Groundinginstructions
Thewinecellarmustbegroundedincaseofanelectricalshortcircuit.Groundingreduces
theriskofelectricalshock.Thewinecellarisequippedwithapowercordhavinga
groundingwireandgroundingplug.Thewinecellarplugmustbepluggedintoaproperly
installedandgroundedelectricaloutlet.
Note: Inlocationswherethereisfrequentlightning,itisadvisabletousesurgeprotectors.
Improperuseofthegroundingplugcanresultintheriskofelectricshock.Consulta
qualifiedelectricianorservicepersonifthegroundinginstructionsarenotcompletely
understood.
Ifthesupplycordisdamaged,itmustbereplacebyaqualifiedpersoninordertoavoidelectricalhazard.
Installingyourwinecellar
Unpackandremovealloftheprotectionandadhesivestripsfromthepackagingaroundand
insidethewinecellar.
Thewinecellarmustbepositionedsuchthattheplugisaccessible.Releasethepowercord.
Moveyourwinecellartoitsfinallocation.Thewinecellarshouldbeinstalledinasuitable
placewherethecompressorwillnotbesubjecttophysicalcontact.
Levelingyourwinecellar: WinecellarmustbeleveledBEFORE loadingyourwines.

Pluginandswitchonthecellarbypressingonthepowerbuttonforafewseconds.
Whenyouusethewinecellarforthefirsttime(orrestartthewinecellarafterhavingit
poweroffforalongtime),therewillbeafewdegreesvariancebetweenthetemperatureyou
haveselectedandtheoneindicatedontheLEDreadout.Thisisnormalanditisduetothe
lengthoftheactivationtime.Oncethewinecellarisrunningforafewhourseverythingwill
stabilize.
Important:
If
the
unit
is
unplugged,
power
is
lost,
or
turned
off,
wait
3
to
5
minutes
before
restarting
the
unit.
The
wine
cellar
will
not
start
if
you

restart

OperatingNoises
Toreachthedesiredtemperaturesettings, VINTEC winecellars,likeallwinecellars
operatingwithcompressorsandfans,mayproducethefollowingtypesofnoises.These
noisesarenormalandoccurasfollows:
-Gurglingsound,causedbytherefrigerantflowingthroughtheappliance’scoils,
-Cracking/poppingsounds,resultingfromthecontractionandexpansionoftherefrigerant
gastoproducecold,
-Fanoperatingsound,tocirculatetheairwithinthewinecellar.
Anindividual’sperceptionofnoiseisdirectlylinkedtotheenvironmentinwhichthewine
cellarislocated,aswellthespecifictypeofmodels. VINTEC winecellarsareinlinewith
internationalstandardsforsuchappliance. VINTEC willalwaysdoitsutmosttosatisfyits
customersbutwillnotretakepossessionofthegoodsduetocomplaintsbasedonnormal
operatingnoiseoccurrences.
LOADINGYOURWINECELLAR
Youmayloadyourwinebottlesinsingleordoublerowswhiletakingnoteofthefollowing:
ifyoudonothaveenoughbottlestofillyourwinecellar,itisbettertodistributetheload
throughoutthewinecellarsoastoavoid “allontop” or “allbelow” typeloads.
-Doremoveorrelocateadjustablewoodenshelvestoaccommodatelargertypeofbottlesor
increasethecapacityofthecellarbystackingthebottlesupwhennecessary.(See
removingshelves)
-Keepsmallgapsbetweenthewallandthebottlestoallowaircirculation.Likean
undergroundcellaraircirculationisimportanttopreventmouldandforabetter
homogeneoustemperaturewithinthecellar.
-Donotoverloadyourwinecellartofacilitateaircirculation.
-Donotstackmorethan1.5rowsofstandard0.75Lbottlespershelvestofacilitateair
circulation
-Avoidobstructingtheinternalfans(locatedinsideonthebackpanelofthewinecellar).
-Donottrytoslidetheshelvesoutwardsbeyondthefixedpositiontopreventthebottles
fromfalling.

TYPESOFREGULATION
Pleasenotethatdependingontheloadingandsettingschosenittakes24hoursforthewine
cellartoseethetemperaturestabilizing.
DuringthistimeLEDseemstomoveerraticallyinparticularfor2emodels.Itisanormal
process. Thisprocessoccurswheneverthesettingismodifiedand/orwheneveralarge
amountofbottlesareaddedtothecellar.
TEMPERATURESETTINGS
Important:TheLCDdisplaysbydefaulttheactualinternalairtemperature.
Thetemperaturesettingsarepre-setatthefactoryat12ºC.
Note: Intheeventofapowerinterruption,allprevioustemperaturesettingsare
automaticallyerasedanditwillreverttoapresettemperaturesettingof12ºC.
ThesettingvaluesarenotindegreeCelsiusbutinindexvalues.Anindexvalueisroughly
equivalentto1ºC
Youwillneedtowaitapproximately12hoursbeforenoticingtheeffectsoftemperature
adjustmentduetothecriticalmasswithinafullwinecellar.
Oncethethermostatissetitisstronglyadvisednottotoywithitoradjustfrequently.The
thermostatwillmaintainthetemperatureinsidethewinecellarwithina+/-2.5ºC.The
thermalinertiaofthewineandtheglassissuchthatwithinthistemperaturerange,theactual
temperatureofthewinewillonlyfluctuate0.5ºCto1ºC.Itisimportanttounderstandthat
thereisadifferencebetweentheairtemperatureinsidethewinecellarandtheactual
temperatureofthewine.
Control

AdjustthedesiredcoolingtemperaturebypressingtheUPorDOWNbuttons.Each
depressionofthebuttonswillscrollthroughtheavailabletemperaturesettingsinincrements
of1degreeCelsius.Thetemperaturesettingcanbeadjustedfrom5℃to18℃
Tovisualizethe “set” temperature,pressandholdtheUPorDOWNbuttons,the “set”
temperaturewilltemporarily “flash” intheLEDdisplayfor5seconds.

Internallight
Inordertoreduceenergyconsumption,thesewinecabinetswillautomaticallyswitchoffthe
LEDlightsafter10minutes.
IfyouwanttheLEDlighttoremainoncontinuously,thisispossible.Pleasepressandhold
the"LIGHT"buttonfor5seconds,thedisplaywillshow"LP".After4secondsthedisplay
willrevertbacktonormalandthelightwillremainonuntilmanuallyswitchedoff.
Ifyouwanttorevertbackandconserveenergy(recommended),pleasepressandholdthe
"LIGHT"buttonfor5second,thedisplaywillshow"LF",after4secondsthedisplaywill
revertbacktonormal,andthelightwillautomaticallyswitchoffafter10minutes.

DEFROSTING/CONDENSATION/HYGROMETRY/VENTILATION
Yourwinecellarisdesignedwith “Auto-cycle” defrostsystem.During “Off-cycle” the
refrigeratedsurfacesofthewinecellardefrostautomatically.Defrostwaterfromthewine
cellarstoragecompartmentdrainsautomaticallyandpartofitgoesintoadrainagecontainer,
whichislocatedatthebackofthewinecellarnexttothecompressor.Theheatistransferred
fromthecompressorandevaporatesanycondensationthathascollectedinthepan.Partof
theremainingwateriscollectedwithinthewinecellarforhumiditypurposes.
Thissystemenablesthecreationofthecorrecthumiditylevelinsideyourwinecellar
requiredbythenaturalcorktomaintainalonglastingseal.
Notes: Thewatercollectedbycondensation,isthereforerecycled.Underextremelydry
environmentalconditions,youmayhavetoaddsomewaterintothewatercontainer

POWERFAILURES
Intheeventofapowerinterruption,allprevioustemperaturesettingsareautomatically

Mostpowerfailuresarecorrectedwithinashortperiodoftime.Anhourortwo’slossof
powerwillnotaffectyourwinecellar’stemperatures.Toavoidsuddenchangeof
temperaturewhilethepowerisoff,youshouldavoidopeningthedoor.Forlongerperiodof
powerfailure,dotakestepstoprotectyourwine.
Irrespectiveofthecause,ifyounoticeeitherabnormaltemperatureorhumiditylevels
insideyourwinecellar,bereassuredthatonlylongandfrequentexposuretothese
