1912 Midland Metal Spinners was founded by
George Cadman, who was then 65 years old, as
a metal holloware manufacturing company, in St.
Mark’s Street, Wolverhampton. They later moved
into the Tower and Fort Works in Pelham Street,
which ultimately gave rise to the famous Tower
brand name.
1937 Tower exhibited some of their latest holloware
designs at the British Industries Fair. As you can
see from the original poster, their stand No. A410
must have been a great sight as it promoted their
“Beautiful, inexpensive, untarnishable Plate, at
prices all can afford to pay”.
1961 Tower became one of the largest
manufacturers of aluminium holloware, electric
kettles, tea pots and other household articles with
over 1,000 employees.
1974 Russell Hobbs took ownership of the
expanding Tower brand.
Sweet & Savoury
The Tower 3 in 1 Sandwich Maker, Waffle and
Grill means you can enjoy delicious toasted
sandwiches, waffles or grills quickly and at any
time of the day or night, without having to fire
up the stove. The white ceramic non-stick plates
close to seal your sandwich and its contents,
preventing any mess or unnecessary spillage. Add
ham, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions or
any other filling you want, close the lid and wait.
The multi-function doesn’t require any added oil
either, which means healthier eating for you and
your family.

3USINGYOURAPPLIANCE
Beforeyourrstuse:
1. Before using the unit for the rst time,
carefully clean the unit and cover.
2. Do not use any abrasive detergents,
brushes with metal or nylon bristles or
sharp objects such as knives or spatulas
for cleaning the cooking plates by wiping a
sponge or cloth dampened in warm water
to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
3. For best results, lightly coat the cooking
plates with a little cooking oil or cooking
spray.
4. Dispose of packaging in a responsible
manner.
Preparingyour3in1SandwichMaker,
WafeandGrill:
1. Remove the appliance from the packaging
and peel off any adhesive labels.
2. Pour a teaspoon of vegetable oil onto the
non-stick coated plates.
3. Wipe over the plates with an absorbent
kitchen towel and then wipe off any excess
oil.
4. The red and green indicator lights will both
come on, to show that the power is on
and the element is warming up. Once the
sandwich maker has reached the required
temperature, the green light will go out.
During heating the green light will cycle on
and off to keep the temperature.
5. Close the lid while the pre-heating occurs.
During this time prepare your ingredients.
6. The appliance is ready for use once the
green indicator illuminates. This will take
approximately 5 minutes.
7. Initially, the appliance may release a slight

normal occurrence caused by the initial
heating of the heating elements and should
not re-occur.
Howtochangeplates:
Warning: Never change the plates when the
appliance is hot.
1. Open the appliance.
2. Pull the detaching button to release the

Hints&TipsforToastingSandwiches:
Bread
The appliance is ideal for toasting most types
of bread (white, wholemeal, kibbled wheat,
wholegrain etc.), as well as artisan breads
(Focaccia, Turkish bread, baguettes, bread rolls
etc.). Raisin bread, brioche or other sweet breads
which contain high sugar content will tend to
brown quicker.

Fillings
Try to use canned or pre-cooked fruit as
fresh fruit may give off excessive juices when
heated. Be careful when biting into Panini’s and
sandwiches containing llings such as cheese
and tomato or jam as they retain heat and can
burn if eaten too quickly.
ToastingBread
The appliance is ideal for toasting plain breads
and Turkish bread, without any llings or spreads.
Try toasting Turkish bread with jams for a great
alternative to standard breads at breakfast.
FatFreeSnacks
Due to the non-stick cooking plates, it is not
necessary to use any butter or margarine on the
outside of your toasted snacks.
