Precautions for using air conditioners R32
The initial installation process is the same as for conventional air conditioner models (R410A, R22),
however, please note and be careful with the following poin ts.:
Warning
Because the working pressure is higher than the working pressure of the R221.6 air servant
model, some pipes and fixtures and maintenance tools are different. (See section "2.1
Special Tools for Air Conditioning R32 (R410A)"), especially when replacing an R22 air
conditioner model with a new R32 air conditioner model, the door ducts and extension nuts
should be replaced with connecting ducts and nuts for R32 and R410A.
The R32 and R410A models have different sizes of spiral diameters to prevent the wrong
type of air conditioner from being incorporated into the R22, and for safety reasons, so it's
always a good idea to check first. [Air intakes R32 and R410A have 1/2 inch thread
diameters.]
Be more careful than the R22 air conditioning model, taking care not to let foreign objects
(such as oil, etc.) into the pipe.
In addition, when storing pipes, the opening should be tightly sealed, such as paste, tape,
etc. (The method for R32 is the same as for R410A).
4
- If the unventilated area is smaller than the minimum installation area, the air conditioner
should not be installed in this area.
- The installation height is the minimum installation height, that is, the minimum installation
height of the cold air pipe or indoor unit, whichever is the lowest. The following table is
determined according to the minimum installation height of 1.8 meters and 2.2 meters
- If the required minimum installation height is less than 1.8 meters, the minimum installation
space must be recalculated.

If mechanical ventilation is required, the vents must not be blocked by anything.
To dispose of this equipment, it should comply with national regulations and operate
normally.
2. Maintenance
2-1. Maintenance Officer
Caution
5
Individuals involved in operating or able to manage the air conditioning cycle should hold a
valid qualification issued by an industrial certification assessment body, which has the
authority to certify skills.
The ability to operate air conditioners safely according to instructions approved by industry
authorities
Maintenance and repairs requiring the assistance of qualified technicians must be carried
out under the supervision of technicians skilled in the use of flammable air conditioners.
Repairs can only be carried out according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
2-2. Working
Safety checks must be carried out before starting to operate flammable air conditioning
filling systems to ensure that the risk of flammability is minimized, and then precautions 2-2
to 2-8 should be followed when repairing the refrigeration system before operating the
system.
Work should be carried out in a well-controlled manner to minimize the risk of combustible
gases or vapors during operation.
All maintenance personnel and others working nearby must be aware of the work being
done.
You shouldn't work in tight Spaces.
The area around the work area should be separated.
Ensure safe working conditions in the area by controlling flammable materials.
2-3. Checking if there is air conditioner
Before and during operation, the area should be checked with a suitable air conditioning
detector in order to
Does the technician know if there are flammable substances in the workplace air
Ensure that the leak detection equipment used is suitable for flammable air condition ers.
For example, depending on the condition characteristics of the device, it does not produce
sparks, is sealed or secure.
2-4. Preparation of fire extinguishers
If heat is used for the operation of air conditioning equipment or any other component, fire
extinguishing equipment should be available at hand.
Prepare a dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher near the air conditioner filling area.
2-5. No fire source
Workers who use refrigeration systems for plumbing work or add air conditioning should not
use any fire source that could cause a fire or explosion.
All sources of combustible fire, including smoking, should be kept away from where
equipment is being installed, serviced, moved or handled, during which time air vapors may
be discharged into the surrounding area.
Before working, check the area around the equipment to ensure that there is no risk of
flammable or flammable hazards. Combustible materials should be labeled "No smoking".
2-6. Ventilated area
Make sure the area is open or well ventilated before entering the system or doing any high
heat work.
The ventilation level should work continuously during operation.
Ventilation should be safely ventilated to the air conditioning, and the air medicine is well
driven to the outside atmosphere.
2-7. Refrigeration Equipment Inspection
If electrical parts are replaced, they must be fit for use and meet the correct specifications.
Always follow the manufacturer's service and maintenance instructions.
If in doubt, please consult and assist the manufacturer's technical department.
The installation site checklist for the use of flammable air conditioners should be followed
as follows:
- The fill size will depend on the size of the room in which the air conditioner filler is installed.
6
- The equipment and vents are working properly and nothing is blocking them.
- If the air conditioner water circuit is used indirectly, check the presence of air conditioner
water.
- Text on the device must be clear and easy to read, and difficult-to-read text and symbols
should be corrected.
- Air conditioning ducts or components should be installed in a position where they will not
be corroded by any substance, unless these components are made of corrosion -resistant or
well-protected materials.
2-8. Electrical Equipment Inspection
Repair and maintenance of electrical components shall include a preliminary safety check
and component inspection procedure.
If an abnormal condition affecting safety is observed, electrical connections should not be
connected to the circuit until the fault is rectified.
If such an exception cannot be corrected immediately and work needs to be resumed, an
appropriate temporary solution should be used.
Any anomalies should be reported to the equipment owner so that all relevant parties can
be notified.
The initial security check should include:
- Check capacitor discharge: This should be done safely to avoid sparking.
- Check that no live electrical parts or wires remain open while refueling, servicing, or
draining air from the system.
- Check the continuity of the grounding.
3. Repair of sealing parts
When servicing sealed components, all power to the operating device must be cut off
before removing covered covers, etc.
If it is absolutely necessary to supply electricity to the device during maintenance, there
must be a leak monitoring method that works around the clock at the most critical point, to
warn of possible dangerous situations.
Special care should be taken to ensure that the housing does not undergo changes that
affect the level of hazard protection when electrical components are used. These problems
include broken wires, too many connections, electrical connectors that do not meet original
specifications, sealing materials, tearing, inserting improperly compressed bushings, etc.
Make sure the device is securely connected.
Ensure that the seal or sealing material used does not deteriorate to the extent that it
prevents air and water from leaking into the atmosphere.
Replacement parts must meet the manufacturer's specifications.
Detailed rules and regulations: The use of silicone sealants may reduce the effectiveness of
some leak detectors.
The internal safety components must not be removed before using such equipment.
4. Maintenance of internal safety components
Charging loads or permanent current-sensing loads should not be applied to circuits without
verification that exceed the voltage and current permitted by the air conditioner used.
When the air contains flammable substances, the internal safety components are the only
ones that can operate.
The test instrument shall have accurate coordinates.
Replace parts only with spare parts specified by the manufacturer.
If other spare parts are used, it may cause air conditioning water to leak into the
atmosphere and catch fire.
5. Wiring
Check the wiring to ensure that it is not subject to tearing, corrosion and extreme pressure.
Too sharp edge vibration or any other harsh environmental effects.
7
Such inspections should take into account the effects of service life or continuous vibration
from sources such as compressors or fans.
6. Detection of flammable air conditioners
Do not use fire sources to locate or detect air conditioning water leaks.
Do not use a leak detection flame head (or any other detection device that uses an open
flame).
7. How to detect leaks
An electronic leak detector should be used to detect flammable air conditioners, but the
sensitivity value may not be sufficient or may need to be recalibrated.
Make sure the leak detector is not a source of fire and is suitable for the air condition er
being used.
The leak detector should be set to a percentage of the air conditioner LFL and should be
calibrated with the air conditioner used to confirm the correct gas percentage (up to 25%).
Liquids with leak detection properties are suitable for most pharmaceutical applications and
chlorine-containing laundry water should not be used as chlorine may interact with air
conditioning and corrode copper pipes.
If a leak is suspected, extinguish or extinguish the fire.
If an air conditioner leak that requires soldering of pipes is found, all air conditioning water
must be transferred or separated from the system (by closing various valves and storing in
a part of the system away from such leaks).
Nitrogen gas (OFN) is used to remove air from the system before and during the bonding
process.
8. Air conditioner water transfer
General procedures should be followed when opening the air conditioning circuit for repair
or for any other purpose
However, it is important to follow best practices because of flammability and flammability
Something to remember
The following procedures should be followed:
o Air conditioning
o Use inert gases to remove air from the loop
o Rinse
o Revent the air with an inert gas.
o Open the circuit by cutting or brazing
Air conditioning refills should be pumped using appropriate drainage cylinders.
OFN should be used to "clean" the system to ensure system safety.
This procedure may need to be repeated several times.
Do not use compressed air or oxygen for this operation .
Flushing is completed by destroying the vacuum in the system using OFN, increasing the
vacuum to the pressure generated by the operation, then venting it into the atmosphere and
finally into the vacuum.
This process should be repeated several times until there is no air conditioning in the
system.
When the last OFN is added, the system should be drained to atmospheric pressure in
order to be able to work.
This work is especially important when welding on pipes.
Ensure that the outlet of the vacuum pump is not near any fire source and can be ventilated.
9. Guidelines for refilling the air conditioner
In addition to general refueling practices, the following regulations should be followed:
o When using air conditioning filling equipment, ensure that different types of air
conditioning are free from contamination.
o Hoses or hoses should be as short as possible to minimize the amount of air fluid
contained in such hoses and hoses.
8
o The air conditioner transfer cylinder should be kept upright.
o Be sure to ground the cooling system before adding the air conditioner to the system.
o When filling is complete, close the system label (if it is not already there).
o Be very careful not to add too much air conditioning to the cooling system.
OFN should be used to test the pressure before adding air conditioning to the system.
After the air conditioner is full, check the system for leaks before use.
Check for releaks before leaving the installation site.
10. Deactivating the system
Before performing this exercise, it is very important that the technician thorou ghly
understand the equipment and its details
It is important to remove all air conditioners safely
Prior to this, air and oil samples should be analyzed before the pumped air is reused
It is important to have available electricity before starting the operation
a) Must know the equipment and its operation.
b) Electrical isolation system.
c) Before following the Code of Conduct, ensure that:
There are devices for managing the various mechanisms of the air
conditioning transfer cylinder
All personal protective equipment should be provided and properly worn
The process of pumping out the air conditioner must be supervised by
qualified technicians at all times
Air conditioning drainage equipment and cylinders must meet the required
standards
d) Drug aspiration if possible.
e) If there is no vacuum, use combined hoses to draw air conditioning water from
different parts of the system.
f) Make sure the cylinder is set correctly before pumping.
g) Start pump and follow manufacturer's instructions.
h) Do not allow the cylinder to overflow (not more than 80% of the liquid air volume).
i) Do not expose the cylinder to excessive working pressure, even temporarily.
j) When the cylinder is filled as planned and the process is complete, ensure that th e
cylinder and its equipment are removed from the working area and the isolation
valve located on the equipment is closed.
k) The pumped air conditioner shall not be re-injected into another cooling system
unless the system has been cleaned and inspected.
11. Close tag
Signs on appliances should be turned off to indicate that the system is turned off and the air
conditioning water has been used up.
Signs should be dated and marked.
Make sure the label on the appliance indicates that the air conditioner is flammable.
12. Reparation
When draining the air conditioner from the system, whether for maintenance or to
deactivate the system, it is important to take out all the air conditioner water safely.
When transferring air conditioner to cylinders, be sure to use only suitable air conditioner
cylinders.
Ensure that the number of cylinders suitable for all air-filled systems is sufficient.
All cylinders used to drain the air conditioner should be determined and the indicator sign
should be closed (for example, a special cylinder for pumping air conditioner water out of
the system).
The cylinder should be equipped with a pressure reducing valve and work in the correct
working sequence relative to the open valve.
9
If possible, the cylinders used to pump the air conditioner should be flushed from a system
that does not contain the air conditioner and cooled before starting to pump the air
conditioner from the system.
The equipment used to pump air conditioning water from the system should be placed in
the correct working order, the documentation shows that the working procedures for the
equipment are at hand, and the equipment used to pump air conditioning water from the
system should be suitable for pumping flammable air conditioning from the system.
In addition, the scale should be calibrated and placed in the correct working order.
Pipes shall have leak-free joints in good condition.
Before using the pump, check that the pump is in the correct working condition, that the
pump is kept in good condition, and that the associated electrical components are sealed to
prevent air conditioning from discharging. If there is a concern, it is better to consult the
manufacturer.
Air conditioners withdrawn from the system should be placed in the air conditioner transfer
canisters removed from the system and returned to the air conditioner dealer, and waste
transfer documents should be prepared in accordance with regulations
Do not mix air conditioning in the pump, especially in the cylinder.
If the compressor or compressor oil flows, make sure to clean the compressor or
compressor oil to an acceptable level to ensure that flammable air conditioning does not
remain in the lubricant.
The cleaning process should be carried out before the compressor returns to the distributor.
The compressor housing can only be electrically heated to speed up this process.
When removing oil from the system, it should be done safely.
Precautions for using R32 refrigerant
The basic installation work procedures are the same as the conventional refrigerant (R22 or R410A).
However, pay attention to the following points:
WARNING
1. Transport of equipment containing flammable refrigerants.
Attention is drawn to the fact that additional transportation regulations may exist with respect to equipment
containing flammable gas. The maximum number of pieces of equipment or the configuration of the equipment,
permitted to be transported together will be determined by the applicable transport regulations.
2. Marking of equipment using signs
Signs for similar appliances (containing flammable refrigerants) used in a work area generally are addressed by
local regulations and give the minimum requirements for the provision of safety and/or health signs for a work
location. All required signs are to be maintained and employers should ensure that employees receive suitable
and sufficient instruction and training on the meaning of appropriate safety signs and the actions that need to be
taken in connection with these signs.
The effectiveness of signs should not be diminished by too many signs being placed together. Any pictograms
used should be as simple as possible and contain only essential details.
3. Disposal of equipment using flammable refrigerants
Compliance with national regulations
4. Storage of equipment/appliances
The storage of equipment should be in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Storage of packed (unsold) equipment
•Storage package protection should be constructed such that mechanical damage to the equipment inside the
package will not cause a leak of the refrigerant charge.
•The maximum number of pieces of equipment permitted to be stored together will be determined by local
regulations.
6. Information on servicing
6-1 Checks to the area
Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to ensure
that the risk of ignition is minimized. For repair to the refrigerating system, the following precautions should be
complied with prior to conducting work on the system.
6-2 Work procedure

• If any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appropriate fire
extinguishing equipment shall be available to hand.
• Have a dry powder or CO fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.
2
6-6 No ignition sources
• No person carrying out work in relation to a refrigeration system which involves exposing any pipe work that
contains or has contained flammable refrigerant shall use any sources of ignition in such a manner that it may
lead to the risk of fire or explosion.
All possible ignition sources, including cigarette smoking, should be kept sufficiently far away from the site of
installation, repairing, removing and disposal, during which flammable refrigerant can possibly be released to the
surrounding space.
the area around the equipment is to be surveyed to make sure that there are noPrior to work taking place,
flammable hazards or ignition risks. “No Smoking” signs shall be displayed.
6-7 Ventilated area
• Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or
conducting any hot work.
A degree of ventilation shall continue during the period that the work is carried out.
• The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the
air.
Safety Precautions
10
6-8 Checks to the refrigeration equipment
• Where electrical components are being changed, they shall be fit for the purpose and to the correct specification.
At all times the manufacturer's maintenance and service guidelines shall be followed. If in doubt consult the
manufacturer's technical department for assistance.

WARNING
10. Detection of flammable refrigerants
• Under no circumstances shall potential sources of ignition be used in the searching for or detection of
refrigerant leaks.
A halide torch (or any other detector using a naked flame) shall not be used.
11. Leak detection methods
The following leak detection methods are deemed acceptable for systems containing flammable refrigerants:
• Electronic leak detectors shall be used to detect flammable refrigerants, but the sensitivity may not be
adequate, or may need re-calibration. (Detection equipment shall be calibrated in a refrigerant-free area.)
• Ensure that the detector is not a potential source of ignition and is suitable for the refrigerant used.
• Leak detection equipment shall be set at a percentage of the LFL of the refrigerant and shall be calibrated to
the refrigerant employed and the appropriate percentage of gas (25 % maximum) is confirmed.
• Leak detection fluids are suitable for use with most refrigerants but the use of detergents containing
chlorine shall be avoided as the chlorine may react with the refrigerant and corrode the copper pipe-work.
• If a leak is suspected, all naked flames shall be removed/ extinguished.
• If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be recovered from the
system, or isolated (by means of shut off valves) in a part of the system remote from the leak.
• Oxygen free nitrogen (OFN) shall then be purged through the system both before and during the brazing
process.
12. Removal and evacuation
• When breaking into the refrigerant circuit to make repairs – or for any other purpose
–conventional procedures shall be used.
• However, it is important that best practice is followed since flammability is a consideration.
• The following procedure shall be adhered to:
Remove refrigerant;
Purge the circuit with inert gas;
Evacuate;
Purge again with inert gas;
Open the circuit by cutting or brazing.
• The refrigerant charge shall be recovered into the correct recovery cylinders.
• The system shall be “flushed” with to render the unit safe.OFN
• This process may need to be repeated several times.
• Compressed air or oxygen shall not be used for this task.
• Flushing shall be achieved by breaking the vacuum in the system with OFN and continuing to fill until the
working pressure is achieved, then venting to atmosphere, and finally pulling down to a vacuum.
• This process shall be repeated until no refrigerant is within the system. When the final OFN charge is used,
the system shall be vented down to atmospheric pressure to enable work to take place.
• This operation is absolutely vital if brazing operations on the pipe-work are to take place.
• Ensure that the outlet for the vacuum pump is not close to any ignition sources and there is ventilation available.
13. Charging procedures
• In addition to conventional charging procedures, the following requirements shall be followed:
- Ensure that contamination of different refrigerants does not occur when using charging equipment.
- Hoses or lines shall be as short as possible to minimize the amount of refrigerant contained in them.
- Cylinders shall be kept upright.
- Ensure that the refrigeration system is earthed prior to charging the system with refrigerant.
- Label the system when charging is complete (if not already).
- Extreme care shall be taken not to overfill the refrigeration system.
- Prior to recharging the system it shall be pressure tested with OFN.
• The system shall be tested for leak on completion of charging but prior to commissioning.
shall be carried out before leaving the site.A follow up leak test
14. Decommissioning
Before carrying out this procedure, it is essential that the technician is completely familiar with the equipment
and all its details.
It is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are recovered safely.

system.
f) Make sure that cylinder is situated on the scales before recovery takes place.
g) Start the recovery machine and operate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
h) Do not overfill cylinders. (No more than 80 % volume liquid charge).
I) Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder, even temporarily.
j) When the cylinders have been filled correctly and the process completed, make sure that the cylinders and
the equipment are removed from site promptly and all isolation valves on the equipment are closed off.
k) Recovered refrigerant shall not be charged into another refrigeration system unless it has
been cleaned and checked.
15. Labelling
Equipment shall be labelled stating that it has been de-commissioned and emptied of refrigerant.
The label shall be dated and signed.
Ensure that there are labels on the equipment stating the equipment contains flammable refrigerant.
16. Recovery
• When removing refrigerant from a system, either for servicing or decommissioning, it is recommended good
practice that all refrigerants are removed safely.
• When transferring refrigerant into cylinders, ensure that only appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders are
employed.
• Ensure that the correct number of cylinders for holding the total system charge is available.
All cylinders to be used are designated for the recovered refrigerant and labelled for that refrigerant (i.e.
special cylinders for the recovery of refrigerant).
• Cylinders shall be complete with pressure relief valve and associated shut-off valves in good working order.
• Empty recovery cylinders are evacuated and, if possible, cooled before recovery occurs.
• The recovery equipment shall be in good working order with a set of instructions concerning the equipment
that is at hand and shall be suitable for the recovery of flammable refrigerants.
• In addition, a set of calibrated weighing scales shall be available and in good working order.
• Hoses shall be complete with leak-free disconnect couplings and in good condition.
• Before using the recovery machine, check that it is in satisfactory working order, has been properly
maintained and that any associated electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition in the event of a
refrigerant release.
• Consult manufacturer if in doubt.
• The recovered refrigerant shall be returned to the refrigerant supplier in the correct recovery cylinder, and
the relevant Waste Transfer Note arranged.
• Do not mix refrigerants in recovery units and especially not in cylinders.
• If compressors or compressor oils are to be removed, ensure that they have been evacuated to an
acceptable level to make certain that flammable refrigerant does not remain within the lubricant.
• The evacuation process shall be carried out prior to returning the compressor to the suppliers.
• Only electric heating to the compressor body shall be employed to accelerate this process.
• When oil is drained from a system, it shall be carried out safely.

Operation Manual
Special remarks
Cooling operation
The fan of the indoor unit will never stop running in cooling operation. It continues to operate even if the
compressor stops working.
Heating operation
Heating capacity depends on external factors like outdoor unit temperature. Heating capacity might decrease
if outdoor ambient temperature is too low.
Anti-freezing function during cooling
When the air temperature from the indoor outlet is too low, the unit will run for some time under the fan mode,
to avoid frost or ice forming on the indoor heat exchanger.
Cold air prevention
Within several minutes after the heating mode is selected, the fan of the indoor unit will not run until the heat
exchanger of the indoor unit reaches a certain temperature to prevent cold draft.
Defrosting
When the outdoor temperature is too low, ice may form on the outdoor heat exchanger, reducing heating
performance. When this happens, the defrost cycle of the system will start. During the defrost cycle, the indoor
unit fan stops (or runs at a very low speed in some cases), to prevent cold draft.
Once the defrost cycle is complete, heating operation and the fan speed resume.
Discharging the residual heating air
When stopping the air conditioner in normal operation, the fan motor will run with low speed for a while to
blow out the residual hot air.
Auto restart from power outage
When the power supply is recovered after power outage, all presets still be in effect and the system will
run according to the previous settings.
3-minute protection after the compressor stops
To protect compressor, the system implements a 3 minutes once operation is stopped.
5 minute-protection
Compressor must run for at least 5 minutes once operation starts. During the 5 minutes, compressor will not
stop even after set point is reached. The system will shut off if manually turned off using the remote controller.
