many useful features built into your cleaner and we recommend that you carefully read
this instruction book so that you may take best advantage of them.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
This product must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for
domestic cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from household carpets, flooring and
fabrics.
This cleaner is intended for domestic household use only and is not designed for the
collection of vitreous building material including particle board construction products
and similar products such as wood/fibres, sand, cement, fillers, fibre glass etc. The pick-
up of these materials may be harmful to your cleaner and will void the manufacturers
warranty.

obtain full benefit from your new cleaner. Keep this Instruction Book in a handy place

IMPORTANT
Always switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply before
cleaning your appliance, when not in use, or attempting any maintenance task. The
cleaner must only be connected to an AC supply at the voltage shown on the rating
plate. This cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as described in these
instructions.
Never operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
DO NOT pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or similar
items.
DO NOT pick up flammable liquids such as cleaning fluids, petrol etc., or use in the
presence of such vapors.
DO NOT use your cleaner out of doors or on any wet surface or for WET pick-up.
Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Close attention is necessary when used near children.
The appliance is not intended for use by young children and infirm persons without
adequate supervision.
If using an extension cord please make sure that it is of an approved type and that it is
fully extended. Failure to do so could cause your cleaner to overheat and damage it.

Do not continue to use this appliance if it appears to be faulty or the supply cord is
damaged. If a fault cannot be rectified, please return to the point of purchase.
If damaged, return the cleaner for repair by an authorised Wertheim Service Centre in
order to avoid a safety hazard.
Consult the trouble shooting guide in this manual if your vacuum cleaner fails to operate
properly. Contact an authorised service agent if the problem persists.

CHANGING THE GERMASTADT DUST BAG
This dust bag has a unique sealing system locking in the dust, making
disposal easier, and ensuring no allergens are returned to the room.
3. Lift up dust bag holder and bend tab
over to seal bag for disposal.
2. To remove and replace dust bag,
open dust bag cover.
4. Remove bag by sliding out of bag
holder and dispose.
5. Refit new dust bag by sliding into
dust bag holder.

indicator illuminates.

ASSEMBLING YOUR CLEANER The cleaner should be switched
off and disconnected from the mains supply before you start to
assemble.
1. Connect the hose body connector to
the cleaner making sure it fits firmly.
2. Fit handle into the wand until it
clicks into place.
4. Push the wand into the power brush
until it clicks into place. To remove,
press button and separate.
3. Extend or reduce the length of the
wand by depressing button and
moving the slider.
5. To use the blower function, remove
rear filter cover and filter and fit
blower assembly.
6. Insert the hose into the blower outlet
until the catches click to engage.

replacement Guarantee against
manufacturing defects. In the case of
commercial users the period is 90
days. Brushes, Belts and Filters,
unless actually defective in
manufacture are not subject to this
guarantee since their length of life
depends upon usage and care given.
Any transportation costs involved in
the repair of the appliance or the
replacement of a defective part shall
be borne by the claimant. This
guarantee commences from the date
of purchase of the cleaner.
When properly used and cared for,
your new cleaner will render excellent
service, and therefore, the purchaser
should carefully read the Instruction
book, as misuse or failure to follow the
instructions makes the Guarantee
void. It also becomes void if the
product is used on an electric voltage
other than that shown on the Rating
Plate. E.H.A. Pty. Ltd is unable to
accept responsibility under this
guarantee for damage from repair
work carried out by other than
authorised Service Retailers or
Centres, or from the use of other than
genuine parts.
This guarantee does
not apply to the
cost of replacing any part of the
product due to normal wear and tear,
alteration, improper installation,
physical abuse, misuse or accident.

FILTER MAINTENANCE: The HEPA filter should be washed or
replaced whenever the filter indicator comes on with a red light or
every fifth dust bag. Do not use cleaner without filters fitted.
1. To remove Motor Filter, open
cleaner cover and lift bag holder.
2. Remove Motor Filter by holding
tab and pull out from holder.
4. To gain access to HEPA Filter and
Micro Filters, press rear cover
release latch and remove cover.
3. Before replacing Motor Filter,
remove any dust and refit new filter
securely in place.
5. Remove HEPA Filter, shake off any
dust and wash the dirty side under
warm tap water. Dry thoroughly.
6. Replace the 2 Micro Filters and
refit under filter cover, refit HEPA
Filter and close back securely.
