Cleaning and maintenance
Always switch the device off before carrying
out any cleaning or maintenance work. Switch
off the fuse.
Let the device cool down before cleaning it.
Do not use a steam cleaner for cleaning. The
steam may reach live parts and cause a short-
circuit.
During and after the cleaning, make sure
that none of the cooking zones is inadvertently
switched on.
Clean the device after every use. Dry the
device after every wet cleaning, as this will
reduce limescale residues.
Important! Do not use any aggressive
cleaning agents such as coarse abrasives,
scratching scouring pads, rust and stain
removers etc.
Glass ceramic cooktop
Cleaning after use
Always clean the entire cooktop if it is dirty –
the best would be after every use. Use a damp
cloth and a small amount of dishwashing
detergent for cleaning. Afterwards, rub the
cooktop dry using a clean cloth so that no
dishwasher detergent residues remain on the
surface.
Weekly maintenance
Thoroughly clean and maintain the entire
cooktop once a week using commercially
available glass ceramic cleaning agents.
The instructions of the respective manufacturer
must always be adhered to.
When applied, the cleaning agents will create a
protective film that has a water and dirt
repellent effect. All of the soiling will remain on
the film and can then be removed more easily.
Use a clean cloth to rub the surface dry
afterwards. No cleaning agent residues may
remain on the surface, as they will have an
aggressive effect when heated up which could
affect the surface.
Special soiling
Heavy soiling and stains (limescale stains,
pearly shimmering stains) are best to be
removed if the cooktop is still hand-warm. Use
commercially available cleaning agents for this
purpose.
Boiled over foods are to be softened using a
damp cloth first before removing the residual
dirt using a special glass scraper for glass
ceramic cooktops.
Burned-in sugar and melted plastic are to be
immediately removed – while still being hot –
using a glass scraper.
Grains of sand that may fall onto the cooking
surface when peeling potatoes or cleaning
salad can cause scratches when being moved
around. Therefore, make sure that no grains of
sand remain on the surface.
Changes in the colour of the cooktop do not
affect the functionality and stability of the glass
ceramic. These changes in colour are not
caused by damages to the cooktop, but by
residues that were not removed and have
therefore been burnt into the surface.
Glossy spots are caused by the abrasion of
the pot base, especially when using cooking
utensils with aluminium bases, or by unsuitable
cleaning agents. They are very hard to remove
with commercially available cleaning agents.
The cleaning may have to be repeated several
times. Due to the use of aggressive cleaning
agents and the abrasion caused by the pot
bases, the decor will become abraded over
time and dark stains will occur.
Cooktop extractor
Clean the surfaces of the exhaust air system
using a soft, damp cloth, detergent or a mild
window cleaning agent. Soften dried dirt
residues using a damp cloth. Do not scratch!
Cleaning the air inlet nozzle
Cleaning the stainless steel fat filter
The air inlet nozzle and the stainless steel fat
filter take up the greasy components of the
kitchen vapour. Clean these parts at least once
a week. When preparing foods that contain a
lot of fat, the parts must be cleaned after every
use.
Do not use any aggressive, acidic or alkaline
cleaning agents.
The air inlet nozzle and the stainless steel fat
filter can be cleaned in the dishwashing
machine or by hand.
Only clean the stainless steel surfaces in the
polishing direction and by using suitable
cleaning agents.
Clean the air inlet nozzle and the stainless
steel fat filter in the dishwashing machine at a
temperature of max. 55 °.
