4.1 Warning Signals
Do not use the lift while it is plugged into an outlet.
Do not use device as a passenger lift! Do not stand underneath the raised platform.
When in motion, lower the load so that it is level with the “moving position” sticker on the side of
the mast.
When the lifting hook attachment is in the highest position, movement is limited to approximately
one meter for position the lifting device under the designated Pall hardware.
WARNING! Risk of hands and feet getting caught in machine! Do not stand on or rest your feet
on the legs or battery casing. Do not put hands or ngers on the mast or close to the sleigh or
chain as this poses risk of getting caught!
Stay clear of the indicated area at all times! Make sure the area underneath the lifting hook
attachment is always completely clear. If the lifting hook attachment gets caught on an object
during descent there is a risk of the lifting device tipping over.
The lifting device is meant to be used during a normal work shift (1 shift) and re-charged during
off hours (normally night time). Always charge minimum 8 hours consecutively. There is no risk
of the battery overcharging.
4.2 Safety
1. The lifting device is designed for indoor use only; use on a smooth, even oor/surface. Use
caution when passing over thresholds, oor drains, hoses or cables to prevent risk of the

3. Recharge in a designated dry area.
4. Always apply the brakes when moving the lifting hook attachment up and down.
5. NEVER exceed the indicated maximum load capacity. The limit indicated on the lifting hook
attachment must always be followed. The maximum load capacity is stated for the maximum
centered weight of the load positioned at the maximum distance from the mast.
6. Make sure to have the brakes on when using the lift to pick up and lower goods. Not using
the brakes may cause the lifting device to tilt backwards and consequently causing the
operator serious injuries or death.

authorized staff.
11. Always follow any local/national recommendations as well as the instructions in this manual.
In some countries the inspection of lifting equipment by a third party, after installation and
then on a yearly basis, is mandatory. Check the regulations in your country.
5. Important Information
To prevent damages and injuries caused by improper use and not to compromise the warranty and
liability: Follow all instructions in this manual at all times.
5.1 Product Description
This lifting device is used to transport powder handling bags. The lifting device is equipped with
a battery driven handling tool that allows goods to be raised and lowered. The user moves the
lifting device by pushing it, and prevents it from moving when stationary with the aid of brakes.
To charge the battery, the lifting device is connected to an electrical outlet (100-240 V). The
battery is fully charged after 8 hours. The lifting device can be plugged in for a longer period,
since it cannot be overcharged.
5.2 Battery Information
Battery type: Maintenance-free, totally sealed lead acid battery.
IMPORTANT! Used battery/circuit board should either be returned to an authorized
representative or handed over to a station for chemical waste. All other parts can be

8.3 Power
Make certain that the correct power cord for your country is installed on the lift. Plug the power
cord into an electric outlet and charge the battery for 8 hours. When charging is complete, pull
the power cord out of the electric outlet. Make sure that the battery is charged before use. Turn
the power on by pressing the main switch.
8.4 Safety Features
Safety Tape Switches
Make sure that the emergency tape switches on the legs are functioning properly. By pressing
the tape switch, the buzzer should sound.
If the buzzer fails to sound, have the tape switches repaired prior to using the lift.
The safety tape switches ensure no weight is placed on top of the wheel frames. This can cause
damage to the lifting device. This will also ensure that the operator is not located directly under
the lifting hook attachment, which can cause injury during use of the lifting device.
Peak Load Controller
The lifting device is equipped with a peak load controller which will prevent the lifting hook at-
tachment from being raised or lowered when the maximum capacity is exceeded. The load must
be reduced and the main switch needs to be reset before further use. For resetting the lift turn
the main switch off and back on.
The lift should only be used when it is in perfect working order.
8.5 Raising and Lowering the Lifting Hook Attachment
Use the detachable two-speed controller to raise or lower the lifting hook attachment. Press-
ing the buttons gently will move the lifting hook attachment at a low speed. Pressing hard will
increase the speed.
Main switch
12
8.6 Adjusting the Sensor
The lift has an adjustable sensor to limit the height of the lifting hook attachment. This can be
useful in cases where the ceiling is lower than the total height of the lift.
1. Remove protective cover on the side. Careful not to damage the lift.
2. Before adjusting the sensor, make sure the current position is marked. If it is not, mark the
current position. This is the highest possible position of the lifting hook attachment. If the
sensor is placed any higher, there is risk of detaching the internal drive system.
3. Using an Allen key, loosen the sensor and adjust to the necessary position.
4. Test if the position is correct by lowering and raising the lifting hook attachment.
5. Adjust if necessary.
6. Hand tighten the Allen screw and close the cover.
www.pall.com/biopharm 13
8.7 Moving the Lifting Device
Use the handlebars to move the lift around.
For safety reasons only move when the lifting hook attachment is at bottom position.
Take into account that the rear wheels can swivel, the front wheels are xed.
8.8 Adjusting Wheel Base Width
The wheel base can be widened in case the alignment of the lift with the Pall hardware is not
ideal. This can only be executed with proper safety measures and by the correct technical per-
sonal within the company.
Loosen the two bolts in the front and the back and slide the wheel bars outwards. Faster when
the adjustment is complete.
8.9 Adjusting the Hooks
Pull out the translation lock pin to slide the hook to one of the three predened positions. Slide it
back in to x the position. The pin is protected with a push button.
Choose the most appropriate position to use with the designated Pall hardware.

8.10 Installing the Powder Bag
The lifting device can be used with powder handling bags with a single or double handle. To
mount the powder handling bags, the handles of the bag must be placed on the hooks of the
lifting hook attachment.
For best use, the single handle powder handling bag should be placed on the center hook.
The double handle powder handling bag should be placed with the handles on the outer hooks.
8.11 Usage in Combination with Hardware
When all of the previous steps have been completed you can now use the lift in combination
with a designated Pall container or other Pall hardware. Depending on the type of hardware you
can place the lift on the sides or the front/back.
Additional adjustments in wheel base or hook position can still be made to have a perfect
alignment with the powder port to transfer powder into a single-use mixing biocontainer.
