1 - GENERAL INFORMATION
This canopy hood is designed to be xed to any rigid vertical surface, over a gas or electric
hotplate and can be used either in the extraction mode (ducted to the outside) or in the recir-
cu-lation mode (internal recycling). All cookers hood perform better when used in evacuation
mode. During winter time it may be convenient to use the hood in the recycling mode to avoid
heat loss from the kitchen.
Before starting the installation, consideration should be given to the dif culties to be
found during installation. The installation work must be undertaken by a quali ed and
competent person
in conformity to the rules concerning the evacuation of contaminated air. The manufac-
turer disclaims all liability for any damage or injury caused as a result of not following
the instructions for installation contained in the following text.
2 - SAFETY WARNING
1.1 - When used in the extraction mode, the cooker hood ducting must not be connected to a ue which is used
for exhausting fumes from appliances supplied with energy other than electric, such as a central heating
ue or water heating ue.
1.2 - Before connecting to the mains supply ensure that the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage on the
rating plate inside the hood.
1.3 - Connect the cooker hood to the mains via a bipolar switch which has 3mm clearance between the con-
tacts.
1.4 - For cooker hoods featuring an earth cable, make sure the electric plant of your house is correctly earthed.
1.5 - Appliance in class II are provided with a double insulation; therefore do not connect then through earthed
plugs but through simple bipolar plugs.
1.6 - When installed, the hood must be positioned at least 65cm above the hotplate.
1.7 - Never do ambé cooking under this cooker hood.
1.8 - Never leave frying pans unattended during use as overheated fat and oil may catch re.
1.9 - Before carrying out any kind of maintenance or cleaning, disconnect the hood from the mains supply.
1.10- If the room where the cooker hood is to be used contains a fuel burning appliance such as a central hea-
ting boiler then this must be of the room sealed or balanced ue type. If other types of ue or appliance
are tted, ensure that there is an adequate supply of air into the room. When the cooker hood is used in
conjunction with appliances supplied with energy other than electric, the negative pressure in the room
must not exceed 0,04 mbar to prevent fumes being drawn back into the room by the cooker hood.
1.11- The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
1.12- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer
or its service agent.

3 - INSTALLATION
3.1 - Fitting the splashback
Before installing the hood it is possible to t the splash-
back provided, if required.
Mark the holes required to x it to the wall, as shown
in g. A.
Drill the wall (2 holes Ø 5mm) and insert the wall
plugs.
Fix the splashback to the wall using the two 3x35
screws (provided).
3.2 - Wall installation
The hood can be supplied with two different xing kits:
a) screws, plugs and safety square.
b) screws, plugs and metal brackets.
1 - Fixing with screws
Using the cardboard template, mark and drill the holes
on the wall (2 holes Ø 8 mm see instructions on the
template), insert the plugs in the holes, tighten both
4,2 x 44,4 screws(supplied) leaving about 5 mm un-
screwed, hook the hood onto the screws ( g. 1) and
secure tightly from inside ( g. 2). Mount the safety
square (supplied) above the hood ( g. 3).
2 - Fixing with brackets Using the cardboard template,
mark and drill the holes on the wall (4 holes Ø 8 mm
see instructions on the template), x the metal brac-
kets with screws and plugs (supplied), hook the hood
onto the brackets ( g. 4). Fix the hood with two knobs
(supplied) ( g. 5). Make sure the hood is level and,
if necessary, adjust by acting upon the adjustment
screws ( g. 6).
3 - Respect warning 2.5.
3.3 – Wall unit installation
Using the cardboard template, mark and drill the
bottom of the wall unit, (see instructions on the tem-
plate).
Fasten the hood from inside the unit using four screws
4,2 x 44,4 (supplied) ( g.7). For suction hoods, the
wall unit must be drilled to allow for the air discharge
duct. Filter hoods do not require this type of drilling
operation since the air is recycled into the room
through vents situated on the front of the hood.

3.4 - Connecting suction or lter hoods
1 - Connecting suction hoods (air is discharged into the atmosphere)
The hood comes with two air outlets, a plastic cover tted in the
rear hole and a ange to be tted according to the solution chosen:
top discharge ( g. 8), rear discharge ( g. 9). In case of installation
with rear discharge, t the plastic cover in the top hole and the
ange in the rear hole. Using a pipe Ø 100 o 120 mm, connect the
air discharge ange to the external discharge duct. Open the grid
panel by pressing inwards on the knobs ( g. 10), check that the lever
(hood with one motor) or the handle (hood with two motors) points
to the ducting mode position ( g. 11), remove the charcoal lter, if
any, by turning the handle anti-clockwise (see par.3.3 2 part 2°).
Respect warning 2.1
2 - Connecting lter hoods (air is ltered and recirculated inside the
room) Open the grid panel, check that the lever (hood with one
motor) or the handle (hood with two motors) points to the lter mode
position ( g. 11), insert the charcoal lter
(see par.3.3 2 part
2°).

4 - SAFETY WARNINGS
(It is most important that all the warnings shown in paragraph 2 of the Installation Instructions
are strictly observed). Moreover, special attention must be paid to the following warnings during
the use and maintenance of the cooker hood:
4.1- The grease lters and the charcoal lters should be cleaned or replaced as recommended by the
manufacturer or more frequently if the hood is used consistently (more than 4 hours per day).
4.2- When using a gas hob in connection with the cooker hood never leave the burners of the hob
uncovered while the hood is in use or when the pans have been removed. Switch off the gas
before removing the pan or for just short periods and never leave the hob unattended.
4.3- Always ensure that the appliance is kept at the correct intensity to prevent the ame from
licking round from the bottom of the pan; this will save energy and will avoid a dangerous
concentration of heat.
4.4 - Always ensure that the appliance is used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for
the removal of contaminated odours during cooking.
5 - USE
L Light Switches the lighting system on and off.
M Motor Switches the extractor motor on and off.
V Speed Sets the operating speed of the extractor.
1.Low speed, used for a continuous and silent air change in the presence of light
cooking vapour.
2.Medium speed, suitable for most operating conditions given the optimum
treated air ow/noise level ratio.
3.Maximum speed, used for eliminating the highest cooking vapour emission,
including long periods.

6 - MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance will ensure good performance and extend the working life of the
hood. Special attention should be taken to the grease lters and, for the lter hoods only, to the
charcoal lters.
6.1 - Metal grease lters
1 - Cleaning
These lters need to be washed with ordinary household
detergent every 2 months maximum. Thanks to their
reduced dimensions, they can also be washed in the
dishwasher.
2 - Removing the lter
Open the grid panel, remove the steel wire clips and the
grease lter ( g. 13). Make sure that the lter is dry before
replacing it, close the grid panel.
WARNING : Respect replacement and maintenance
schedules recommended in order to avoid re hazar-
ds caused by over-saturated lters.
6.2 - Charcoal lters
1 - How they work
Charcoal lters can absorb smells and odours until they are saturated.
They cannot be washed or recycled and so they should be replaced
at least every 4 months or more frequently if the hood is heavily
used.
2 - Replacement:
Open the grid panel, replace the charcoal lter by turning the locking
handle anti-clockwise for removing and clockwise for replacing ( g.
14). Close the grid panel.
6.3 - Lighting
It is composed of one or two 40 W lamps which can be
reached by removing the grid panel (Fig.15). If the lights
fail to function, check that they are fully screwed into
place. If they have blown, they should be replaced with
similar lamps having the same voltage and power.
6.4 - Cleaning
When cleaning the hood:
- Never use a wet cloth or sponge, or running water.
- Never use thinners or products containing alcohol, as
they might damage the paintwork.
- Never use abrasive cleaning materials, in particular when cleaning stainless steel surfaces.
It is recommended to use a damp cloth and mild liquid household cleaner.
