ISSPRO 5” DIA. IGNITION TACHOMETER WITH MEMORY
HIGH PERFORMANCE EV LINE
PART NUMBER 55120
OVERVIEW:
This is an electronic ignition tachometer with the additional function of recording the previously
attained highest RPM. Memory is retained for 20 minutes or until erased. Toggle and pushbutton
switches are provided on the front lens for memory recall and erasing of memory.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
OPERATING VOLTAGE:
11-18 VDC
INPUT SIGNAL:
Ignitions using distributor and ignition coil. These units will not work with individual
ignition coil per cylinder systems.
PROGRAMMING RANGE:
4, 6 or 8 cylinder supported.
TRANSIENT PROTECTION:
Conforms to SAE J1810 specifications for steady state and electrical transient testing.
THIS UNIT HAS BEEN REVERSE POLARITY PROTECTED
INSTALLATION:
Make all connections to the tachometer before applying power.
Connect the tachometer wiring as follows:
Red wire: Ignition voltage (Only has power when Ignition switch is ON).
Negative ground systems only.
Black wire: Ground wire.
Blue wire: Ignition input. Connect to the negative ignition coil terminal or the “tach” output
terminal on the ignition coil (if applicable).
White wire: Dashboard illumination.
CALIBRATION:
Setting a multi position slide switch to the number of cylinders configures the tachometer. The
switch is located under a plate on the rear of the unit and is accessible by removing two screws
(Refer to illustration).
Move the switch so that the switch handle is under the correct cylinder number shown on the

OPERATION:
Refer to Figure #3.
The memory tachometer will operate in a normal manner with the front toggle switch in the
“TACH” position and will be recording the maximum attained RPM. Changing the toggle switch
to the “MEMORY” position will move the needle to the stored RPM. Pressing the “PUSH TO
RESET” button erases the tachometer memory.
NOTE: Memory is valid for 20 minutes. Maximum RPM may be shown slower if checked after
the 20-minute period.
