Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Chauvet dimmer pack. We are confident that you will enjoy many trouble
free hours with this unit. To assist with the use and care of this unit, we have prepared this short guide.
Operation
This dimmer pack has been designed to function on a mains power supply of 120V, 60Hz and has been fitted with a
suitable power plug for use with your local voltage. The DMX-35 will accept DMX signals or analog signals (0-10V) from
a dimmer controller.
The DMX-35 is a dual function unit. In DMX mode, it is a standard dimmer pack used with par cans to turn them on and
off as well as dimming them and a ropelight connector that allows control over all 4 ropelight channels independently. It
is also a stand alone 4 channel chase unit. The maximum load per channel is 7 amps. The maximum total load is 20
amps.

DMX Operation
The DMX-35 is a four channel unit. To use the DMX-35 in DMX mode, switch # 10 must be in the OFF position. To set
the address on the relay pack, you must check to verify the bank assignment utilized by your controller (ie. The Chauvet
DMX 40 banks all fixtures in 16 channel intervals and the CX5 in 14 channel intervals. The ShowXpress allows you to
utilize all the channels)
Example: To set the start address at channel 12
1. Set SW 10 to OFF.
2. Count the value of the switches in the on position. SW 3 equals 4
and SW 4 equals 8.
3. Set SW 3 and SW 4 to the ON position. (4 + 8 = 12)

CHASE MODE OPERATION
When dip switch SW 10 is set in the on position, the DMX-35 functions as a stand alone chaser. In this mode the user
has several options that can be selected to customize the chase (see chart below).
1. Chase pattern
2. Chase speed
3. Sound activation or automatic
SELECTING THE CHASE PATTERN
There are 16 pre-programmed chases to choose from. SW 10 must be in the ON position. The chase pattern is selected
by using dip switches SW 2, SW 3, SW 4 and SW 5. By setting SW 9 to on, you can repetitively run any single pattern in
the selected chase.
SELECTING THE CHASE SPEED
There are 8 different chase speeds (the time between steps of the chase) from which to choose. The speeds are
selected by using dip switches SW 6 - SW 7 - SW 8.
SOUND ACTIVATED MODE
To run your light show to the beat of the music, you must set SW 1 to OFF and SW 10 to ON. With all other DIP
switches in the OFF position, the DMX-35 will run through the sixteen pre-programmed chases. A single pattern from a
pre-programmed chase can be run repetitively by setting SW 9 to ON and also setting DIP switches SW2 to SW 5 (in
any combination of ON or OFF) to select a pre-programmed chase. The sound sensitivity is adjustable using the knob
on the front panel.
SLAVE MODE
Set all DIP switches to the OFF position. Connect the DMX-35 to the master unit via the DMX connectors. The second
unit will them mirror the master.

Replacing Fuses
If one of the channels does not function at all when connected to the main power supply, then it is highly likely that the
fuse has blown.
Disconnect from main power supply before attempting to replace either lamps or fuse.
In order to replace the fuse, disconnect from the main power supply first, and then unscrew the fuseholder cover to
reveal the fuse. The unit is clearly marked indicating the correct fuse rating. It is most important that replacement fuses
are of the correct rating. Failure to use the correct fuse could damage the unit beyond economic repair.
The fuse should simply be placed inside the holder and the screw cap replaced, when this is done connect to the main
power supply to check. If the unit is still not working then please contact your dealer or
CHAUVET for servicing.
Maintenance & Servicing
Work on internal parts should be carried out by a qualified technician. Removal of covers other than the front to replace
lamp or effect dish, or the fuseholder is considered a breach of warranty and will not be covered under any such
agreement unless authorized first by the company.
