Thank you for choosing a DUGENA Premium watch.

You have chosen a high class product with acute

attention on details and quality during creation. Each

DUGENA Premium watch is equipped with scratch-

proof sapphire crystal. The bolted housing bottom

particularly protectsthe watch movement against

environmental inﬂuences such as dust and water.

DUGENA Premium watches are waterproof up to 5 AT,

Nautica and Imola up to 10 AT. The latter possess a screw

crown, in order to ensure the water resistance up to 10

ATM in each case. High-quality leather straps, screwed

solid high-grade steel and/or titanium straps are further

quality criteria.

We ask to read you the instruction manual carefully and

make yourself familiar with the warranty terms. Please

keep the instruction manual, since the instruction

manual encloses the letter of guarantee.

With the purchase of this radio-controlled watch you are

in possession of a chronometer equipped with the latest

technolgy, allowing manipulation merely with the help

of two correctors. The supplementary function ”Manual

start“ now guarantees also the possibility to replace the

battery out of the range of transmitter. For this please

keep your operating manual always within reach at a

safe place.

General information:

Hours and minutes on your watch are displayed

analogously by means of the hand and seconds by the

secondsweep-hand, the current date is shown digitally

on the LCD.

Change of LCD information display:

Pressing the corrector 2 (right button) for a short time

(<3 seconds) switches from display of the date (day/

month) to display of seconds and signal recepction.

Permanent display of the radio tower indicates display

of accurate radio-controlled time. The digit to the

right of the radio tower, reception control, displays

the number of days the watch could not establish

connection to DCF transmitter. ”0“ means the best

reception conditions. Aer 3 seconds the LCD display

switches automatically back to display of the date.

Selection of time zone:

Use a spike-like object to actuate the corrector 1 (le

dimple button) for a short time (<3 seconds). The LCD

displays the current time now. Repeated short actuation

of the corrector 1 advances the time displayed on

LCD by one hour each as if moving eastward through

the individual time zones. Aer each actuation of the

button also the hands of the watch advance one hour.

Aer the eleventh actuation of the button you advance

from the west (as if backwards) towards the CET by

one hour each. For Great Britain with minus one hour

as compared to DCF time as extreme case, you have to

actuate the button 23 times. In case of slow actuation

of the compensator, hands of the watch follow each

of these 23 changes. Your watch did not fail if, in case

of extremely fast sequence of these 23 actuations, its

hands perform only the 11th change of time. 9 seconds

aer the last actuation the LCD switches back to

corrected time zone display of the date.

Switching back to dcf-time: (from the set time zone)

Actuate the corrector 1 (le) for more than 3 seconds.

Your watch will be reset automatically to all current

DCFtime information. Because of the internal memory,

this function is available at any time during or aer long-

range travels, even out of the range of transmitter.

Note: Manually activated transmitter call (following

section) and automatic reception (transmitter tower is

blinking) will be performed only if no other time zones

were programmed as DCF-time plus/minus one hour.

This restriction protects your battery.

Transmitter call:

Actuate the corrector 2 (right) for more than 3 seconds.

The hands of your watch move fast to 12:00 o’clock

position and in normal cases remain exactly in this

position. Should this position not be reached exactly,

please continue according to following instructions

”Positioning of the hands“ ﬁrst. In case of immediate

exact position of the hands hold the watch still (best

of all take it from the wrist and lay it on a ﬂat surface:

no metal surface) to establish a secure connection

– transmitter tower is blinking – the LCD seconds

display starts counting. Aer few minutes your watch

sets all current time information automatically and the

transmitter call is ﬁnished. To stop the transmitter call

before the function is completed, actuate the button

(right) shortly. Aer that the stored time values will be

displayed.

Note ”Positioning of the hands“:

The exact 12:00 o’clock position has not been reached.

Actuate the corrector 1 (le) now. The LCD shows ”H“

(zero position of hour and minute hands). In this position

your watch prompts you to set the hands to the exact

12:00 o’clock position through further actuation of

the corrector 1 (le). Permanent pressure starts a

continuous fast movement of the hands, single actuation

results in individual steps. As soon as the correct position

has been reached, ﬁnish the positioning through a short

actuation of the corrector 2 (right). The LCD shows ”S“

(zero position of the second-sweephand). In this position

your watch prompts you to set the secondsweep-hand

to the exact 12:00 o’clock position through further

actuation of the corrector 1 (le).

of the hands, single actuation results in individual steps.

As soon as the correct position has been reached,

ﬁnish the positioning through a short actuation of the

corrector 2 (right). Switching between the settings of

the hours/minutes hands ”H“ and second-sweep-hand

”S“ is possible as many times as you like. As soon as the

correct position has been reached, ﬁnish the positioning

through actuation of the corrector 2 (right) for more

than 3 seconds. The watch switches to DCF reception

mode. Display: Transmitter tower is blinking.

Note to operate errors:

If you inadvertently actuate both control elements

simultaneously for more than 3 seconds, a

microprocessor in your watch performs a hardware

reset, all saved time information is lost. In this case

follow the instruction for restart of your watch aer

replacement of the battery.

Replacement of the battery:

It is recommended to have the battery replaced by

specialized retail shop or by customer service.

Restart afer replacement of the battery:

The LCD shows ”H“ through compensator (le) the

hour and minute hands must be set to exact position

and the positioning must be ﬁnished trough corrector

2 (right) analogously to function ”Positioning of the

hands“. The LCD shows ”S“ through corrector 1 (le)

the secondsweep-hand must be set to exact position

and the positioning must be ﬁnished through corrector

2 (right) analogously to function ”Positioning of the

hands“.

If the reception is suﬃcient, all further functions are

performed automatically as described in section

”Transmitter call” and aer frew minutes your watch

shows correct time and date information. In case of

inferior reception, or locations absolutely outside of

range of transmitter, your watch will not be able to

establish the reception and you will not see any time

information. In that case the special soware permits

also a manual start of your watch, which you please

perform as following:

Manual start mode:

Aer ﬁnished hands-positioning. Now actuate the

corrector 1 (le) shortly, the LCD shows the minute.

Upon repeated continuous or single actuation of the

corrector 1 (le) the LCD minute display and the hands

move fast or in single steps. This way, set the correct time

according to other clock/watch. The last exact setting of

the minute should be made precisely at the top of the

minute. Close the manual start with short actuation of

the corrector 2 (right). Manual start is indicated on the

LCD display by permanent ”1“ beside the display of the

seconds. The transmitter tower is invisible. In the manual

start mode your watch attempts to automatically receive

the radiocontrolled time at each top of the hour. The

transmitter call is also possible, should, however, be

activated only within the range of transmitter. Aer

a successful reception your watch displays radio-

controlled time automatically.

Automatic functions of your watch:

– Synchronisation to the second

During the night at 2:00, 3:00 and if necessary at 4:00,

5:00 and 6:00 o’clock the receiver is turned on and the

internal time is synchronized via radio to the second.

Should none of the attempts to synchronize the time

during the night be successful, the control of reception

would be increased by ”1“. The days of non-reception are

cumulated. During these days your watch works still

very accurately on the quartz-time basis with the help of

internal time memory. Upon the next possible successful

reception the synchronization is performed and the

control of reception is reset to ”0“.

– Adjustment of daylight saving to standard time and

vice versa

In case of reception without interference, the time of

your watch is adjusted automatically during the night

at 2:00 or 3:00 o’clock. Interference may delay the

adjustment until early morning hours.

– Battery replacement indication

Blinking display of the date indicates battery voltage

lower than 2.4 V. The second-sweep-hand stops in 12:00

position. Following functions are not available during

battery replacement indication: transmitter call and

selection of time zone.

It is possible that the display for a change of battery may

be activated by unfavourable external conditions (very

low environmental temperature). Aer the external

conditions will have normalized again, the display for a

change of battery will automatically be deactivated. All

functions will again be fully available.

2. Avoid temperature ﬂuctuations

Please avoid leaving your watch in direct sunlight, at very

warm or cold locations for long periods. This could cause

the watch to go faster or slower.

3. Avoid damp environments

Do not use the buttons if the watch is wet or damp.

4. Avoid heavy impacts

This watch is able to withstand all impacts in normally oc-

curring. However, you should avoid dropping your watch

on the ground or exposing it to excessive shocks in other

ways. Unproper treatment of your watch can suspend

the waterresistance.

5. Avoid strong magnetic ﬁelds

Keep your watch out of the direct area of strong mag-

netic ﬁelds. In general however, the function of your

watch is not impaired by the magnetic ﬁelds emitted by

domestic appliances, TV sets or stereo equipment.

6. Avoid strong chemicals, solvents and gases

Do not wear your watch in the vicinity of strong chemi-

cals, solvents or noxious gases. If your watch comes into

contact with substances containing petrols, paint thin-

ners, alcohols, cosmetic sprays, nail varnishs, nail varnish

removers, adhesives, paints or paint strippers, this could

impair the quality of or damage the case, strap, bracelet

or other components of the watch.

7. Keep your watch clean

Use a so, clean cloth to wipe oﬀ all traces of water and

moisture on the case, glass, strap or bracelet. Dirt of any

type on the case, strap or bracelet could result in slight

skin rashes. A watch bracelet or strap accumulates slight

dirt as the result of de posited perspiration and dust sin-

ce it is constantly in contact with the skin.

Even a stainless steel or gold-plated bracelet could start

to corrode if it is not cleaned for long periods.

Woven straps may loose their special ﬂexibility and beco-

me less attractive if they are soiled. They should therefo-

re be washed from time to time. Metal bracelets should

normally be washed with a brush in mild, soapy water

and dried with a so, absorbent cloth. Aer doing this,

ensure that all water has been removed.

Please ensure that no water penetrates the inside of the

watch when you wash the strap or bracelet.

8. Periodic inspection

We advise you to have the watch inspected every 2 to

3 years in order to maintain it in perfect working order

for many years.

9. Be sure to keep parts out of reach of infants and

small children. Should accidental ingestion occur, consult

a doctor at once.
