INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
APPLICATIONS: Modified GP1200R, GP1300R & FX140.

1. Remove jet pump from Waverunner®.
2. Separate the stator section from impeller wear ring and reduction nozzle.
3. Insert splined end of drive shaft into drive shaft holder tool. Secure drive shaft holder tool in a sturdy bench vise
and remove impeller by turning clockwise when looking down length of drive shaft at top of impeller. NOTE: It
may be necessary to warm impeller hub to remove. DO NOT OVERHEAT! Retain OE impeller washer for
use with Riva/Solas Set-Back Impeller.
4. Thoroughly clean splines and threads on drive shaft and mating surfaces of stator, impeller wear ring and
reduction nozzle.
5. Install OE impeller washer onto driveshaft and apply Loc-Tite 572 to threads. Carefully install Riva/Solas Set-
Back Impeller taking care not to cross-thread impeller onto drive shaft. Slide included impeller tool onto drive
shaft and insert splined end of drive shaft into drive shaft holder tool. Secure drive shaft holder tool in a sturdy
bench vise and tighten impeller by turning counter-clockwise when looking down length of drive shaft at top of
impeller. Torque impeller (counter-clockwise) to 12Nm (1.8m !!!• kgf, 13ft • lb).
6. Install Riva Billet Impeller Cone. Apply Loc-Tite 572 to threads of the three included set screws and install into
impeller cone. Slide impeller cone onto drive shaft and into nose of impeller completely. Tighten set screws
evenly.
7. Apply a generous amount of grease onto splined end of drive shaft and silicone onto mating surfaces of stator,
impeller wear ring and reduction nozzle. Install jet pump into Waverunner®.

INSTALLATION TIPS & RECOMMENDATIONS:
¸ Use a marine grade silicone and allow to dry overnight. This is available through Riva’s parts department or most
local marine products retailers.
¸ Drive shaft holder tool [part# TOOL#56] is available through Riva’s parts department or most local PWC shops.
¸ If you aren’t using a Riva Performance Pump Cone we recommend installing one while you have the jet pump
assembly removed. The Performance Pump Cone will improve performance by reducing cavitation.
¸ Thoroughly inspect jet pump prior to installing impeller to ensure there is no damage to stator veins or impeller
wear ring. Any damage to these components will reduce performance.
