Pressure Governor Quick Start Guide
Use the appropriate Innovative Controls 4000675 series wiring harnesses for your
application. Install the Fire Pressure Governor wiring harnesses on the rear of the unit
and connect the vehicle power, interlocks, pump pressure sensors, and engine CAN
network or analog control signals to the field wiring side of the cable harnesses.
The illustration below shows the six different standard FPG cable harnesses:

MOUNTING
WIRING
During power up the FPG displays the installed software version, and the current
date and time. After initialization the FPG goes into READY mode by default.
Verify that the Throttle Ready and OK to Pump interlocks operate correctly using the
LED indicators and Status display on the front panel of the FPG.
The Status display will show OK to PUMP when both the Throttle Ready and Pump
Engaged interlock inputs are active. If the engine is communicating correctly with the
FPG the engine speed will be shown in the RPM display, otherwise the Status display
will show NO J1939 ENGINE COMM.
The Engine Temperature, Oil Pressure, and Transmission Temperature, and Battery
icons will all be green if their conditions are normal. A yellow or red icon is an
indicates a problem and additional information will be shown on the Status display.
Press the PRESSURE button to place the FPG in pump pressure control mode.
Press the RPM button to place the FPG in engine speed control mode. Use the
rotary knob, or the + and – buttons to adjust the pump pressure or engine speed
setpoints.
The PRESET button is used to set the pump pressure or engine speed to a pre-pro-
grammed setting. The IDLE button causes the FPG to slow the engine to curb idle
speed and return to READY mode.

PRESSURE SENSORS
Use Innovative Controls pressure sensor
part numbers 3050471 or 3050472 for
300 or 600 PSI full scale discharge
pressure measurement. Use the 3050473
or 3050474 pressure sensor for 300 or 600
PSI intake pressure measurement. Install the
pump discharge pressure sensor on the
discharge manifold side of the pump.
Install the pump intake pressure sensors on
the intake manifold side of the pump when
applicable.

CONFIGURATION MODE
The FPG has configuration parameters that are used to customize the operation for a variety of pumps, engine controls, and fire
department Standard Operating Procedures.
With the FPG in READY mode, press and hold the PRESET and IDLE or STATUS buttons for five seconds to place the FPG into
Configuration mode. When the FPG is in Configuration mode the engine speed display will show a “P” and the parameter number
being edited. Pressing the RPM mode button increments the displayed parameter number, the PRESSURE button decrements the
parameter number. Use the knob or the + and – buttons to adjust the displayed parameter.
Press the PRESET button to store changes made to a configuration parameter.
Press IDLE or STATUS to exit the Configuration mode and return to the Ready mode.
Before operating the FPG it may be necessary to adjust the following configuration parameters:
16 - DISCHARGE SENSOR = 300 or 600PSI
18 – DISCHARGE SENSOR ZERO CALIBRATION
There are currently 74 different configuration parameters listed below.
