Calibrant Waste/Drain Fitting Replacement
Follow the procedure below in the listed order of steps to replace the
calibrant waste/drain fitting.
NOTICE Two options for repair are available depending on the condition
of the drain fitting. If the drain fitting can be cleanly removed, only the
replacement drain fitting is needed. If the drain fitting is heavily
degraded and cannot be cleanly removed, then the drain fitting kit is
required.
Required Parts/Tools
Screwdriver, Torx™ T10
Screwdriver, Torx™ T20
5/16” or 8mm wrench
7mm wrench
P/N 1R76256-0105 – Drain Fitting only
1R120590-6260 – Kit, Drain Fitting ISQ EC/EM (depending on
condition of original fitting/nylon block; please see NOTICE.

Step 1.
Shutdown the instrument by following the Preparing the Mass
Spectrometer for Service section in the Service Instructions.
Remove the Bottom Panel Bezel Assembly (no. 4) shown in Figure 1 by
pulling straight from instrument.

Step 2
Remove the source housing by pulling up the two cam levers and pulling
straight.

Step 3.
Disconnect the cable from the fan housing as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4.
Remove the drip tray by removing the two screws shown in Figure 4.

Step 5.
Remove the source drain and spring as shown in Figure 5.

Step 6.
Remove the two screws shown in Figure 6.

Remove the two left-side screws as shown in Figure 7.

Remove the two right-side screws as shown in Figure 8.

Step 9
Pull the fan housing straight off and disconnect the 3 connectors as
shown in Figure 9.

Step 10
Flip the fan box over to gain clear access to the fittings and mounting
nuts as shown in Figure 10.
Step 11
Disconnect the flexible tubing from the smaller drain fitting (calibrant
waste). Remove the fitting with either a 5/16th or 8mm wrench.
Verify that no debris from the original fitting is left in the nylon block.
Install the replacement fitting in its place.

Step 12
This step is only necessary is debris of the original drain fitting cannot be
removed from the nylon drain block.
Use a 7mm wrench to remove the mounting nuts and install the
replacement drain assembly (kit). If complete replacement of drain
assembly is not required, please proceed to Step 13.

Step 13
Reassemble by following the previous steps in order from step 10 to step
1.
