Shut off the main water supply.

1. Install the Showerhead
Install a 1/2″ pipe nipple to extend 5/8″ (1.6 cm) beyond the
finished wall.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant to the back of
the shower arm according to the putty manufacturer’s
instructions.
Thread the shower arm to the pipe nipple.
Use a clean strap wrench to securely tighten the shower arm.
Remove any excess plumbers putty.
Run hot and cold water through the shower arm to flush out dirt
and debris.
Apply thread sealant to the shower arm adapter.
Thread the showerhead to the shower arm.
Use a clean strap wrench to tighten the showerhead.
Check for proper operation.
