Before use, follow the procedure explained below to fill the water
tank with clean, cold water up to the ‘MAX’ level indicated.
Important:
Do not use water with any chemical additives added. The
water must be cold or lukewarm, do not use hot water
above 40°C.
Make sure the cooler is switched off before adding water to
the tank.
When adding water from the superior water tank, please
pay attention to check the water level of the inferior water
tank, as the water filled from top water tank will flow to the
bottom water tank.
Do not fill water above the ‘MAX’ line on the front of the
water tank.
10
Superior water tank:
1. Open the top cover water tank.
2. Fill in clean, cold water into the water tank.
3. The water will flow directly to the bottom water tank.
4. Check the inferior water tank and make sure the water is
not below or above the minimum and maximum levels.
5. Check the below picture for minimum and maximum water
level.
Superior water tank Inferior water tank
Note: It is important to check the inferior water tank level while
filling in the water from the superior water tank. Make sure it is
above or below the levels indicated.
Inferior water tank:
1. Water can also be filled directly into the inferior water tank.
2. Slide out the water tank cover. The water tank cannot be
removed completely.
3. Fill in clean, cold water into the water tank, taking care not

Functions
The new evaporative air cooler SY-CL420 integrates better
cooling effect as it pumps the water and makes it flow from the
inferior water tank to the top water tank, hence creating a
better cooling effect. It is recommended to place the 2 ice
boxes on the superior water tank so when the water runs from
down to up and flows back it can generate colder air.
1. Cooling
This evaporative air cooler is built to maximize energy
efficiency.
Warm air is drawn into the cooler through a dust and odor-
13
reducing filter which enters the honeycomb cooling filter. Water
is then pumped from the tank, pours over the honeycomb filter.
As the warm air passes through the filter, the water absorbs
the heat naturally, cooling and humidifying the air. A fan
propels the cooled air out into the room. This no-compressor
system cools naturally and efficiently.
The recommended maximum relative humidity level is 60% or
less, which allows a noticeable temperature decrease. The
temperature decrease will be greater in drier climates because
higher evaporation occurs when the humidity is low. The
evaporative air cooler should not be used in closed spaces.
The room should have doors and windows opened to allow
free air flow. The evaporative air cooler works best when
placed near an open window, so that outside air is drawn into
the evaporative air cooler, the air circulates in the room and
then exits via the door.
2. Humidifier
The evaporative air cooler can also be used to humidify dry air
during cool weather. To use the humidification function, the
windows and doors should be closed to allow the humidified air
to accumulate.
3. Air purifier
The filter removes tiny dust particles and cigarette smoke and
constantly filters the air to provide a cleaner and healthier
environment.
4. Oscillation (Swing)
The louvers automatically swing from left to right and back and
the vertical wind direction can be set manually.
5. Speed settings
Speed between three fan speeds of 8.8m/s, 7.8m/s and 6.8m/s
14
6. Energy saving
This product uses water as its media and physical ways to cool
down the temperature. The water tank capacity lasts a long
time and the power consumption is only 65W (only 5%
compared to an air-conditioner)
7. Cleaning
The water tank can be easily pulled out and cleaned with a
damp cloth.
Cleaning and maintenance
Caution:
Always switch off and unplug the unit before removing the
filters or performing any cleaning.
Do not use harsh detergents, chemical cleaners or solvents as
they may damage the surface finish of the plastic components.
MAIN BODY
1. Use a soft duster or a rag to dust off all the surfaces.
2. Clean the Air Inlet and Air Outlet using a vacuum cleaner
regularly.
3. Wipe all the parts with a soft damp (not wet) cloth dipped in
mild soapy water.
4. Use a dry cloth to thoroughly dry the unit before turning on.
Caution: Ensure that water doesn’t get inside the unit.
AIR INLET COVER AND INNER FILTER
1. Remove the air inlet cover by pulling it outwards.
2. Remove the honeycomb filter
3. Use a duster to gently dust off the Inner Filter.
4. Wash the filter if necessary, using a mild detergent and a soft
brush.
15
5. Make sure to dry the filter before reinstalling it.
6. Replace the Inner Filter and Air Inlet Cover and make sure it is
well fixed in its position.
WATER TANK
In the case you do not use the Cool function for a long period
of time, remove the water from the water tank.
Slide out the water tank until its limit.
Remove the drainage screw to let all the water run out.
Use mild soap and water to clean the Water Tank.
Allow it to air dry or wipe dry using a soft cloth. Make sure the
Water Tank is completely dry before replacing. This helps
prevent any mould or mildew inside the Water Tank.
It is recommended to change the water every 24 hours or at
least every 3 or 4 days.
16
Clean the product regularly as dust and accumulated deposits
may affect performance.
Note: Make sure the Air Inlet Cover and Water Tank are replaced
in position before switching on again.
