GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Single phase solid state relay with input control by 3 - 32 Vdc or universal 20 - 260 Vac/dc signal. Switching
at zero crossing of the mains voltage.
Model available with MOV protection (varistor).
MOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS
-Single-phase solid state relays are designed to provide a switching function that does not include
protection of the load line or the devices connected to it. The customer must provide all necessary
safety and protective devices in accordance with applicable electrical standards.
-Protect the safety relay against overheating by using a suitable heat sink (accessory). The heat sink
must be sized according to the ambient temperature and the load current.
Calculation of the power dissipation of the solid state relay :
Single-phase solid-state relay THYRITOP 101 15/25 A = 1.45 x IRMS[W]
Single-phase solid-state relay THYRITOP 101 50/90 A = 1.35 X IRMS[W]
IRMS = single-phase load current
Calculation of the thermal resistance of the heat sink Rth = (90 °C - T.amb. max.) / Pd with Pd = power dissipation
T.amb.max = maximum air temperature in the control cabinet.
Use a heat sink with a lower heat resistance than the calculated element (Rth).
Maximum ambient temperature 40°C usable with pollution degree 2 or higher.
- Mounting procedure on the heatsink: The contact surface between the heatsink and the module must have a
maximum flatness error of 0.05 mm and a maximum roughness of 0.02 mm. The fixing holes of the heat sink must be
threaded and countersunk.
ATTENTION
Spread 1 gram of heat conductive silicone paste (Thermo silicone paste ref. P01660013 recommended) on
the dissi-pated metal surface of the module. The surfaces must be clean and there must be no impurities in
the heat conducting paste.
Tighten the two fastening screws alternately to a torque of 0.4...0.6 Nm. Wait 5 minutes so that the excess
paste can drain off.
Tighten the two fixing screws alternately until a tightening torque of 1.2...1.4 Nm is reached.
WARNINGS
During its continuous operation, the heatsink
can reach very high temperatures, which may
persist even after the device is switched off,
due to its high thermal inertia.
Do not work on the
power section without
first disconnecting the
supply voltage to the
panel.
Follow the instructions
in the technical manual.
