INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR GA6096 FIREBOX

POLISHED BRASS HOOD ACCESSORY

Fits RUV32, UV32C, FB32C and FB32NC Series

NOTE: Read this entire instruction sheet before installing the fireplace hood. If the hood is

damaged, contact the dealer where you purchased this accessory or DESA Heating Prod-

ucts at 1-866-672-6040 for referral information.

NOTICE: If replacing an existing hood on your firebox, be sure this gas log heater is

turned off and the hood has had time to cool. The hood becomes very hot when the

firebox is in use.

NOTE:

The fireplace screen must be removed prior

to installing hood.

REMOVING EXISTING FIREBOX HOOD:

1. Using a Phillips Head screwdriver, remove the

two screws from the bottom of the existing

firebox hood (

see Figure 1

). Save the screws.

2. Pull the firebox hood down and then straight out

to remove the hood from the firebox.

3. Remove the three shoulder screws from the

back of the hood using a 5/16” socket or nut

driver. Save the shoulder screws.

INSTALLING FIREBOX HOOD

1. Remove the protective film from the brass hood.

2. Attach the three shoulder screws to back of the

brass hood.

3. Insert hood into hood-mounting slots on firebox.

4. Hold hood in place. Insert the two black Phillip

screws through bottom of hood and tighten

5 Re-install fireplace screen

WARNING: The GA6096 Hood may only be used on RUV32, UV32C, FB32C and

FB32NC series fireboxes. This hood may not be used on any other firebox.
