other than MP3/

WMA/AAC format stored is not recommended.

• Playback or display may not be possible depending

on the type of USB device or the condition of the

recording.

• Even if PC playback is possible, it may not be

possible on this product, because some USB devices

are not compliant with the USB standard.

• Even with a USB device in the Mass Storage Class,

playback may not be possible in some cases.

to select the CD changer mode.

The unit recognizes the magazine and starts

playing automatically.

Getting Started

It is required to sign up to become an XM Satellite Radio

subscriber. After checking your XM Satellite Radio ID,

• Check the ID shown by tuning your XM Radio to

to the cellular phone without requiring any veriﬁ cation

operations from the phone by setting this unit as an

“Authorized device” (wording will differ according to

cellular phone) in the cellular phone.

Basic Operation

Answering an Incoming Call

If a call comes in to the cellular phone when it is

connected to this unit, the unit automatically switches to

the Bluetooth

Hands-Free mode and the ring tone for

the incoming call is output from the speakers.

To accept an incoming call:

Press [1][6] or [BAND] on this unit or [Hang-on]

on the CY-BT200U.

• When the phone number can not be acquired,

• The ring tone may differ from the one that is set in the

To End a Call

To end a call:

Rejecting an Incoming Call

To reject an incoming call:

Press [SRC] on this unit or [Hang-up] on the CY-

Note: Some cellular phones answer calls even when

operating to reject an incoming call above.

Making Calls from the Incoming Call

Press [SRC] to select the Bluetooth

mode.

If the Bluetooth Audio mode is

• “UNKNOWN” is displayed if a telephone number

• The incoming call history shows only calls made over

the Bluetooth connection. The incoming call history of

the cellular phone itself cannot be displayed.

Troubleshooting

If You Suspect Something Wrong

Check and take steps as described below.

If the described suggestions do not solve the problem, it is

recommended to take the unit to your nearest authorized

Panasonic Servicenter. The product should be serviced only by

qualiﬁ ed personnel. Please refer the checking and the repair to

professionals. Panasonic shall not be liable for any accidents

arising out of neglect of checking the unit or your own repair

after your checking.

Never take measures especially those other than indicated by

italic letters in “Possible solution” described below because

those are too dangerous for users to handle themselves.

Warning

• Do not use the unit in an irregular condition, for example,

without sound, or with smoke or a foul smell, which can

cause ignition or electric shock. Immediately stop using

the unit and consult your dealer.

• Never try to repair the unit by yourself because it is

dangerous to do so.

 Use a USB device with a FAT12/16/32 ﬁ le system.

The current consumption of the USB device exceeds 500 mA.

 Use a USB device with a current consumption lower than 500 mA.

“READING” is

displayed but music is

not played back.

A USB Hub is connected.

 Do not use a USB Hub.

A number of recorded folders/ﬁ les.

 When there are a number of recorded folders/ﬁ les, it may take a long time

to read all of the ﬁ les.

USB (MP3/WMA/AAC)

No disc is in the CD Changer (magazine).

 Insert discs into the CD changer (magazine).

The changer has become disconnected from the unit in the changer mode.

 Verify the wiring.

Note: Messages in the action and display sections of the error chart vary with changer. Refer to the operating

instructions for the CD changer for details.

XM Satellite Radio Control

foreign material.

No operation by some cause.

 Switch the power or ACC ON/OFF. If this does not solve the problem, unplug

the power cord and plug it in again. In case the unit is still out of order,

consult your dealer. (

The player for some reason cannot read the ﬁ le you are trying to play. (File

recorded in an unsupported ﬁ le system, compression scheme, data format, ﬁ le

name extension, damaged data, etc.)

 Conﬁ rm that the USB extension cable is ﬁ rmly connected, and reconnect if

not. Select a ﬁ le that the player can read. Check the type of data stored in

the USB memory. Format the USB memory if necessary.

a selected broadcast. The display appears also while the connections are being

checked after the power has been turned on.

 Wait until getting out of the unreceivable area or completing the decoding.
