OPERATION
NOTE: Make sure the appliance is switched o (set the temperature control knob to
0 ) and the wae plate is closed before connecting it to a wall outlet.
Place the appliance on a clean, at and heat resistant surface.•
Insert the plug • (8) into a wall outlet (ill.
b
). The POWER indicator (12) and
READY indicator (11) turn on.
Set the required browning level with the temperature control knob • (10). The
READY indicator (11) turns o.
The appliance will now preheat to the preset temperature. Once the set •
temperature has been reached, the READY indicator (11) will turn on. The
time is about 3 to 5 minutes, which is subject to the temperature control knob
setting.
Unlock the latch • (2) by pressing on its upper part. Lift the upper wae plate (3)
it into a vertical position using the handle (1) (ill.
c
).
Apply cooking spray or spray butter on the wae plates • (3, 5). Now the
appliance is ready for baking waes.
Baking waes
Using the measuring cup • (6), pour half a cup of batter onto each wae square
(ill.
f
).
NOTE: Do not overll the wae forms, as any access batter may leak out of the
appliance. During the cooking process, the READY indicator (11) will turn on and
o several times to ensure a constant temperature.
Lower the upper wae plate • (3) and lock it in place (ill.
g
). Make sure the
appliance is fully closed and the latch (2) has locked in place.
Waes are done in about 3 to 6 minutes, depending on recipe, or when •
steaming begins to stop.
Open the appliance (ill. •
h
), as previously described, and remove the waes
using a plastic or wooden utensil (ill.
i
).
NOTE: Never use any metal utensils, as these will damage the nonstick coating.
After removing the waes, keep the wae plate closed, so that the heat •
remains inside the appliance for the next set of waes. Wait until the READY
indicator (11) lights up again. Repeat previous steps.
Unplug the appliance when you are done with preparing waes (ill. •
j
). Both
indicator lights switch o.
Allow appliance to cool down completely before handling again. •

Most waes can be made ahead of time and kept warm in a 200°F (90°C) oven. •
To store waes, let them cool and then pack into an airtight container. Store in •
