apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged,
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has

NOTE:
If the plug of the AC power cord does
not match your outlet, do not force it.
Reverse it and try again. This plug is
polarized and only fits one way into
the wall outlet.
NOTE: To change AM to PM time, advance the
clock time 12 hours. PM lamp LED will be
steadily on. Remember PM time is after
midday, AM time is before midday (no PM
LED on).
1 Connect the AC power cord into a live wall outlet. Clock display will show “12:00”
flashing.
To use battery backup
Install a 9V battery for clock backup, so
that if your home power is momentarily off
due to a power outage, you will not have to
set up the time & alarm settings. (This is
optional, your set will work ok without the
battery. It is only needed if you have
occasional power outages in your area,
and don’t care to reset the clock times.)

2 To set the correct hour and minute time, press and hold the CLOCK SET button, then
press the HOUR or MINUTE button until the desired time is displayed, then release
both buttons.
3 To reduce the brightness of the display, press the DIMMER button,
press again to restore.

7 Pressing the DISPLAY button repeatedly will alternately show you the track being
played or the clock time.
8 Press the STOP button to stop the playback.
9 Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to OFF position to turn off the power.

To pause the playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.

To resume the playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again.

•
To skip to the previous/next track, press the SKIP/SEARCH ( / ) buttons.

To search backward/forward at high speed, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH
( / ) buttons.
4 Close the CD door. The display will show the total
tracks of the disc.
5 Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playing,
the PLAY/PAUSE lamp will be steadily on.
2. Playing a CD
6 Adjust the VOLUME control to your preference.

•
To enjoy the music without disturbing others, insert your headphones (not included)
into the PHONES jack. The speakers will automatically be silenced. Remember
to unplug the headphones if you want the set to wake you up in the morning.

1 Make sure the AC power cord is plugged in (see page 3).
2 Slide the FM/AM/CD/AUDIO IN switch to the CD/AUDIO IN position and the BUZZER/
AUTO/OFF/ON switch to ON position.
3 Lift the either side of the CD door to open it and place a disc in the CD compartment
with the label side facing up.

If you want to listen to the CD for only a short time, simply press the SLEEP button,
you will not need to slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to ON position
(see page 10).

3. Repeat, Programmed and Random Play
Repeat Play
1 Press the REPEAT button once to play the current song
over and over, the REPEAT lamp will be flashing.
2 Press the REPEAT button twice to repeat playing all the
songs in order, the REPEAT lamp will be steadily on.
3 Press the REPEAT button three times to cancel the
repeat play, the REPEAT lamp will go off.

1 Slide the FM/AM/CD/AUDIO IN switch to CD/AUDIO IN
position and the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to ON
position. Make sure the set is in STOP mode.
2 Press the PROGRAM button. The track number “ ”
and the PROGRAM lamp will flash in the display.
3 Press the SKIP/SEARCH ( / ) button to select the
desired track, and press the PROGRAM button to confirm.
4 Repeat step 3 to program other tracks till you finish (up to
20 tracks).
5 Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start programmed
play. The PLAY/PAUSE lamp and the PROGRAM lamp
will be steadily on.
To play all the programmed tracks repeatedly
Press the REPEAT button twice in program play mode.
To change the current program
Just create a new program following the programming procedure.
To cancel programmed play
Press the STOP button twice or slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to OFF
position.
Random Play
To play the songs in random order
To resume normal play
Press the RANDOM button again, the RANDOM lamp will go off.
During play or in STOP mode, press the RANDOM button,
the RANDOM lamp will be steadily on, and the set will
play all the tracks in random order.
Press SKIP/SEARCH button to skip to the next
random song.

Playing other Audio Devices through your Set
You can enjoy the music of a digital MP3 player, computer or any other external audio
device (with a 3.5mm stereo jack) through the set.
1 Insert an audio cable (not included) with 3.5mm plugs on each end into the
HEADPHONES jack or LINE OUT jack of your MP3 player or computer, and the
other end into the AUDIO IN jack of this set. This cable is available in any electronic
store.

2 Connect the supplied AC power cord (see page 3).
3 Slide the FM/AM/CD/AUDIO IN switch to CD/AUDIO IN position and the BUZZER/
AUTO/OFF/ON switch to ON position.
4 Turn on your MP3 player or computer, adjust the VOLUME control of the MP3
player/computer and this set’s volume to the desired level.
5 Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to OFF position after use.
NOTE 1: When connecting an audio player to the set while the set is playing a CD, the
set will exit CD mode and switch to AUDIO IN mode automatically.
NOTE 2: Make sure to disconnect the audio cable from the AUDIO IN jack at the left
side of the set when playing a CD.
NOTE 3: Remember to unplug the AUDIO IN if you want the set to wake you up from
CD in the morning.

position after listening, so that the buzzer alarm, CD music or radio will wake
you up at your preset time (see page 8).

3 Tune into the station you prefer using the TUNING control. Adjust for the clearest

To improve broadcast reception
Fully stretch out the FM ANTENNA for better FM reception.
Reorient the player itself for better AM reception, or locate the set near a window.
5 Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to OFF position to turn off the radio.

5. Setting the Alarm Time
3 The buzzer, CD or radio will be turned on to wake you up at the preset ALARM time.
1 To check the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 time, slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch
to BUZZER or AUTO position and the ALARM switch to position 1 or position 2,
then press the ALARM SET button. The individual alarm time will be shown on the
display until you release the ALARM SET button.
2 To set the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 time, slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to
BUZZER or AUTO position and the ALARM switch to position 1 or position 2, and
press the ALARM SET button down together with the HOUR or MINUTE button until
the desired time is displayed, then release both buttons.

This set has dual alarms. You may set ALARM 1 to wake you at a certain time, or

the time you set.

AUTO position will wake you up to CD or radio.
•
BUZZER position will wake you up to a buzzer.
NOTE:
1.When the ALARM switch is in the ALARM 1+2 position, you can’t check and set the
ALARM time.
2.If you want this set to wake you up in the morning, the PM lamp should not light up
on alarm time, this means AM (morning time).
3.Make sure the volume is set loud enough to wake you up in the morning.
4.You can fall asleep to CD or radio and then have the set wake you up in the
morning (see sleep instructions on page 10).

6. Waking up to Buzzer, Radio or CD
There are three alarm sources to select: buzzer, radio and CD. Having set the alarm
time and the alarm source, the proper alarm (buzzer, radio or CD) will sound at your
pre-set alarm time.
1 Set the alarm time as previously instructed (see page 8).
NOTE: You can set either alarm or both, the individual ALARM lamp (ALARM 1 or
ALARM 2 or both) will light up in the display.
2 Select the alarm source (radio, CD or buzzer) as below:

NOTE 1:
For CD and radio ALARMS,
make sure the volume setting
is loud enough to wake you up.
NOTE 2:
For CD ALARM, make sure
there is a CD disc loaded in the
compartment.
3 After the alarm goes on in the morning, if you press the
SNOOZE button, the alarm will be temporarily shut off, and 9
minutes later, it will turn on again; If you press the ALARM/
SLEEP/OFF button, the alarm will go off and come on again in
the next morning at the same time automatically (providing
the switches were not changed).
To completely shut off the alarm function
Just slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to OFF position, the ALARM 1 lamp
or ALARM 2 lamp or both will be off. (The set will not wake you up the following
morning.)

7. Setting the Sleep Time

The SLEEP control will allow the set to play 59 minutes (or 1 hour and 59 minutes)
before the set turns itself off. This is useful if you want to fall asleep to music or if you
just want to hear about an hour of music without changing any settings or switches.
1 Press the SLEEP button.

4 To set the sleep time for longer or shorter than 59 minutes, press and hold the SLEEP
button, then press the HOUR or MINUTE button until the desired time is displayed.
The SLEEP lamp is steadily on and the
CD or radio starts to play.
The CD or radio will
turn itself off in an
hour and 59 minutes.
5 To turn the CD or radio off before the playing time has expired,
simply press the ALARM/SLEEP/OFF button.

NOTE: Holding the SLEEP button and pressing the
HOUR button, will change the sleep time to 1
hour and 59 minutes.
3 To check the sleep time, press the SLEEP button, the sleep time will be shown on the
display until you release the SLEEP button.

On placement
•
Do not leave the player in a location
near heat source, or in a place subject
to direct sunlight, excessive dust or
mechanical shock or vibration.
•
Do not place the player on an inclined
or unstable place.
•
Do not place anything within 1 inch of
the back of the cabinet. The ventilation
holes must be unobstructed for the
player to operate properly and prolong
the life of its components.
•
Since a strong magnet is used for the
speakers, keep personal credit cards
using magnetic coding or spring-wound
watches away from the speaker to prevent
possible damage from the magnet.
On safety
•
As the laser beam used in the CD player
section is harmful to the eyes, do not
attempt to disassemble the casing. Refer
servicing to qualified personnel only.
•
Should any solid object or liquid fall into
the player, unplug the player, and have
it checked by qualified personnel
before operating it any further.
On power sources
•
For battery backup, you may use a 9V
battery (optional), so that you will not
have to re-set the clock every time the
power is lost. The radio will not play with
the 9V battery. You will just save time by
not having to reset all the times and alarms.
•
The nameplate indicating operating
voltage, power consumption, etc. is
located at the bottom of the set.
On operation
•
If the player is brought directly from a
cold to a warm location, or is placed in
a very damp room, moisture may
condense on the lens inside the CD
player section. Should this occur, the
player will not operate properly. In this
case, remove the CD and wait about
an hour for the moisture to evaporate.
Notes on CDs
•
Before playing, clean the CD with a
cleaning cloth. Wipe the CD from the
center out.
•
Do not use solvents such as benzine,
thinner, commercially available cleaners
or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.
•
Do not expose the CD to direct sunlight
or heat sources such as hot air ducts,
nor leave it in a car parked in direct
sunlight as there can be a considerable
rise in temperature inside the car.
•
Do not stick paper or stickers on the CD,
nor scratch the CD.
•
After playing, store the CD in its case. If
there is a scratch, dirt or fingerprints on
the CD, it may cause a tracking error or
skipping.

dirty, it may cause a
skipping of sound
during CD operation.
Clean with a
commercially available
lens cleaner blower or
a cotton swab.
Cleaning the cabinet
Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with
a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use any type
of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or
solvent, such as alcohol or benzine.
Precautions
Scratched discs
If your disc is badly scratched, it will not
play. You may be able to repair the disc if
you buy a disc polisher.
Cleaning the lens
•
This CD player is designed to be played
on a stable no vibration position. If you
bump the set during CD play, the music
will stop or skip for a few seconds. This
is normal for this type of player.

•
Fully stretch out the FM antenna to improve
FM reception.

General

The sound drops out.
Alarm does not come on in
the morning.
•
AM or PM is not set correctly. Is alarm time
set in AM range? (PM lamp should be off.)
•
BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch is not set to
the proper position. Does the ALARM 1/ALARM
2 lamp light up on the display?
Bring the set near a window, or rotate the set
for AM reception.
Radio
“ ” appears in the
display instead of the total
track number in STOP mode.
• Try another compact disc. This set will not
play MP3 or WMA discs.
Trouble Shooting
•
Make sure the FM/AM/CD/AUDIO IN switch
is at the right position as you want.
•
Adjust the volume.
•
Unplug the headphones when listening
through speakers.
“ ” appears in the
display even when a CD is
in place.
•
Insert a good CD with the label side up (not
damaged or scratched).
CD does not play.
•
Make sure to disconnect the audio cable from
the AUDIO IN jack at the left side of the set.
•
Make sure that the CD compartment is closed.
•
Place the CD with the label side up.
•
CD play is paused, press
again.
•
Clean the CD or try another compact CD,
this set will not play MP3 or WMA discs.
Replace the disc (this set will not play
damaged or scratched CDs), or buy a disc

for about an hour to dry moisture condensation.

Make sure the FM/AM/CD/AUDIO IN switch
is at CD/AUDIO IN position.

There is no sound.

Connect the AC power cord to a wall outlet
securely. Make sure that outlet has power.
Check the outlet with a lamp.
• Clean the CD, or replace it if the CD is badly
damaged.
• Place the player in a location free from vibration.

LIMITED WARRANTY
We warrant this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship
under normal use for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase. Should it
become defective within the 90 day warranty period, we will repair or replace it
at no charge. You must submit proof of purchase (sales slip) with the set.
For the time period of 91 days to 12 months from the date of purchase, we
will replace any defective parts at no charge. There is a $12.00 charge for labor.
After 12 months, you will be charged for both parts and labor. Please call our
customer service department for repair information.
We reserve the right to repair/replace the returned product with a similar
item of equal or greater value, subject to availability. Pack the set carefully and
enclose your money order (personal checks will not be accepted) and sales
receipt. The money order should be made out to LENOXX ELECTRONICS
CORP. Return the set to LENOXX at the address below, postage and insurance
to be paid by you. LENOXX will pay for shipment of the repaired/replaced item
back to you.
This warranty does not apply to any products which have been subject to
misuse, neglect or accident. This warranty does not cover batteries, broken
earphones, cords or cabinets. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL LENOXX
ELECTRONICS CORP. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or
exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.
