Coopers 9243 Operating instructions

Please read these instructions carefully and retain for future use.

Batteries

Each unit requires 2 x AA batteries, so 4 in total are needed for this set. Batteries are not supplied.

Use 1.5v AA batteries, do not mix old and new, do not mix standard and rechargeable batteries. Always replace all 4

batteries. On the side of each unit there is a small LED light that will indicate when batteries are low and need replacing by

lighting up.

Open the battery compartment using a small screwdriver. Insert the batteries observing the correct polarity, and replace the

battery compartment cover.

Fixing

The Door Chime units are slightly different in appearance. Ensure the one with the word “ALARM” is sited inside and the

one with the “BELL” symbol is located outdoors.

Both can be sited by using double sided tape (not supplied) or by using fixing screws (supplied) to attach them. There are

small tabs at the top and bottom of each unit that can be pulled out so that the screws can be used to fix to the door frame. Or

there is a hanging hole on the back of each unit for placing onto a screw or nail.

Setting the channel

At the back of each Door Chime unit there is an ON / OFF, A / B and 1 / 2 channel selector. Ensure that both units have the

same setting. There are 4 channels that can be selected. This will minimise interference with your neighbour’s doorbells.

To use

To operate as a standard doorbell: push the “BELL” symbol on the outside unit and the inside unit will chime three times.

To operate as an intercom: press and hold the “TALK” button on the unit. Talk into the unit about 2 inches away from it.

The sound is transmitted through the small “mic” on the front of each unit. The intercom function works both ways. The

outside person can talk to the inside person or vice versa.

To operate as an alarm: If the inside person wishes to activate the alarm on the outside unit, press the “ALARM” button on

the inside unit. The red LED light will activate and an alarm sound will activate on the outside Door Chime unit. To stop the

alarm press the “ALARM” button again.

To reset the units at any time, turn them off and then turn them back on again.

Warnings

Note the maximum range is 75 feet, but this can vary depending on building construction.

Do not fix the Door Chime on or near metal surfaces as this can affect the transmission to the receiver and reduce the

operational range. The building construction, walls and doors can also reduce the range depending on their materials or

thickness.

It is advisable to test the Door Chime before fixing in its final location.

This is not a toy.

Keep away from children.

For domestic use only.

If not in use for at least a month, please remove the batteries to prevent accidental battery leakage.

Packaging

Dispose of packaging at your local recycling centre.

Dispose of paper and carton separately from plastic bags at your local recycling centre.

Dispose of the item at the end of its life at your local recycling centre.
