be carried out by a qualied technician trained by Hoval.
The system may only be put into operation if all relevant
standards and safety regulations have been complied
with. At least the following conditions must be satised
for a trial operation:
The comfort ventilation unit must be mounted
securely and vibration-free
One silencer each must be tted for supply air and
extract air (fresh air and exhaust air recommended).
The comfort ventilation unit must be connected in
accordance with the rules of ventilation engineering.
All ducts must be checked for leaks.
The outlets for supply and exhaust air, as well as for
drawing in extract air and fresh air must be clean
and unobstructed.
The prelter must be clean.
The operator terminal must be connected to the
comfort ventilation unit.

2.9 Filter cover lock
The lters are supplied secured with a metal sheet (1).
This securing sheet (1) is used for preventing the lter
cover being forced out on the rear side when the unit is
installed. These securing seats can be removed on the
front side.
2.10 Insulating the lines
The fresh air and exhaust air duct must be insulated to
prevent diffusion in order to avoid heat losses as well as
any condensation build-up. If installed in an unheated
room, the supply air and extract air duct must also be
insulated to prevent diffusion. The thickness of the insu-
lation depends on the insulation material, air conditions
(outdoors and indoors) as well as the country-specic
regulations.
Caution:
If the insulation is inadequate, incorrectly or
incompletely applied, both the building and
the unit may suffer damage. In such cases,
Hoval will decline any liability and warranty.
3. Installation
3.1 Requirements on the installation location
All HomeVent® comfort ventilation units provide centra-
lised supply and extract air handling for a residential
unit. This can be a single family home or an apartment
in a multi-family house. Ofce rooms, conference rooms
and cloakrooms are also ideal applications. HomeVent®
comfort FR (201), (251) and (301) are allowed to be in-
stalled inside or outside the building. The unit (including
ventilation pipes) must be installed where it is protected
against the weather. The following application limits are
to be observed.
ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
3.1.1 Application limits
Einsatzgrenzen für Geräteaufstellung,
wettergeschützt (EN 60721-3-3)
3K5 nach EN 50090-2-2
Application limits for equipment installation,
with weather protection (EN 60721-3-3)
3K5 acc. to EN 50090-2-2
Ambient temperature -16…45 °C
Ambient temperature (rel. humidity) 5…95%
• Dewpoint temp. in the installation room < 15 °C
Air conditions
(moderate outdoor climate EN 60721-2-1)
• Fresh air inlet temperature -20…40 °C
• Fresh air inlet humidity 5…95% r.H.
• Extract air temperature 5…35 °C
• Extract air humidity 5…80% r.H.
• Extract air humidity max. 12 g/kg
3.2 Connections
The particular air ow direction is indicated directly on
the comfort ventilation unit.
3.3 Electrical connections
The supplied connection cable must be connected to
the unit and in the socket once the insulation has been
completed.
3.3.1 Main fuse
This applies for all HomeVent® FR of the new
generation: Main fuse, Item No..: 268 378, 2 ampere
4. Commissioning
The HomeVent® comfort FR (201), (251) and (301) must
be taken into operation according to the supplied opera-
ting instructions.
4.1 Handover to the system operator
The following points must be carried out on the
handover to the plant owner:
Instruction in operation and maintenance of the plant
Handover all instructions and documents
Written conrmation of the instruction
(see next page)
