Positiontheapplianceandallowittostand

fortwotothreehoursbeforeitisturnedon

forthersttimetoallowthesystemtosettle.

Donotpositionnexttoanyheatsourcee.g.

cooker,boilerorindirectsunlightetc.

Allowatleast10cmofspaceatthetop

and10cmofspaceonbothsidesofthe

applianceandbetweenthebackofthe

applianceandthewallforadequateair

circulation.Theapplianceisnotdesignedfor

recessedinstallation(“buildingin”).

Installonagoodrmlevelsurface,andany

unevennessoftheoorshouldbecorrected

priortoinstallation,slightunevennesscanbe

overcomebyadjustingthefrontfeet.

NOTE:iftheapplianceispositioned

onacarpet,softoorcoveringyoushould

readjustthefrontfeetoncetheappliancehas

hadtimetosettle.

Additional spacers for better

performance

Thereare2additionalspacerssupplied.Itis

recommendedtoinstallthese2spacersto

yourfridge-freezerasperthediagrambelow.

NOTE:Thettingofthesespacesis

notessentialbutwillensurethatthereis

sufcientspaceforaircirculationandbetter

coolingperformance.

EN 4. OPERATION

• Thisapplianceisdesignedtooperatein

ambienttemperaturebetween16ºCand

38ºC.Ifthesetemperaturesareexceed-

ed,i.e.colderorwarmer,theapplianewill

notoperatecorrectly.Iftheambienttem-

peraturesareexceededforlongperiods,

thetemperatureinthefreezersectionwill

riseabove-1(ºCandfoodspoilagemay

occur.

• Removeallpackagingmaterialsfromthe

appliance.Washtheinsideofthecabinet

withlukewarmwaterandbicarbonateof

soda(5ml.to0.5litreofwater).Drythe

appliancethoroughly.

• Whenyouusethefreezerforrsttimeor

afterdefrosting,setthecontrolknobto

themaximumpositionforatleast2hours

beforeintroducingfoodtobestored,and

thenreadjusttothenormalposition.

• Ifthereisapowerfailure,donotopenthe

door.Frozenfoodshouldnotbeaffected

ifthefailurelastsforlessthan11hours.If

thefailureislonger,thenthefoodshould

becheckedandeithereatenimmediately

orcookedandthenre-frozen.

Setting the control knob

Therefrigeratoriscontrolledwithacontrol

knoblocatedinsidetheappliance,towards

theupperright-handcorner.Turntheknob

fromthesetting1positiontowardsthehigher

numbersforcoldertemperatures.Theknob

canbeadjustedfromsetting1to7.

Highersettingsontheknob(highernumbers)

meanlowertemperatures(colder)inallcom-

partmentsoftheappliance.

Changesoftheambienttemperatureaffect

temperatureintheinterioroftheappliance

sochooseacorrectsettingofthetempera-

turecontrolknob,dependingonyourambi-

entconditions.

Setthecontrolknobtoamiddlepositionto

achieve-18°Cinthefreezercompartment.

Using the fridge fan

Ifyoustorealargenumberoffoodsinfridge

compartment,youcanturnonthefanto

speedupthecoolingbypressingthepower

switchonthesideofthefan.

Whenthetemperatureisnormal,pleaseturn

offthefantosaveenergy.

Please Note: Iftheapplianceisun-

pluggedyoumustwaitatleast5minutes

beforerestartingtheapplianceorre-inserting

theplugintothewalloutlet.

Thisistoallowtheprotectiondeviceinthe

compressortoreset.Ifthecompressorfails

tostartcorrectlyremovetheplugandwait

for5minutesbeforeyoutryagainthenthe

compressorshouldrestartnormally.

Thestoragetemperaturemaybeaffectedby:

• Theroomtemperature

• Howoftenthedoorisopened

• Howmuchfoodisstored

• Positionoftheappliance

Whenyousetthecorrecttemperature,all

thesefactorsmentionedaboveshallbetaken

intoaccount.

Shopping for frozen food

Theapplianceisratedasa4starfreezerand

canfreezefreshfoodandstorepre-frozen

food.Whenyouarebuyingfrozenfood,look

attheStorageGuidelinesonthepackaging.

Yourwillbeabletostoreeachitemoffrozen

foodfortheperiodshownagainstthe4star

rating.

Freezing fresh food

Ensurethatyourfreezingoperationsarecar-

riedoutunderthemosthygienicconditions

asfreezingalonedoesnotimprovethefood.

Neverputhotorevenwarmfoodstuffsinto

thefreezer.

Priortofreezingthefood,foodshouldalways

becoveredtightlywithfoil,plasticlm,

placedinplasticbagsorstoredinairtight

containers.Thiswillpreventfoodfromdehy-

dratingandtopreventanystrongodoursof

somefoodstransferringtomilderones.

Tofreezerawmeat,wrapinplasticbagsor

inairtightcontainersandplaceonthelowest

shelftoavoidcrosscontamination.

Donotallowrawmeattocomeintocontact

withcookedfoods.Forsafety,onlystoreraw

meatfortwoorthreedays.Fruitandvegeta-

blesshouldbethoroughlycleanedandplace

inthecrisper.Milkandotherliquidsshould

besealedwithlidsandplacedinthebottle

shelfinthedoor.

NOTE :Theambienttemperatureof

thefreshlystoredfoodandhowoftenthe

doorisopenedaffectthetemperaturein

therefrigerator.Ifrequired,changethe

temperaturesettings.

Storing frozen food

Allfrozenfoodyoupurchaseshouldbeplace

inthefreezerassoonaspossibletoavoid

themfromdefrostingandspoiling.

Allstoragerecommendationsprintedonthe

packagingoffrozenfoodbythemanufac-

turershouldalwaysbefollowed.

Whenusingthefreezerforthersttimeor

afterdefrosting,setthecontrolknobtothe

maximumpositionforatleast2hoursbefore

introducingfoodtobestored,andthenread-

justittothenormalposition.

Making ice cubes

1. Filltheicetray(notsupplied)with¾fullof

cleanwater.

2. Placethetrayinthefreezer.

3. Closethedoor.

Toremovetheicecubesfromthetray,put

thetrayunderrunningwaterforawhileand

thentwistthetrayslightlytoloosentheice

cubes.

Reversing the door

Beforereversingthedoor,pleasemakesure

theapplianceisswitchedoffandunplugged

formthemains.

1. Removethefrontpanelcovers(11)and

(13).

2. Removethescrews(1)thatholdthefront

panel(12).

3. Removethefrontpanel.

4. Removethescrews(4)thatholdthemid-

dlehinge(3).

5. Removethemiddlehinge.

6. Lifttheupperdoor(5)offtheappliance

andplaceitonapaddedsurfaceto

preventitfrombeingscratched.

7. Liftthelowerdoor(6)offtheappliance

andplaceitonapaddedsurfaceto

preventitfrombeingscratched.

8. Removetherightfrontfoot(7)andthe

screws(8)thatholdthelowerhinge(9).

9. Removethelowerhinge(9).

10.Removetheleftfrontfoot(10)andtrans-

ferittotherightside.

Fridge defrosting

Thefridgedefrostingprocessiscarriedout

automaticallyeverytimethecompressor

stops.Thedefrostwaterisautomatically

routedtothedrainportandintoatrayplaced

onthetopofthecompressortotherearof

theappliancefromwhichitevaporates.

Makesurethedrainportonthefridgeatthe

rearoftheapplianceiskeptclear.

Freezer defrosting

Thisapplianceisdesignedtoautomatically

defrostinfreezercompartment.Itisnot

requiredtounplugtheappliance.

Noise from your appliance

Youmaynoticesomeratherunusualnoises.

Thenoisesarecausedbycirculationof

refrigerantinthecoolingsystem.Ithasbe-

comemorepronouncedsincetheintroduc-

tionofCFCfreegases.Thisisnotafaultand

willnotaffecttheperformanceofyourfridge.

Prolonged off periods

Iftheapplianceisnotinuseforalongperiod

oftime,proceedasfollows:

Disconnecttheappliancefromthemains

supply.

Cleananddrytheinsideoftheappliance

(see“Cleaningandmaintenance”).

Leavethedooropentopreventanyunpleas-
