Autotether Marine Lanyard-free Wireless Kill Switch
Getting Started*
1. Locate a flat surface within 12 inches of your vessel’s emergency
stop (kill) switch.
2. Make sure the mounting area is clearly visible to the vessel operator
while at the helm
3. Before securing Dual Locks perform a LOCATION TEST
Determine which motor clip you need and secure the clip onto the
actuator. You will hear it click in.
o The Autotether Marine comes supplied with a Mercury and Yamaha clip.
Autotether, LLC carries clips for all boat kill switches including OMC1,
OMC2, Honda, Suzuki and Mercury Side Mount. To order these
specialty clips go to www.autotether.com
Remove the original red cord lanyard on the kill switch
Push the actuator clip at the end of the Host receiver unit onto the
kill switch The plunger pin inside the end clip needs to be fully
compressed and locked. You will hear it click.
Press the recessed ON/OFF button on each sensor; the light on
each sensor should illuminate a steady green
Press the POWER button on the Host receiver unit. This will
automatically initiate a system check, a battery test and it will
search for the active Sensor(s).
The Host receiver will flash green for 3 minutes as it recognizes
each Sensor. Sensor LED 1,2,3,4 will only come on if a
corresponding sensor is turned on.
After 3 minutes, the Reset light and the Sensor lights on the Host
receiver will go out.
The Power light on Host receiver and the LED on the Sensor
will continue to flash every 4 seconds to indicate that the
system is operational
While the vessel is stationary move around it to make sure the
system operates properly
Move the Host receiver on the dashboard to a location that allows
for good operation
Once the location test is completed and a location is determined,
wipe the surface dry and peel the backing off of the Dual Lock
strips and carefully position the Host receiver unit into place
o The Host receiver and Sensor(s) come pre-set from the factory for
normal operation; however they can be tuned for specific purposes. For
more details regarding Sensor programming, download the operator
manual from www.autotether.com.

Turn on Host receiver and Sensor(s) to be used
Press and hold ON/OFF button for 3 seconds on the Sensor to be
tested
The Sensor will be solid green and the Host receiver will be solid
red for full alarm mode
The Host receiver senses a MOB condition (signal is lost) The
alarm sounds and the stop (kill) switch is triggered
Press the RESET button on the Host receiver to silence the alarm
and re-engage the actuator clip on the stop (kill) switch
Press the Host receiver POWER button to re-set the system
5. Repeat the system check for each Sensor
6. A SYSTEM DISTANCE CHECK should be performed dockside with
the vessel engine(s) OFF before initially getting underway
Take one activated Sensor and walk away from the vessel until the
Host receiver alarm sounds. There should be a clear line of sight
between the Host receiver and the Sensor
The Sensor light will go from flashing green to steady green when

Return to the vessel and press the RESET button on the Host
receiver to silence the alarm and reattach the actuator to the kill
