Thank you for purchasing the CD/MP3 Boombox Player. Unpack the unit and make sure to put aside
all accessories so they will not be lost. We recommend that you retain the original carton and
packaging materials for future use, should you transport or ship the unit in the future.

AC Operation
Before operating the unit, make sure that the voltage on the unit corresponds to the voltage of your
local area. Unravel the AC Line Cord; insert one end into an AC socket on the unit and the other end
into a standard AC outlet.
1. In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge (ESD), reset the unit by reconnecting the AC
cord again to resume to normal operation.
2. When not in use, unplug the AC power cord from the AC power socket.
Battery Operation
Disconnect the AC Cord. Open the BATTERY COMPARTMENT and insert 8 x UM-2/C batteries (not
included) making sure that the battery polarity (+/-) is observed.
Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period of time.
Antenna
For best FM reception, fully extend the FM ANTENNA. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in
antenna, turn the whole unit for best reception.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO
Slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to the AM or FM position. Turn the TUNING KNOB to your desired radio
station. Adjust the sound level by rotating the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB. To turn off the radio, simply
slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to OFF position.
Note: Radio frequency is shown on the Display.
LISTENING TO CDs DISC
Open the CD DOOR, place a CD disc into the CD COMPARTMENT and close the CD DOOR. Set the
FUNCTION SWITCH to the CD/AUX/MP3-IN/USB position. Adjust the sound level by rotating the
VOLUME CONTROL KNOB.
Note: Before playing a CD make sure the CD DOOR is properly closed.
LISTENING TO MP3 PLAYBACK
Open the CD DOOR, place a MP3 playback disc into the CD COMPARTMENT and close the CD
DOOR. Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to the CD/AUX/MP3-IN/USB position. Adjust the sound level by
rotating the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB.
Note: Before playing a MP3 playback disc make sure the CD DOOR is properly closed.
AUDIO CD PLAYBACK
1. When the CD DOOR is closed and a CD is inside, the total number
of the tracks in the disc show on the LCD SCREEN and will enter
Stop mode. The CD indicator will always show on the LCD SCREEN
when the unit is in CD mode.
2. If there has no disc inside, the LCD SCREEN will show “ d” and
remain in Stop mode.
3. If the CD DOOR is not closed, the LCD SCREEN will show “OP”.
PLAY/PAUSE MODE
1. When the PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON is pressed during CD stop
mode, the first track will play. The Play Indicator “ will show on the
LCD SCREEN. The LCD SCREEN will also show the number of
the track playing.
2. For interruption while the CD is playing, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE/
USB BUTTON once. Playback is now paused, the Play Indicator “
and the number of track will blink continuously on the LCD SCREEN.
3. Though the sound stops, the disc will continue to spin. To re-start playback, press the
PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON again. The music will start from the exact position where it was
interrupted.

4. To stop the CD, press the STOP BUTTON once in Play or Pause mode. The LCD SCREEN will
show the total number of tracks on the disc again.
5. To turn off the unit, slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to OFF position.
AUDIO MP3 PLAYBACK
1. When the CD DOOR is closed and a MP3 playback disc is inside,
the total number of the tracks in the disc show on the LCD SCREEN
and will enter Stop mode. The MP3 indicator will always show on the
LCD SCREEN when the SX-3209MU is in MP3 mode.
2. If there has no disc inside, the LCD SCREEN will show “ d” and
remain in Stop mode.
3. If the CD DOOR is not closed, the LCD SCREEN will show “OP”.
PLAY/PAUSE MODE
1. When the PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON is pressed during MP3 stop
Mode, the first track will play. The Play Indicator “ will show on the
LCD SCREEN. The LCD SCREEN will also show the number of the
track playing and the folder.
2. For interruption while the MP3 playback disc is playing, press the CD
PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON once. Playback is now paused, the Play
Indicator “” and the number of track will blink continuously on the
LCD SCREEN.

Noted: In MP3 Play mode, the MP3 file no. will appears on display every
5 seconds.

Skip and Search Mode
1. In play or pause mode, when CD F-SKIP or CD B-SKIP BUTTON is pressed once, the player
will advance to the next track or return to the beginning of the track.
2. During play mode, when CD F-SKIP or CD B-SKIP BUTTON is pressed and held, it will
search the track with audible high-speed forward or backward playback.
AUDIO MP3 PLAYBACK
Skip and Search Mode
1. In play or pause mode, when MP3 F-SKIP or MP3 B-SKIP BUTTON is pressed once, the
player will advance to the next track or return to the beginning of the track.
2. During play mode, when MP3 F-SKIP or MP3 B-SKIP BUTTON is pressed and held, it will
search the track with audible high-speed forward or backward playback.
3. For the MP3 play or stop mode, when FOLD+/10+ or FOLD-/10- BUTTON is pressed once,
the player will advance to the next 10 tracks or return to the beginning of the 10 tracks.
Skip and Search Folder(MP3) Mode
4. When the MP3 play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON twice, the ALBUM
REP. indicator show on the LCD SCREEN. when pressing and held FOLD+/10+ or FOLD-/10-
BUTTON, the folder will advance to the next or return to the beginning of the folder.
REPEAT MODE(CD)
1. Repeat 1:
When the CD play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM
BUTTON once, the REP. indicator show on the LCD SCREEN.
This single track of music will be repeated.
2. Repeat All:
When the CD play mode, press the MODE BUTTON twice, the
REP. ALL indicator show on the LCD SCREEN. The whole disc will
be played continuously.
3. To cancel the Repeat Function
Press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON repeatedly until the Repeat Indicator
disappears from the LCD SCREEN.
REPEAT MODE(MP3)
1. Repeat 1:
When the MP3 play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM
BUTTON once, the REP. indicator show on the LCD SCREEN. This
single track of music will be repeated.
2. Repeat All:
When the MP3 play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM
BUTTON three times, the REP. ALL indicator show on the LCD
SCREEN. The whole disc will be played continuously.

REPEAT MODE-CONTINUED
3. Repeat Album:
When the MP3 play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON twice, the
REP. ALBUM indicator will show on the LCD SCREEN. The whole folder of the MP3 music will be
played continuously.
4. To cancel the Repeat Function
Press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON repeatedly until the Repeat Indicator disappears
from the LCD SCREEN.
RANDOM PLAY MODE
This feature allows the track on the disc to be played in random order.
1. In CD play mode, press the MODE/PROG.REPEAT/RAM BUTTON three
times.The RANDOM indicator will show on the LCD SCREEN and all
music will play in random order.
2. To cancel the Random play function, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON repeatedly
until the RANDOM indicator will disappear from the LCD SCREEN.
INTRO PLAY MODE
This feature allows each of the tracks on the disc to be played only 10 seconds for the next song.
1. In CD play mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON four times. The INTRO
indicator will show on the LCD SCREEN and each file will play only 10 seconds for each song.
2. To cancel the Intro play function, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON again.
The INTRO indicator will disappear from the LCD SCREEN.
Note: This function cannot work during MP3 disc Playback.
PROGRAM MODE(CD)
1. During the CD stop mode, press the MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM
BUTTON once. The PROGRAM indicator will blink continuously and the
number of Program to be memorized starts from the first program “ ” on the LCD SCREEN.
2. Press the CD F-SKIP or B-SKIP BUTTON or CD FOLD -/10- or FOLD +/10+ BUTTON to
your desired musical track, the LCD SCREEN will show the appropriate track number. Press the
MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON again to store this track in memory.
3. Repeat above procedure until all desired tracks have been programmed.
For CD playback, a total of 20 tracks can be stored in memory.
Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON once to start the program playback
and the Program Indicator “” will show on the LCD screen.

4. To check the program you have stored after complete programming
during CD stop mode, then press the CD F-SKIP BUTTON once,
The LCD SCREEN will show the first programmed track number.
Repeat above procedure to read all the programmed memory.
5. To cancel the programmed memory:
During the CD stop mode, press the CD STOP BUTTON once, or
Open the CD DOOR during the CD stop mode.
The Program Indicator will disappear from the LCD SCREEN.
Program Mode(MP3)
1. During the MP3 playback stop mode, press the MODE/PROG./
REPEAT/RAM BUTTON once. The PROGRAM indicator will blink
continuously and the number of Program to be memorized starts from
the first program “ ” on the LCD SCREEN.
2. Press the F-SKIP or B-SKIP BUTTON or FOLD -/10- or FOLD +/10+ BUTTON to your desired
musical track, the LCD SCREEN will show the appropriate track number. Press the
MODE/PROG./REPEAT/RAM BUTTON again to store this track in memory.
3. Repeat above procedure until all desired tracks have been programmed. For CD playback, a total of
99 tracks can be stored in memory.
4. Press the MP3 PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON once to start the program
playback and the Program Indicator “” will show on the LCD screen.
5. To check the program you have stored after complete programming.
During MP3 stop mode, then press the MP3 F-SKIP BUTTON once,
The LCD SCREEN will show the first programmed track number.

6. To cancel the programmed memory:
During the MP3 stop mode, press the CD STOP BUTTON once, or
Open the CD DOOR during the MP3 stop mode.
The Program Indicator will disappear from the LCD SCREEN.
7. External memory Media Operation (USB)
Prepare the player for the External Memory media operation.
Insert a USB date traveler into the USB port, set the function switch
to the CD/AUX/MP3-IN/USB.
The USB shows in the LCD and after the USB is successfully detected
and read, the track number as a total shows in the LCD.

Note: During CD or MP3 playback is inside, when press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE/USB BUTTON,
CD/MP3 mode will automatically change to the USB mode.
Playing Other Audio Devices
The SX-3209MU features an AUX/MP3-IN jack to facilitate playback from other audio devices (MP3
players, computers) through 3.5mm plug.
1. Insert a 3.5mm plug and cable (not included) into the AUX/MP3-IN jack in the back of the unit.
2. Slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to CD / AUX / MP3-IN / USB. If device is plugged into the
AUX/MP3-IN jack, the LCD Screen will read “AU.”
3. Turn the additional device on and follow the playback instructions found in its owner’s manual.
4. Do discontinue playback of additional devices, slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to OFF.
Note: When an audio device is plugged into this unit while a CD is playing, CD playback will stop
automatically and switch to AUX/MP3-IN mode.
MAINTENANCE
NOTES ON CDs
1. Before playing, clean the CD with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the CD from
the center out to the ends.
2. Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available
cleaners or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.
3. Do not expose the CD to direct sunlight or heat sources such as hot air ducts. Do not expose to
direct sunlight, nor leave CDs in a car, as there can be a considerable rise in temperature.
4. Do not stick paper or sticker on the CD. Do not scratch, dirt or fingerprints on the CD, for it may
cause tracking error.
Cleaning the lens
If the lens becomes dirty, it may cause a skipping of sound during CD operation. Clean with a
commercially available lens cleaner.
Cleaning the cabinet
Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent
solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or solvent, such as alcohol or
benzine.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
When the instructions in this manual are followed, this unit should function properly. However, if any of
the following difficulties occur and cannot be corrected by the user or if a problem arises that is not
mentioned here, please contact PREMIER Customer Service or a qualified service technician.
1. Unit Does Not Play
Unit may be disconnected from power source (No AC connection or batteries). Check connection.
Disc is not correctly set. CDs should be inserted label side up.
Disc is scratched or dirty. Please clean.
The lens is dirty. Wipe clean gently with soft, dry cloth. Follow the instructions of the lens cleaner.
There is moisture on the lens wait an hour and try again.
2. No Sound, Distorted Sound or Feedback
Ensure plugs are inserted firmly.
Wipe off plugs with clean cloth.
Disc is scratched or dirty. Please clean.
Volume control is turned down. Please increase.
3. Radio Reception is Unclear
Radio station frequency may be weak. Adjust antenna.
