A Wi-Fi repeater is used to extend the coverage
area of your wireless network. This device works by
detecting your existing digital signal, amplifying it,
and then transmitting the boosted signal farther.
With our wireless option, you can expand your
signal range without the need for a wired
backbone. Compatible with 802.11b/g/n wireless
protocols, it’s never been easier to open up the far
corners of your home, oce, dierent floors, or
even your yard and connect easily to the wireless
web.
For other users with existing wireless routers, please
choose from the options below to extend your
wireless network coverage:
Please read the note below before starting
the setup process:
This repeater has two modes: Repeater Mode
and Access Point (AP) Mode. If you are now
using a router or DSL modem without Wi-Fi
capability, you must choose AP mode to
create a wireless network for easy wireless
web access.
Access Point (AP) mode - Connect to an existing
Wi-Fi router with a long network cable and place
this device in a strategic farther location for
extended wireless range. Since the cable provides
a stable and direct signal, we recommend this
mode wherever possible.
Repeater Mode - Repeater mode boosts the
coverage of your existing wireless network by
detecting the wireless signal and repeating it to a
farther range. We recommend this mode when
cabling is impractical or when you require flexibility
to move the repeater from one room to another.
In both instances, the device will create a new
wireless network. When moving between wireless
networks, you may need to manually switch
networks on your laptop or mobile device to connect
to the stronger signal.
Please refer to Page 11 for AP Mode Setup
If this is not your first time setting up this device, we
recommend that you first reset to start anew. Please
refer to Page 16 for reset instructions.
Step 1. Confirm Live Internet Connection
Please verify that your router or DSL modem is working
properly and that your existing devices can connect to
the Internet successfully.
Step 2. Select Repeater Location
Identify the wall socket where you would like to place
the repeater. Ensure that your desired location has a
stable Wi-Fi signal from your original router. > 70%
signal strength is ideal, while signals < 50% strength may
reduce your network speed and connection stability.
Step 3. Connect Computer to your Repeater
1. Plug the repeater into a wall socket; allow a 1-minute
start up time.
2. Connect your computer to the repeater wirelessly:
From your computer, view your available wireless
connections (typically accessible from the corner
of your desktop).
Choose the newly available “WiFi-Repeater”
network and connect. Note that no password is
needed at this time.
Step 4. Temporarily change the IP address
setting of your computer
1. Open the IP setting dialog on your computer
For PC users
Windows 7
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network & Sharing
Center > Change Adapter Settings (or Manage
Network Connections).
Windows XP
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections.
Among the list of connections, right click

Click “Properties” in the pop-up menu. The
“connection properties” window will appear.
In this window, double click “Internet Protocol

appear.
For Mac users
Click the Wi-Fi icon from the top-right corner
of your desktop and choose “Open Network
Preferences.” The network configuration window
will appear.
On the left of the window, select your Wi-Fi
connection. Then click “Advanced…” on the lower
right side.
Select the TCP/IP tab, and the IP setting page will
appear.
2. Record the current IPv4 settings before proceeding
Note: Computers are often set to “Obtain an IP
address automatically” via the DHCP setting. If it is
not, you need to write down the exact information of
your IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.
3. Temporarily change the IP address of your computer
From the IPv4 settings, switch to configure your IP
address manually.
Type in the following settings:
• IP address: 192.168.10.111
• Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
