Never install the outdoor unit in a location such as on a high external wall where

Fix the outdoor unit firmly so that the electric part of the outdoor unit is not
exposed.

Do not install this appliance near a heater or inflammable material, in a humid,
oily or dusty area, in a location exposed to direct sunlight and water(rain drops)

Safety precautions
This appliance should be positioned in such a way that it is accessible to the
power plug.
Failing to do so may result in electric shock or fire due to electric leakage.
Install your appliance on a level and hard floor that can support its weight.
Failing to do so may result in abnormal vibrations, noise, or problems with the
product.
When installing the outdoor unit on the roadside, install it above 2m or where
the heat coming out from the outdoor unit cannot contact the passensers.
This is a Regulation for Facility in Building. You must follow this.
Install the draining hose properly so that water is drained correctly.
Failing to do so may result in water overflowing and property damage.
When installing the outdoor unit, make sure to connect the draining hose so
that draining is performed correctly.
The water generated during the heating operation by the outdoor unit may over
flow an d result in property damage. In particular, in winter, if a block of ice falls,
it may result in injury, death or property damage.
Remove all foreign substances such as dust or water from the power plug
terminals and contact points using a dry cloth on a regular basis.
Unplug the power plug and clean it with a dry cloth.
Failing to do so may result in electric shock or fire.
Plug the power plug into the wall socket in the right direction so that the cord
runs towards the floor.
If you plug the power plug into the socket in the opposite direction, the electric
wires within the cable may be damaged and this may result in electric shock or fire.
When the appliance or power plug or power cord is damaged, contact your
nearest service center.
Plug the power plug into the wall socket firmly. Do not use a damaged power
plug, damaged power cord or loose wall socket.
This may result in electric shock or fire.
Do not pull the power cord, when unplugging the power plug.

If the appliance is flooded, please contact your nearest service center.
If the appliance generates a strange noise, a burning smell or smoke, unplug

In the event of a gas leak (such as propane gas, LP gas, etc.), ventilate immediately
without touching the power plug. Do not touch the appliance or power cord.

candles, lighted cigarettes, dishes, chemicals, metal objects, etc.) on the appliance.

Barriers near the outdoor unit
Take away if there are covers or barriers.
It may cause product failure, and poor performance in
cooling(heating) by blocking air circulation.
Auxiliary power switch (NFB, ELB, etc.)
Auxiliary power switch is not included in the package. Purchase and install it
separately.
Auxiliary power switch is a device to prevent over-current or short circuit.
Install it separately near the indoor unit and turn it off when cleaning or
when you don’t use it for long time.
If NFB or ELB has already installed in the switch box of the building,
you don’t need to install auxiliary power switch.

To use the air conditioner effectively,
check the following in advance.
If indoor/outdoor temperature is lower than the regular temperature
(Indoor temp.: 20˚C, Outdoor temp.: 7˚C) or install condition is different from the
general condition(Standard piping more than 5m, installation location or insulation),
the unit will operate normally but heating capacity may decrease. In this case,
use additional heating apparatus.
Indoor units which are connected to 1 outdoor unit cannot operate mixed operation.
In this case, press the
[](Mode)
button and select same operation mode.
Mixed operation means selecting different operation modes in both indoor units
which are connected to 1 outdoor unit.

If the air conditioner operates in cooling mode for long period of time in high humidity
area, dew may be formed.
If the outdoor temperature goes down to -5°C, heating capacity may decrease as
much as 60%~70% of specified capacity according to the using conditions.

Be careful not to get the remote controller wet.
How to use remote controller
Point the remote controller towards the remote
control sensor of the unit.
When properly pressing the button on the remote
controller, you will hear beep sound from the unit.
The signal may not be received well of electronic
lighting style fluorescent lamps such as inverter
fluorescent lamps are in the same space.
If other electrical products operate by the remote
controller, call your nearest contact center.

If you adjust the desired temperature,
operation mode will change to Cool mode.
Temperature
Desired temperature :
Means the temperature you want.
Desired temperature should be
lower than surrounding
temperature for cooling operation.
Auto : Adjusts fan speed depending on the indoor
temperature.
If the indoor/outdoor temperature is low(Indoor temp.:
Less than 21°C/Outdoor temp.: Less than 18°C) when
the Comfort care mode is initiated, the air conditioner will
operate in Heat mode automatically.
You cannot select vertical swing in Comfort care mode.
You don’t need to control because it will be selected
automatically.

function
In comfort care mode, the air conditioner will automatically set the operation mode to
Cool, Dry or Clean mode to provide refreshing and comfortable indoor air.
Turn on the air conditioner by pressing the (Power) button.
The air conditioner starts operation in Comfort care mode.
If not, select Comfort care by pressing the
(Mode) button.
(Auto) is selected automatically. If you adjust fan
speed, operation mode will change to Cool mode.
In Comfort care mode, the air conditioner will select the most
appropriate air flow using the temperature sensor.
- Temperature sensor: Detects the indoor temperature
Comfort care will initially operate in Cool mode for first 10 minutes
and change operation mode depending on the indoor temperature
and humidity.

cooling operation, cool air will not come out about
3 minutes to protect compressor.

The air conditioner in Dry mode acts like a dehumidifier by removing moisture from
the indoor air. Dry mode makes the air feel refreshing in a humid climate.
Firstly,
Press the (Power) button and select Dry mode
by pressing the
(Mode) button
.
You can set the desired temperature between
the range of 18˚C~30˚C by pressing the
[]/[](Temp) button.
The temperature increases/decreases by 1˚C.
(Auto) is selected automatically.
You can set the air flow in vertical direction by

For horizontal air flow, you can set the air blades
manually with your hands.
The outdoor unit may repeatedly turn on/off depending
on current temperature and humidity.

I want to make the clean air
Clean mode will not only ventilate your room but the air conditioner will also
eliminate active oxygen to make the indoor air more refreshing.
Firstly,
Press the (Power) button and select Clean mode
by pressing the
(Mode) button or (Clean) button.
Temperature adjustment is not available.
However, if you select Clean mode additionally in
Cool/Dry/Heat mode, you can adjust the desired
temperature.
You can select the fan speed from
(Low), (Med), (High)
by pressing the [
]/[ ](Fan) button.

You can set the air flow in vertical direction by
pressing the
[]
(Vertical swing) button.
For horizontal air flow, you can set the air blades
manually with your hands.

You can press the [정](Clean) button to set the Clean mode when the air conditioner is on
or off.
When the air conditioner is operating in Cool/Dry/Heat mode, you can press the
[청정](Clean) button to operate the Clean mode simultaneously.
If you press the [정](Clean) button in Comfort care mode, operation mode will change to
Cool (Clean) mode.
There will not be any changes in power consumption or operation noise even if you set the
Clean mode to operate simultaneously with other mode.
You can press the [전/](Power) button to stop the operation if the Clean mode is
operating simultaneously with other mode.
If the Clean mode is operating alone, you can press the [정](Clean) button to stop the
operation.
If you don't use the air conditioner for long period of time, dry the inside of the
air conditioner by operating in Clean mode for 3~4 hours.

Firstly,

Just after you start the heating operation, warm air will
come out after for a while to avoid cold air from
coming out.
Defrost indicator(

- When the air conditioner starts to remove the frost
which generated during heat mode, defrost indicator
will light up. After removing the frost, the indicator will
be turned off.
- Steam may generate in outdoor unit when removing the
frost during Heat mode.
- The air comes out for 3~4 minutes when you turned off
the air conditioner after operating in Heat mode.

How to start Smart saver mode

Select Smart saver mode by pressing the
[](Smart saver) button.
and vertical swing indicator will be displayed and
Smart saver mode will operate. The air flow blade moves
up and down.
If you press the button once again, Smart saver mode
will be canceled and Cool mode will start. Even if you
cancel the Smart saver mode, vertical air swing will
remain.

button. For horizontal air flow, you can

This function maintains the indoor Cool and save the

Application

Comfort care mode will start with beep sound.
Press the [운전/정지](Power) button again to stop the operation.
Select Cool mode by pressing the
[](Mode) button.
Each time you press the
[선택]
(Mode) button,
the mode will change in order of (Comfort care)
(Cool)
(Dry)
(Clean)
(Heat).
Smart Saver function is only available in Cool
mode. If you select Smart Saver function in
Speed/Silence mode, Speed/Silence mode will be

How to start Speed mode
I want to make the indoor
cool/warm quickly
Speed mode will be helpful to cool or heat your room quickly and
effectively by operating at the maximum fan speed for 30 minutes.
Application
Select Cool/Heat mode by pressing the
[](Mode)
button.
Each time you press the
[선택]
(Mode) button,
the mode will change in order of (Comfort care
)
(Cool)
(Dry)
(Clean)
(Heat).
Select Speed mode by pressing the
[](Speed)
button.
will be displayed and speed mode will operate
for 30 minutes.
To cancel the Speed mode, press the button once
again.
Press the
[/](Power)
button to turn
the air conditioner on.
Comfort care mode will start with beep sound.
Press the [운전/정지](Power) button again to stop the operation.

You can select Speed mode in Cool/Heat mode

If you select Speed mode in Smart saver/Silence
mode, Smart saver/Silence mode will be canceled.

Air flow
You can set the air flow in vertical direction by pressing the

button. For horizontal air flow, you can
set the air blades manually with your hands.
