SAFETY

MAIN (AC) OPEARTION
This unit is designed to operate on 230V 50Hz current only. Connecting it
to other power sources may damage the unit.
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following
code
BLUE-NEUTRAL
BROWN-LIVE
IMPORTANT
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your
plug proceed as follows.
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which
is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
No connection is to be made to the earth terminal of the plug. If a 13
Amp(BS 1363) Plug is used a 3 Amp Fuse must be fitted or if any other
type of plug is used a 3 or 5 Amp Fuse must be fitted either in the Plug or
Adaptor or on the Distribution Board. If in doubt, consult a qualified
electrician.
For your safety and convenience this product comes with a UK standard
mains plug.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – Read before operating equipment
This product was designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and
safety standards. There are however, some installation and operation
precautions which you should be particularly aware of:
1. Read instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should
be read before the appliance is operated.
2. Retain instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be
retained for future reference.
3. Head Warnings - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating
instruction should be adhered to.
4. Follow instructions - All operating and use instructions should be
followed.
5. Water and Moisture - The appliance should not be used near water.
For example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub in
a wet basement or near a swimming pool, etc.
6. Ventilation - The appliance should be situated so that its location or
position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example,
the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa rug or similar
surface that may block the ventilation openings or placed in a built-in
installation such as a bookcase or cabinet that may impede the flow
of sir through the ventilation openings.
7. Heat - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources
such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
8. Power Source - The appliance should be connected to a power
supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as
marked on the appliance.
9. Power-Cord Protection - Power supply cords should be routed so
that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed
upon or against them. Paying particular attention to cords and plugs,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
appliance.
10. Cleaning - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended
by the manufacturer.
11. Unused Periods - The power cord of the appliance should be
unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of time.
12. Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not
fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.
13. Damage Requiring Service - The appliance should be serviced by
qualified service personnel when:
A. The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged,
or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has spilled into the
appliance, or
C. The appliance has been exposed to rain, or
D. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or
exhibits a marked change in performance, or
E. The appliance has been dropped or the enclosure
damaged.
14. Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the appliance
beyond that described in the operating instructions. All other
servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
POWER
(A) AC POWER OPERATION
1. Before connecting the unit to an AC outlet, check that the
operating Voltage of the unit is identical with the Voltage of
your local power supply.
2. Remove any battery installed.
3. Connect the AC outlet cord with the AC Source.
(B) BATTERY OPERATION
1. Please disconnect the AC Power Cord before installing
batteries.
2. Remove the Battery Compartment cover, put 2 R20 (2 x D)
batteries with correct polarity indicated.
3. Don’t mix old and new batteries. Please replace the batteries
if reception becomes poor.
LISTEN TO THE RADIO
1. Rotate the Volume knob clockwise till a “click” sound is heard to
switch on the radio. Rotate the knob further till a desired sound level
is reached.
2. Use the band switch to choose between AM (MW), FM, LW or SW.
3. Turn the TUNING knob, select the station you want to receive.
4. Rotate the Volume knob anti-clockwise till a “click” sound is heard to
switch off the radio.
Remark:
If the radio will not be used for a long time, please remove the batteries as
well as disconnect the AC power cord.
Tips:
1. When you receive FM or SW stations, please extend the telescopic
antenna to its maximum length in order to achieve the best reception.
2. When you receive MW or LW stations, you can change the position and
direction of the radio in order to get the best reception.
MAINTENANCE
Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture or extremely high humidity.
Do not place the unit in direct sunlight.
Do not use new and old batteries together.
Exhausted batteries must be removed from unit.
Only batteries as suggested in this manual and the unit rating must be
used.
Do not place the unit near strong magnetic force or magnets.
Do not clean with Benzene thinner or any other abrasive chemicals.
If you need to clean the cabinet should it get dirty, use a soft clean cloth. If
a mark is present then moisten the cloth very slightly and use a mild soap
solution.
To avoid damage to your unit, when your Omega 4060 is not going to be
used for a long period of time, be sure to have removed the batteries from
the unit and re-pack in the packaging supplied. This avoids damage to
your unit and prevents any possible leakage's occurring from the
batteries.

If at any time in the future you wish to dispose of this product, please note
that in accordance with the "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Directive", all waste electrical products should NOT be disposed of
together with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist.

this product for recycling advice.
