When operating electrical appliances, you must follow basic safety
directions. In order to avoid the risk of burns, electrocution, fire and/
or personal injury, please read attentively through these operating
instructions before using the appliance and follow all directions when
using it.
Please store these operating instructions carefully for future use.
If the fan is transferred to a third party, please pass along these operating
instructions as well.
IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Connect the appliance only to a socket that has been installed in accordance with the
provisions.
Don’t use a multiple socket power strip or an extension cord.
The voltage noted on the appliance’s type plate must match the mains voltage.
When you are charging the device, please ensure that the power cord cannot
become a tripping hazard.
When you are using the fan, please ensure that the appliance itself does not become
a tripping hazard.
Keep the appliance, the power cord and the power plug away from hot surfaces,
naked flames and sharp edges. When you are charging the device, please make sure
that the mains cord is not pinched (e.g. in a door).
Never touch the machine, the power cord or the power plug with damp or wet
hands.
Never immerse the machine, the power cord or the power plug in water or other
liquids. There is a risk of death due to electrocution!
Never pull the cord to unplug the device from the power socket. Always use the plug.
This fan is suitable for use only in living spaces. Do not use the fan in damp areas or
outdoors.
Do not put the fan in the vicinity of heat sources or naked flames.
Do not leave the fan unattended, when it is in use or when it is connected to the
mains.
Do not point the fan at people or animals. Risk of injury!
When it is in operation, please ensure that your hair, loose clothing or your body are
not in the vicinity of the rotor blades or other moving parts.
Do not use the fan in an environment, where there are naked flames (e.g. candles)
flammable gases, liquids or dust. Risk of ignition and fire!
Never use the fan in the vicinity of curtains or other light / hanging materials.
The fan is only suited for use in living spaces. Do not use the fan in damp areas or
outdoors.
Do not allow any objects or body parts to be introduced into the openings! Make
sure that the protective grid is not blocked by objects or dirt. Do not operate the
machine, if there is any blockage.
Blocked openings can lead to overheating and to ensuing damage to the motor.
Never use the power cord to carry the fan.

Do not operate the fan on uneven surfaces and avoid tipping it over when it is in use
(e.g. on stairs).
Switch the fan off and unplug it before cleaning it.
Children do not recognise the dangers which can be associated with handling
electrical appliances. Keep children away from the fan. Always be particularly alert, if
you are using the fan and there are children in the vicinity.
Keep packing materials such as plastic bags and pieces of styrofoam out of the reach
of children. Choking hazard!
Do not use the appliance, if it is visibly damaged, if it has fallen or if it is not
functioning flawlessly.
Inspect the appliance, the mains cord and the mains plug regularly for visible
damage. Never use the fan, if you have noticed that it is damaged. Never try to
repair the fan yourself.
Repairs should be performed by qualified experts only.
Please use the fan for its intended purpose only.
The fan is suitable for use in private households only and not for industrial use.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Take all of the fan parts out of the packaging and remove all packing materials and
inserts.
Remove the rubberised sleeve from the motor shaft.
Unscrew the black plastic bracket from the motor shaft and remove it.
Now mount the rear protective grid with the handle facing upward onto the motor
shaft by means of the screw thread of the bracket that has been previously removed.
Put the bracket back onto the shaft and tighten it.
Mount the blade on the motor shaft. Make sure that the fixing screw on the blade
is in position in the milled slot of the shaft and that the shaft is flush with the blade.
Now tighten the fixing screw of the blade fast. The blade is now securely positioned
on the motor shaft.
Now place the front protective grid on the rear protective grid. To do this, hang
the metal bracket of the front protective grid on the rear protective grid. Now you
can press the metal clamps of the front protective grid down and connect the two
protective grids in this way.

CLEANING AND CARE
Caution:
Always pull the plug out of the socket, before cleaning the device.
The appliance, the power cord and the power plug should not be immersed in
water or other liquids when you are cleaning them. Clean them with a dry cloth.
If it is very dirty, the outside of the fan can be wiped carefully with a moist cloth
and then dried carefully. Please make sure that no moisture penetrates into the
interior of the device.
Do not use any harsh cleaners, steel brushes, scouring powder or other hard
objects to clean the tool, as these can cause scratches on the surfaces.
Clean the machine regularly.
Never use solvents, petrol or oil-based cleaners, as these can damage the
housing.
Retighten the visible fittings on the fan regularly to ensure that it is operating
correctly.
DISPOSAL
Old electrical appliances from private households
If you do not want to use the electrical appliance any more, take it
to a collection facility for old electrical appliances, who will take it
free of charge.
Old electrical appliances must not under any circumstances be
thrown in household waste (see symbol).
Further directions for disposal
Return the electrical appliance in such a condition that its later
re-use or recycling is not adversely affected. Batteries must be
removed in advance and the destruction of parts which contain
fluids must be avoided.
Batteries of any kind must not go into the household rubbish.
Every consumer is legally obliged to submit batteries of all kinds
to collection centres in his community or city neighbourhood or to
a dealer.
Electrical appliances can contain harmful substances. Improper
handling or damage to the appliance can lead to health problems
or water or ground contamination, when the appliance is recycled
later.

Batteries
Batteries do not belong in the garbage. As a consumer, you
are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return your
old batteries free of charge in your local store or at public
collection points in your municipality.
Batteries contain harmful substances, which can contaminate the
environment by inappropriate waste handling and can affect
human health.
SERVICE / WARRANTY
The warranty is valid for 3 years and starts from the date of purchase. Please retain
the sales receipt to prove date of purchase.
It covers defects and malfunctions that may occur through normal use during the
warranty period.
You will not be liable for any repairs made during the warranty period.
The warranty is rendered invalid in the event of damages, modifications to or
misuse of the appliance, where these fall outside the warranty issuer’s scope of
responsibility. This applies to the following cases in particular:
Non-authorised personnel tampering with the appliance.
Modifications to the outside and inside of the appliance, removal or disguising
of the serial number or changes to the seals.
Damages that are the result of the appliance being bumped, dropped or subject
to external forces.
Damages that are the result of improper handling or misuse.
In the event of damages caused by external factors, such as power surges,
lightning strikes.
Professional use of the appliance.
Your statutory rights are not be limited by this warranty in the event of the
appliance being taken away (additional delivery, withdrawal, loss, recovery of
damages).
Please retain the original packaging in case you need to send the appliance back for
repair. Repaired or exchanged components are generally subject to the appliance’s
remaining warranty period.
