AGA Rayburn 499K Mk1 is a central heating cooker designed to provide cooking, central heating, and domestic hot water. It has two independently fired oil burners, one for the boiler and one for the cooker. The cooker burner gives control of hotplate and oven temperatures. The hotplate is graduated in temperature, so you can slide pans to a hotter or cooler area depending on whether boiling or simmering is required. The main oven and hotplate temperatures are controlled by a thermostat control knob.
