Measuring diodes
Place the switch on the diode function
Place the probe tips on the terminals of the component to be
tested.
In the reverse direction the display gives the junction value in
volts
(threshold voltage)(resolution 1 mV, accuracy : ± 2%L
±15mV, short
circuit current : 0.8 mA)
.
In the forward direction the display shows the battery
voltage. Save the value if necessary by pressing the HOLD
key. With this function it is possible to test conventional
diodes, light emitting diodes and any other type of semi-
conductor having a junction corresponding with a direct
voltage of less than 3 Volt.
Protection: 500 Volt rms and 750 Volt peak.
20
Measuring capacitance
Place the switch on the Capacimeter function :
Never measure capacitance on a live circuit, and if possible remove
the component to test it. Respect the polarities of electrolytic
condensers. These condensers are sensitive to temperature, so they
must not be touched during measurement.
Place the probe tips on the terminals of the condenser.
The tester automatically selects the correct range: read off the value
measured.
NB : The bar graph is inhibited in capacitance measurement.
It is possible to use the additional function keys MIN/MAX,
RANGE, and HOLD
(refer to «Additional function keys», page 15)

Measuring frequencies
Place the switch on the frequency meter : Hz.
Place the probe tips in parallel on the circuit to be tested.
The range is selected automatically: read off the measured value.
NB : The bar graph is inhibited in frequency testing.
It is possible to use the additional function keys MIN/MAX,
RANGE, and HOLD
(refer to «Additional function keys», page 15)
