IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should be
followed, including the followings:
1. Read all instruction carefully, even if you are familiar with this
kind of appliance and SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS for future
reference.
2. Do not touch hot surface.
3. To protect against electric shock, DO NOT IMMERSE any part of
this appliance in water or other liquid.
4. The appliance must be installed by adults.
5. This appliance is not intended for use by children or infirm
person unless they have been adequately supervised by a
responsible person to ensure they can use the appliance safely.
6. Close supervision is required when any appliance is used by or
near children.
7. The appliance has removable parts (melting pot), please be
extra attention when using around children.
8. Never leave an appliance unattended when in use.
9. Do not use any electric appliance outdoors. This product is
intended for household use only.
10. Do not let cords hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot
surface.
11. Do not use this appliance with an extension cord to maximize
your safety.
12. Store the unit indoors in a dry location.
13. Do not operate or place the appliance on or near hot surface,
such as gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

14. To disconnect, turn off the power then remove plug from wall
outlet – Do not pull lead.
15. Do not attempt to repair, dissemble this appliance. There are no
user-serviceable parts.
16. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners or oven cleaners to
clean this appliance.
17. Unplug the Cotton Candy Maker from outlet when not in use and
allow unit to cool thoroughly before cleaning.
18. Do not operate the machine if the machine itself or the cable or
the plug shown any damage.
19. The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an
earthing contact.
20. This appliance is not intended for used by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliances by a person responsible for their safety.
21. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE FIRST USE
Wash the transparent cover, bowl, extractor head and spoon with
warm soapy water. Rinse and dry all parts thoroughly. DO NOT
IMMERSE MAIN BODY IN WATER!
PREPARING TO USE
1. Remove the Cotton Candy Maker and
all accessories out of the packing.
2. Wash extractor head, bowl, cover and
spoon in warm water and swipe with a
moist cloth.
3. Vertically fit the bowl onto the main unit.
Then turn the bowl anti-clockwise to
lock the bowl to the body as per (Fig.
A).
4. Install the extractor head (Fig. B). Be
sure to push the extractor head
downward firmly.
WARNING: Improper fixing the
extractor head may result in failure
to produce Cotton Candy or will
result in excessive vibration.
5. Snap the transparent cover onto the top
of the bowl securely.
6. Place the unit on a flat level surface.
7. Plug the power cord into a mains
supply and ready to use.
HOW TO OPERATE
1. Switch on the unit and allow it to
pre-heat for 5 minutes. Then switch it
off.
2. Pour one scoop of pure granulated
sugar evenly into the center of the
extractor head as per (Fig. C). (Please
use the scoop supplied with the unit, or
you may use one level tablespoon.)
IMPORTANT NOTE
y Be careful of hot extractor head.
y Use only pure granulated sugar for this cotton candy maker.
y Use of other sugar may fail to produce cotton candy.
y Do not use sugar mixed with other materials such as coffee
or dry milk. It will cause a blockage of the extractor head.
y Never use materials other than pure granulated sugar, such
as salt etc.
3. Switch “ON” the appliance again. Extractor head begins to rotate
and be heated up by the red-hot heating element underneath.
4. Cotton candy will start to come out in 3 minutes after the unit is
turned on. Wind cotton candy on the paper cone (supplied).
TIPS TO WIND A SPONGY COTTON
CANDY
With the paper cone in vertical position, turn
the paper cone along the inside of the bowl
several times as (Fig. D). Then lay the
paper cone horizontally above the
transparent cover and rotate it continuously
above the extractor head to wind cotton
candy as (Fig. E).
5. After cotton candy is made, switch the unit
off.
6. To make more cotton candy, repeat the
above steps.
NOTE: Sugar should only be put in when the extractor head has
come to stop completely.
SPECIAL CAUTIONS
y Do not fill sugar in the moving extractor head.
y Always switch off the machine when not in use.
y Burnt sugar clogged inside the extractor head in the prior use may
cause imbalance on rotation. This may cause noisy or vibration of
the unit with resulting in damage.
y The extractor head works at high temperature and high speed. To
reduce the risk of injury, never touch with hands, spoons or other
things. Be careful of your wearing tie and long hair that may be
trapped and winded up on the turning extractor head.
y The extractor head will keep hot for a period (approximately 15
minutes) after switching off. Keep hands off and the reach of
children to reduce the risk of burn.
y Do not force stopping the rotating head with paper cone or spoon.
It may cause injury or damage to the unit.
y Be sure the bowl and cover are securely engaged when in use.
y Do not use on a carpet.
y Do not put hands in bowl while operating.
y Always operate the cotton candy maker in ambient temperature
ranged 10°C - 35°C. Cotton candy may not be produced at low
temperature.
y Do not switch on the Cotton Candy Maker without the extractor
head in place.
y Switch “OFF” and unplug the power cord when it is not in use.
CLEAN AND CARE INSTRUCTION
HOW TO CLEAN
Before cleaning any electrical appliance, always make sure that plug
has been removed from the main supply outlet. Never immerse the
appliance in water or liquid. Do not clean any part of the Cotton
Candy Maker with gasoline, kerosene, glass or furniture polish or
paint thinner.
CLEANING THE BOWL
Turn the bowl clockwise to detach from the base.
Wash the cover, bowl with cold or warm water. Dry the surface
completely.
CLEANING THE EXTRACTOR HEAD
y Remove the extractor head as per (Fig. F)
after it is cool to avoid the risk of burn.
y Wash the extractor head with warm or hot
water. It can be easier to clean by soaking it
in water before washing.
y Use soft cloth to clean.
y Never use scrubbing brush to scratch the
surface.
y Dry the extractor head completely. Do not
drop or bend the extractor head.
y Thoroughly remove any burnt or clogged sugar from the extractor
head as it will cause unbalance in high speed turning.
CLEANING THE PROTECTIVE METAL HOUSING
y Use a soft cloth to clean the body and protective metal housing.
y Do not use scrubbing brush to clean the surface, otherwise it will
scratch the body or damage the unit.
PLUG & CORD INSTRUCTION
1. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of
becoming entangled in or tripped over a long cord.
2. Extension cords may be used if extra care is exercised in their
use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electric rating of the
extension cord must be at least greater than the electrical rating of
the appliance. Moreover, the cord must be arranged so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over unintentionally.
Plug Fitting
This appliance is supplied with a fitted plug; however if you should
need to fit a new plug follow the instruction below.
IIMPORTANT:
The wires in the mains lead are
colored in accordance with the
following code:
Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live
Green/Yellow = Ground
The Brown wire must be connected
to the Live terminal, marked L, in
the plug. The Blue wire must be
connected to the Neutral terminal,
marked N, in the plug.
Green/Yellow wire must be
connected to the earth terminal of
the plug.
The plug must be fused with a 13 amp fuse.
NOTE: If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by a
service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid
hazard.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of
them as waste. All tools and packaging should be
sorted, taken to the local recycling centre and disposed
of in an environmentally safe way. In the interest of
protecting the environment please do not dispose of the
appliance with your normal domestic rubbish. Disposal should take
place at a qualified service centre or at an official waste collection
site.
GUARANTEE
This product is selected for DOMESTIC USE ONLY and not for
business use. This product is guaranteed against manufacturing
defects for a period of 12 months. This does not cover the product
where the fault is due to misuse, abuse, use in contravention of the
instructions, or where the product has been the subject of
unauthorised modifications or alterations, or has been the subject of
commercial use. In the event of a problem with the product within the
guarantee period please return it to your nearest Argos store. If the
item is shown to have an inherent defect present at the time of sale,
the store will provide you with a replacement. Your statutory rights
remain unaffected.
