Object of the Game
Move around the gameboard, correctly answering DVD questions on movie
trivia from different categories. The winner is the first player to reach the
Finish space on the gameboard.
Setting up the Game
Each player selects a mover token and places it on the
Start space on the gameboard. Place the DVD disc into
the DVD player. After the introduction to the game, the
Start Screen will appear. Once the Start Screen
appears, press ENTER on the DVD remote control, which
will take you to the first Menu Screen of the game. Now
you are ready to play the game.
Playing the Game
The player who owns the game goes first. Play then moves in a clockwise
direction. On screen is the Level of Difficulty Menu, which controls the level of
question difficulty a player will receive – Easy, Medium or Hard. The Level Die
determines the level of question difficulty a player must answer – a roll of one
means an easy question, two, a medium question and three, a hard question.
Before every turn, a player must roll the Level Die and then use the DVD
remote control to highlight the corresponding level of difficulty
on screen. ENTER is then pressed on the remote control
which will take the player to the Category Menu Screen.
The Category Menu Screen lists the eight game categories
on which questions are based. These are Showtime, Script
Test, Take Two, Spotlight, Star Struck, Now Showing,
Outtakes and Random.
A player’s question category is determined by the
corresponding space they occupy on the gameboard.
For example, if a player is on a Showtime space on the
gameboard, they must answer a question from the
Showtime category. To receive their question, the player
uses the DVD remote control to select the relevant
category and then presses ENTER on the remote control.
The DVD will then play the question automatically. If the
player has answered correctly, they move the same number
of spaces forward on the gameboard as the question level
of difficulty answered, i.e. either one, two or three spaces. If the player
answers incorrectly, they do not move forward on the gameboard and play
moves onto the next player. If the player answers correctly, they take another
turn.
First Turn
For each player’s first turn, they roll the die to choose their level of difficulty
and must answer a question from the Random category. If they answer the
question correctly, they move forward according to the number they roll on the
die. If the player answers incorrectly, in order to move
off the Start space, they must continue to choose the
Random category when it is their turn.
Outtakes
The Outtake category is a special one. It acts as a
selection of wild cards within the game which can either
help or hinder players in winning the game. When a
player lands on an Outtake space on the gameboard,
they must still roll the Level Die to determine the level
of difficulty to be selected. On the Category Menu
Screen, the player then selects Outtakes. An instruction,
which must be obeyed, will then appear on screen and
will either propel the player forward on the gameboard or
send them backwards. Play then moves onto the next
question and continues in the normal manner.
Winning the Game
The first player to reach the Finish space on the gameboard is the winner!
Party Play
If you wish to play a quicker version of the game, you can play without
the board. In Party Play, you decide the level of difficulty to play and who
will start the game. All players answer questions from the Random
