2 Safety instructions
This device amplies electric audio frequency signals to operate passive speakers. Use the
device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other operating con‐
ditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No
liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use.
This device may be used only by persons with sucient physical, sensorial, and intellectual
abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this
device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.

DANGER!
Electric shock caused by high voltages inside
Within the device there are areas where high voltages may be present. Never
remove any covers.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Do not use the device if covers, protectors or optical components are missing or
damaged.
DANGER!
Electric shock caused by short-circuit
Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord) with a pro‐
tective contact plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so
could result in electric shock/death or re. If in doubt, seek advice from a regis‐
tered electrician.

CAUTION!
Possible hearing damage
With loudspeakers or headphones connected, the device can produce volume
levels that may cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment.
Do not operate the device permanently at a high volume level. Decrease the
volume level immediately if you experience ringing in your ears or hearing
impairment.
NOTICE!
Risk of re
Do not block areas of ventilation. Do not install the device near any direct heat
source. Keep the device away from naked ames.

NOTICE!
Operating conditions
This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never
expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and
strong vibrations.
NOTICE!
Power supply
Before connecting the device, ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches
the voltage rating of the device and that the AC outlet is protected by a residual
current circuit breaker. Failure to do so could result in damage to the device and
possibly injure the user.
Unplug the device before electrical storms occur and when it is unused for long
periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or re.

NOTICE!
Magnetic elds
The device generates strong magnetic elds that can interfere with the function
of poorly shielded devices. The strongest magnetic elds are directly above and
below the power amplier. Therefore, never place sensitive devices such as pre-
ampliers, radio transmission systems, or tape decks directly above or below the
power amplier. When installing the power amplier into a rack, you should place
it in the lowest position, and further equipment such as pre-ampliers in the
highest position.
NOTICE!
Possible damage due to installation of a wrong fuse
The use of dierent types of fuses can cause serious damage to the unit. Fire
hazard!
Only fuses of the same type may be used.

4 Installation and starting up
Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit. Keep the
equipment packaging. To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during
transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable
for transport or storage, respectively.
Create all connections while the device is o. Use the shortest possible high-quality cables for
all connections. Take care when running the cables to prevent tripping hazards.
DANGER!
Electric shock caused by high voltages at the power amplier output
The output voltages of modern high-performance ampliers may result in death
or serious injury.
Never touch the bare ends of loudspeaker cables when the amplier is on.

Magnetic elds
The device generates strong magnetic elds that can interfere with the function

ampliers, radio transmission systems, or tape decks directly above or below the

Depending on the individual application, the amplier can be used in dierent operation
modes:
Stereo mode
The two amplier channels operate independently of one another, either
channel (A and B) is amplied and connected to loudspeakers, the volume can
be controlled separately for the two outputs.
Parallel mode
The two amplier channels receive the same input signal from channel A and
loudspeakers are connected to each amplier, the volume is controlled via the
control knob for channel A.
Bridged mode
The two amplier channels are internally connected in such a way that twice
the output power is available. Only the input signal from channel A is amplied
and loudspeakers are connected only to the correspondingly marked output.
The volume is controlled via the control knob for channel A.

16
For each output of the amplier, the total impedance resulting from the loudspeakers con‐
nected to it must not be below the allowed minimal impedance of the amplier output. If you
connect more than one loudspeaker to an amplier output, please note the following:
n If the loudspeakers are connected in a series, the individual impedances will be added up.
n If the loudspeakers are connected in parallel, the reciprocal of the total impedance equals
the sum of the reciprocals of the individual impedances.
Example: If you have two loudspeakers with the same impedance, their impedance doubles if
they are connected in a series, their impedance halves if they are connected in parallel.
