ELECTRIC IMMERSION BAPTISMAL WATER HEATER

120 Volts — Single Phase
Especially Designed For Easy, Low Cost Installation In Baptistries

Installation And Operating Instructions
1.) The unit can be suspended in the middle, end or side of the Baptistry. Heater must be securely held in position
to prevent the electrical box from making contact with the water.
2.) Fill baptistry to required baptismal water depth. The heater must be immersed in water when it is turned
on or it can overheat and burn out, cause bodily harm, or can become a fire hazard.
NEVER TURN HEATER ON UNLESS BAPTISTRY IS FULL OF WATER.
3.) Plug heater into appropriate 120V receptacle (see wiring diagram on back of this sheet) and set desired
baptistry temperature on thermostat dial. The signal light glows only when heating element is energized.
When the desired temperature is reached the signal light will be off.
4.) Prior to the Baptismal Service the baptistry heater should be turned off, unplugged and removed from the baptistry.
There should be no body contact with the baptismal water while the heater is in the water. This will
guarantee protection from the danger caused if an electrical short circuit were to occur in the baptistry
heaters electrical system.
Baptistry Heat-Up Times
The SS-1.5-42 (1.5KW) will heat 25 GPH (30°F Temperature Rise).
A 100 gallon baptistry can be heated in 4-1/2 to 5 hours, or one-half
this time with a 15°
F Temperature Rise.
Two 1.5KW Little Giant Baptistry Immersion Heaters would
heat the water in one-half the time.
Hi-Limit:
If the thermostat should fail and its contacts stick in a closed position, the heating element will continue to heat the baptismal
water to about 117°F. At this temperature the Hi-Limit will open and turn the heating element off. After repairing or
replacing the thermostat the Hi-Limit can be manually reset.
CAUTION:
Under NO circumstances should this heater be turned on unless the system is full of water. Without water the heater coil
can burn out quickly and also damage the thermostat control. Our warranty is void under these circumstances and we will
assume no responsibility for damage to the heater, associated equipment or other damages.
Some water contains minerals such as magnesium, lime, and calcium. These minerals will coat the heated portion of the
element causing it to burn out or rupture. Little Giant is not responsible for this type of failure and the one year warranty
is cancelled. Heating elements can be cleaned periodically by wire brushing. This will prevent element from overheating
and rupturing the sheath. Should you have any questions call 800-231-6035.
WARRANTY:
The entire heater is guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects. Customer misuse voids the warranty.

Prior to the Baptismal Service the baptistry heater should be turned off,
unplugged and removed from the baptistry. This will guarantee protection from
the danger caused if an electrical short circuit were to occur in the baptistry
heaters electrical system.
Warning: Hazard of Severe Electric Shock or Electrocution
Disconnect power to heater before servicing. Installation must be grounded to earth and
heater connected to line input through properly sized GFCI circuit breaker.
Caution: When in doubt consult a professional electrician or call 800-231-6035.
