INSTRUCTION MANUAL
ACTIVE MONITOR MODULE V-1812C
? GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Designed for use with TOAs V-1000B Mixer Frame, the V-1812C can monitor up to 12 speaker lines (100V) or line level
(1V). A switch on each input selects either 100V / 1V operation, allowing mixed signal monitoring on a single module. A
rotary switch allows selection of the input line for monitoring by a 7-LED bar graph and internal speaker. A headphone
socket is provided which can disable the internal speaker when used (depending on internal jumper setting). A volume
control is provided to adjust the speaker / headphone level.

? BLOCK DIAGRAM
? APPLICATION
Select the channel to be monitored with the channel selector ( ). The selected channels level will be displayed with the
5-segment LED bar graph ( ). The signal can be monitored by the build-in speaker and the volume can be controlled with
the volume control ( ). When plugging in a headphone into the headphone socket ( ) the speaker will be
switched off.
An external speaker can be connected at the pins 14 (HOT) and R (COM, ground). If it shall be driven together with the
build-in speaker then its impedance must be 8 ohms or higher. The internal and external speaker can be switched on and
off by a control signal, which speaker will be switched on or off depends on the setting of jumpers J13. If the external
speaker is to be driven without the build-in speaker then disconnect the build-in speaker by unplugging the connector "XL"
on the PCB board. The impedance of the external speaker must be 4 ohms or higher if the internal speaker will not be used
together with the external speaker, otherwise it must be 8 ohms or higher.

? INSTALLATION
Remove the mixer frame rear panel. Cut bus wires
to replace the original circuit board connector with
the supplied 44-pin card-edge connector, as
illustrated in the figure. Make internal connections
and replace the rear panel. After plugging the
module in the frame, secure the module with 4
screws.

? SETTINGS
Setting of Sensivity
The input sensivity can be selected either 1 VAC or 100VAC by setting
the jumpers 1 ~ 12. Set the jumpers on right or left position, as illustrated
in the figure (view on part side of PCB, connector on right side).

Setting of Relay Function
The activation of the internal and the external speakers can be controlled by the control input depending on the settings of
the jumpers J51-1/2/3/4 ( ). For setting refer to following list:
Jumper Setting Control
J51-1 speaker(s) OFF
J51-2 speaker(s) ON
J51-3 switch over to external speaker
J51-4 switch OFF internal and external speaker
Set jumpers either to 1 or2, and to either 3 or 4.
The external control is made via pin 20 by making a contact to ground.
