1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a LUTEC product. With LUTEC`s FM
Transmitter FM 15 you can send your music from an audio source
wireless to your car radio or hi-fi system. You just have to plug in the
FM-15 into the earphone connector of your MP3-Player or iPod.
Afterwards set up your car radio or hi-fi system on a free FM frequency
and choose the same frequency on your FM-15 and yet you can listen to
your favourite music in full stereo sound wireless.
With LUTEC`s FM-15 you can send audio data wireless within 5 metres.
You will reach the best results within 3 metres. The use of LUTEC`s
FM-15 is in accord with EU standard (CEPT) for Band II Low Power
Devices and Vfg 7 / 2006 of German Bundesnetzagentur.
2. Safety Instructions
Please read carefully through the following information concerning
safety and proper use. Make yourself familiar with all functions of the
device.
Keep this manual on a safe place for future use.
Do not replace batteries in a potentially explosive atmosphere. Contact
sparking may occur while installing or removing batteries and cause
explosion.
Never throw batteries or rechargeable batteries in fire as they may
explode.
Keep batteries away from small children
Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Do not dispose as
household waste.
Caution: Please do not try to charge non-chargeable batteries with
your FM-15. Otherwise you will damage your device and the LUTEC
service warranty will not apply.
3. Cleaning and maintenance
To clean the unit wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water. Don’t use
a cleaner or solvent on the unit, they can damage the case and leak
inside, causing permanent damage.
Battery contact may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
If the unit get wet, turn it off and remove the batteries immediately. Dry
the battery compartment with a soft cloth to minimize potential
damage.

Leave the cover off the battery compartment overnight or until
completely dry. Do not use the unit until completely dry.
4. Disposal of the device ( Environment)
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product into
the regular household garbage but brings the product to a collection point
the recycling of electrical and electronics equipments. The symbol on the
product, user guide and/or box indicates this.

7. Installation instruction
At first please pull off the protection film from your FM Transmitter
display. The rechargeable batteries will be ex factory in the device.
7.1 Battery installation
-Open the battery cover on FM-15 mobile transmitter; install 2 ‘AAA
700mA rechargeable batteries by following the polarity marking inside the
battery compartment.
CAUTION: Observe the proper battery polarity orientation when installing
batteries. Incorrect positioning can damage both the batteries and the
unit.
- Close the battery cover.
7.2 Re-charging batteries
You can recharge your 700mA AAA rechargeable batteries with the normal
12V car charger or USB type charger.
CAUTION:
Only use the included 12V car charger or USB charger, with “AAA”
rechargeable batteries.
Do not connect other chargers, this may damage the device and the
LUTEC service warranty will not apply.
Insert 2 “AAA” rechargeable batteries.
Plug the 12V car charger or USB charger into the device
Connect the car charger to your cigarette lighter port or your USB
charger to the USB port of your pc
Note: It takes approximately 12 to 14 hours to fully charge the 700mA
batteries. During the charging process the battery level indicator
flashs. When you change the batteries your stored frequencies will be
lost.
7.3 Battery level indicator.
The battery level indicator is located in the left corner of the LCD panel. It
appears like a battery with bars inside. As the power is used up, the bars
will disappear.
When the batteries become empty , the battery level indicator will start to
flash. To ensure uninterrupted operation, replace or charger the batteries
as soon as possible.

8. Operation instructions
8.1 Turning the unit ON/OFF
To turn ON:
a. Slide the ON/OFF switch into ON position.
To switch OFF:

8.2 Connection to music players
Plug the 3.5mm connector into your MP3 or other portable music device.
8.3 Transmission auto ON/OFF Function.
The transmitter will automatically be on (in unit power switch on mode)
when it receives an audio signal from the external device and starts to
transmit the audio music. When transmitting, the transmitting signal ( )
displays on the LCD panel. The transmitter will automatically turns off
transmission when there is no input audio signal for 60 seconds from the
external device and transmitting signal will disappeared from the LCD
planer.
8.4 Setting Channels (short-term).
First, turn your radio to a channel with a free broadcast signal.
a. Once you have chosen the channel on your radio, press SET button on
your FM-15. The channel frequency starts to flash on the display.
b. Press UP or DOWN button to select the frequency you have chosen on
your radio.
c. Press and hold UP or DOWN button for fast forward or fast backward
tuning.
d. Press SET button once to confirm your selection.
8.5 Setting Volume
a. Adjust the volume of your MP3 player or other portable music device to
the desired listening level.
b. Adjust the volume of FM radio to the desired listening level.
8.6 Storing Channels (long-term).
a. Press the SET button once. The channel frequency starts to flash.
Select the desired frequency using UP or DOWN button.
b. While the channel frequency is flashing, press and hold Memory button
(M1) for 2 seconds. The memory location “MEMO 1” display on the
LCD panel. Release the memory button.
c. Follow this procedure for storing other channels in M2 and M3
locations.

d. In operation mode, pressing the memory buttons will toggle the 3
memory slots to retrieve the memorized frequency.
8.7 Power save mode
You can switch your FM-15 into power safe mode by pressing and holding
the “Set”-button for 2 seconds. When you press the Set”-button for 2
seconds again, the FM-15 will turn on again.

Terms of warranty:
The warranty period runs 2 years of all LUTEC products and starts with
the date of selling to the end-customer.

The warranty concerns deficiencies which are caused by material or
production failures. The activated warranty is inapplicable for defects or
deficiencies that are caused by incorrect handling or outer effects
(downfall, bash, water, dust, contamination or break). Consumables (e.g.
the chargeable batteries) are excluded from the warranty.
LUTEC`s commitment compared to the pruchaser never ecxess the
required amount for reparation or compensation and is limited to 24
months starting wit the date of purchase. However this is the case when a
clear default of a LUTEC produvct is proved.
Excluded at any time are consequential damages of any kind!
The warranty does not apply for the case that LUTEC products are
damaged deliberatly or because of neglectfulness, when they are
disassembled or when therehave been other impermissible modifications
or missapplication.
Products are replaced within this period or an equivalent substitute will be
offered. The purchase price will not be recompensed.

11 FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why can't I hear music?
- Check whether the frequency you have set on the radio is matching with the
frequency set on the FM transmitter.
- Check whether your source device (e. g. MP3 player, iPod, etc.) is properly

functioning.
- Check whether all devices are properly supplied with power.
- Check whether all devices are switched on.
2. Why is there background noise when I’m listening to music?
- There may be a device in your environment which is interfering with the selected
frequency. Select another frequency and try it once again.
3. Why can’t I listen to the music in stereo mode?
- Check whether all connectors are firmly plugged into the appropriate
connections.
4. Why doesn't the background lighting work?
- Check whether the FM transmitter is supplied with power.
- Check whether the device is switched on.
5. Why can't I receive clear audio signals?
- Check whether the volume control is of your source device is set to medium
level.
- Set the volume of your source device to medium level and adjust the desired
volume on your radio.
12 Important notes
- Protect the device against direct sunlight and keep it away from heat
sources.
- Do not expose the device to unusual temperatures.
- Do not clean the surface of the device with chemicals such as alcohol,
solvents, etc., as this could damage the surface.
- Note that the device can be damaged, if you drop it or expose it to
strong impact.
- Note that the device is neither watertight nor water-resistant.
- Protect the device against heat, humidity and magnetic fields.
- Do not perform any modifications of the device; otherwise your
LUTEC warranty is considered invalid.
- Do not use the device in a dusty or dirty environment, as this could
damage the device.
- Keep the device and all accessories away from children.
Since 3 March 2006, the use of this product is permitted in Germany.
The manufacturer reserves the right to modify the technical specifications of the
product.

4. Product replacement:
If the hotline comes to the conclusion that your FM transmitter needs to be replaced,

device, together with this RMA no., accessories and a copy of the purchase receipt to
our service centre. We will then immediately replace the device.
