Prior to initial use
For a start, please clean the grill plate, the pans and the small shovels in warm water with a little amount
of dishwashing detergent.
Prior to initial operation, the heating elements‘ protective layer has to be burned in. In order to
do so, please heat up the appliance without pans at maximum power for about 10 minutes. Please do not
be bothered by the harmless smokes and smells that will be generated for a short while.
As with other grill plates and pans that have a non-stick coating, it is recommended for the first use to
brown a little bit of bacon or to spread a small amount of oil on/in it so that the grilled food comes loose
more easily.
Caution! If too much fat is spread on the grill plate, the fat might splash.

Cleaning and maintenance
ATTENTION: Hazard of injury and burns!
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance and let
all parts cool down.
Clean grill plate, pans and small shovels in lukewarm water with a little amount of dishwashing detergent.
Soak severe soiling firstly with some oil.
Wipe the heating element with a damp cloth only.
Undernocircumstancesmustyouuseanyscouringagentsorsolvents,nopointedobjectsandnooven
sprays. Changes in colour of the stainless steel surfaces can be removed with a special stainless steel
cleansing agent.
Never immerse appliance, cable or plug in water! Make sure no water or steam may infiltrate the
appliance from below either.
The appliance must not be treated with a steam cleaner.
Tips
The grill plate has a non-stick coating, which requires a slight greasing only for the first use. Afterwards no
further greasing is necessary.
Make sure the food does not get in contact with the heating element as otherwise it will burn.
Only season cheese after melting as spices burn at high temperatures and generate unpleasant smoke.
If possible, the food to be grilled should be taken out of the fridge ½ hour before you start grilling. It will
roast more quickly and you avoid thicker meat staying cold inside.
Oil lean meat slightly before grilling. The best results are achieved with small and tender pieces of meat.
Donotpiercewhenturning,sothatnojuiceislost.
Forclosingtheporesofthemeat,ithastobesearedshortlyrst.Themeatisreadywhenthejuicecoming
out is clear.
Saltthemeatafterwards;otherwiseitmightlosetoomuchjuice.
Sausages should be pierced before grilling so that they do not burst.
Spices and marinades might generate smoke when grilling. To avoid this you may use non-seasoned/non-
marinated raw meat and rather offer seasoning mixtures and barbecue sauces as side dish.
Of course, you can also grill vegetables and fish.
As side dishes, we recommend fresh salads and cooked potatoes.
