SAFETY RULES
The appliance is suitable to keep food for domestic use; any other use would be im-
proper.
Installation must be carried out by following the instructions contained in the booklet;
a wrong installation could damage the appliance. Should there be any functioning prob-
lems please refer to authorized after sales service centres, or however, always and only
to specialized technicians.
Before carrying out any maintenance operation detach the electric feeding plug
by grasping only the plug. Avoid pulling the feeding cable or the appliance.
Keep the instruction booklet and pass it on to the next possible user of the appliance.
In order to keep in line with the most recent legal provisions on the protection of the
environment, we use a little quantity of refrigerating substances called R600 or R134 ac-
cording to the model type. The type of refrigerant material used is indicated on the data
tag. In case of damages to the refrigerating circuit such as pipes etc., to appliances fitted
with R600a it is recommended to aerate for a few minutes the room where the appliance
is situated and do not cause any flames or sparks or any other ignition sources.
The parts that are in contact with food comply with Legislative Decree n° 108 of the 25/
01/1992 and with EEC directive 89/109.
The EC marking confirms the adherence of this appliance to the European Directives
89/336 (electromagnetic compatibility), 73/23 (low voltage), 96/57 energetic efficiency)
and other amendments.
DISPOSAL OF
THE OLD APPLIANC
In case this appliance were to replace another to be disposed of with various locking
devices, ensure before disposal, that you have rendered the said
devices unusable, thus avoiding the danger that children or animals get locked into it.
Remove the plug from the socket and cut the feeding cable. Refrigerators and freezers
contain gas and other substances which must be disposed of in a proper way and, fur-
thermore, contain many items which can be recycled.
Deliver the products to proper disposal centres; your municipality could supply you
with all the necessary information regarding the correct ecological disposal thereof.

KNOW YOUR APPLIANCE
REVERSIBILITY OF THE DOOR
The door normally opens from the right (hinges on the left); should it be more conven-
ient for you to have the door opening from the left you could modify such opening by
following the instructions given hereunder.
1.
Remove the feeding plug from the socket.
2.
Remove the internal fittings.
3.
Gently lay the appliance on its back with the door facing upwards.
4.
Unscrew the lower hinge (R1), unscrew the pin from the left and screw it again
on the right.
5.
Slide the door from the upper hinge (R3).
6.
Unscrew the upper hinge plate (R4).
7.
Screw the upper plate to the right after an 180° rotation (R5).

Slide the refrigerator door in the upper hinge (R6) and screw the lower hinge
(R7).

Should the door not be aligned you could correct this by following the instruc-
tions given hereunder:
•
Slightly unscrew the screw that fixes the plate with the pin (R8) to the upper
hinge.
•
Shut the door and align it to the instrument panel.
•
Tighten the screw and check that the gasket closes perfectly.
NB. To restart the appliance follow the instructions under the installation chapter.
REVERSIBILITY OF THE HANDLE
•
Unscrew the handle from the right hand side.
•
Trace the holes on the left hand side using the handle as a DIMA.
•
Drill the hole with a 2,5 mm tip.
•
Screw the handle.
•
Insert the screws covering plugs.

INSTALLATION
OF THE APPLIANCE
After having unpacked the appliance check that it is not damaged. Any possible damage
must be immediately notified to the retailer.
Do not disperse the packing material in the environment (plastic bags, polystyrene strips
etc.) and do not leave it within children’s reach.
If the appliance has been delivered to your dwelling in a horizontal position, or you
have carried out the reversibility of the door, wait for a few minutes before inserting the
plug into the socket to allow the oil to flow back into the compressor.
Place the appliance in a dry and aerated area, away from atmospheric elements.
Avoid placing it on balconies, verandas, or terraces; excessive summer heat or cold in
winter could alter the functioning of the appliance or even damage it.
Do not place it near a heat source such as an oven or heater and keep it away from
other furniture, at least 3/5 cm from the sides and 10 cm from the top.
Keep the appliance away from the wall by using the spacers to be fitted at the rear, this
will facilitate the proper closing of the door.
Clean the inside of the appliance with bicarbonate of soda diluted in water (1 spoon
every 4 litres of water); do not use alcohol, abrasive powders or detergents as these
could damage the surfaces.
Your appliance can be coupled with a No-frost freezer of the same dimensions
through an assembling kit supplied separately and which must be requested
from the retailer.
The climatic class of your appliance is indicated on the data plate. This determines the
range of room temperatures for which this appliance has been manufactured thus guar-
anteeing its good functioning. Should there be two climatic classes indicated, the good
functioning of the appliance is guaranteed for each class.
HOW TO SAVE ON ELECTRICITY
Firstly, the best way to save on electricity, as already mentioned under the foregoing
installation paragraph, is to choose the proper location where the appliance is to be
placed. Secondly, avoid letting warm air get into the appliance, therefore, you must
keep the door open for the least possible time. Do not place hot food above all
soups or any thing similar that cause a great deal of steam evaporating inside the
appliance. Periodically check the door gaskets and make sure that the door closes
properly, if not, call the after sales service centre. The third way to save on energy
is to keep efficient the parts that exchange heat; periodically clean the condenser
as indicated later in the booklet.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Ensure that the voltage (Volt. V) from the feeding socket corresponds to what is report-
ed on the data plate inside the appliance.
In case of incompatibility between the plug and socket do not use adapters, but have
the socket replaced with the right type by qualified technicians.
The socket feeding the appliance must be kept functioning for future operations (clean-
ness, defrosting, etc.) In case of damages to the cable, arrange for its immediate replace-
ment by calling on specialized centres for such replacement and assembly.
The electrical safety in this appliance is assured only when the said appliance is con-
nected to an efficiently earthen plant as provided for by the electrical safety regulations
in force.

STARTING PROCEDURE
If the appliance has been delivered to your dwelling in a horizontal position wait for a
few minutes before inserting the plug into the socket in order for the oil to flow back
into the compressor.
Clean the inside of the appliance (see internal cleanness), then connect your appliance
to the electrical socket.
USE OF THE APPLIANCE
Adjusting Refrigerator Knob
To adjust the internal temperature rotate the thermostat KNOB on the control panel. Po-
sition 1 corresponds to less cold temperatures, whereas higher numbers correspond to
colder temperatures. An intermediate position would be advisable.
To switch off the appliance rotate the thermostat knob to 0/ STOP position.
WARNING. The appliance remains under voltage.
Internal temperatures are affected by the room temperature, by the frequency of door
opening and by the quantity of food placed inside. Accordingly you may choose the
position which can offer the best temperature.
In extreme environmental conditions it is advisable to use the thermostat in a
different way.
When the room temperature is very hot (e.g. during summer), it is advisable to
set the knob on low numbers. Vice-versa with a very cold room temperature it
is advisable to set the knob on higher numbers.
Packets and food items placed on the
shelves must not touch the back wall of
the appliance.
Every food item must be properly posi-
tioned because the temperature inside the
refrigerator is colder in certain areas for a
better preservation.
To save on electricity please follow the in-
structions contained in the specific chap-
ter.
DEFROSTING
Defrosting of the Refrigerator
It is automatic and the water flows into the collecting tank placed above the compressor
through the draining hole. The water will eventually evaporate due to the heat pro-
duced by the compressor.
Note:
that water drops or ice on the back wall of the appli-
ance do not constitute a defect.
CLEANNESS
Internal Cleanness
Before carrying out any operation the plug must be detached from the electrical feeding
socket. Clean the appliance with bicarbonate of soda diluted in water (1 spoon for every
4 litres of water). DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE DETERGENTS. Rinse with water and
dry with a cloth. Insert the plug into the electrical feeding socket. Set the appliance knob
on preserving temperature. Wait 3/4 hours before placing food items into the appliance.

External Cleanness
Before carrying out any operation the plug must be detached from the electrical feeding
socket. For the external cleanness use the same procedure and the same gentle attention
used for the internal cleanness. Remember to clean the compressor every now and
again; the compressor is placed at the back of the appliance.
To clean the compressor use a brush or, even better, a vacuum cleaner.
SMALL FAULTS AND
ANOMALIES
Before calling the after sales service check if the problem can be solved through the
following controls.
Unusual noise
- The feet have not been properly set and the appliance vibrates.
The appliance does not cool
- Check if the plug is in contact with the electrical feed-
ing socket. A fuse in the electrical plant of the house has burnt out. The general switch
in the house has switched off. The thermostat is off, the knob is set on 0.
Water drops on the external walls of the appliance
- In the intermediate seasons,
Spring and Autumn, when the house heating is not being used, it could happen that the
external walls of the appliance get covered with water drops (condense). This phenom-
enon does not compromise the good functioning of the appliance and it is not danger-
ous to people.
Frost formation inside the appliance
- The door has not been properly shut; the
door has been opened too often.
Water drops on vertical back wall of the appliance
- It is not a defect.
It is difficult to open the door
- It is normal, especially soon after the door has been
closed, that it is rather difficult to reopen it right away. It is due to the door’s gaskets
being perfectly airtight. It would suffice awaiting a few minutes before attempting to re-
open the door.
The light inside the appliance is off:
•
Check the points listed under “The appliance does not cool”.
•
The globe has burnt out.
Change the globe by complying with the following procedure:- detach the plug from
the electrical feeding socket, use a screwdriver as a wedge to open the light box (it is
inserted by pressure) (fig. L1); change the globe with a similar one (max. 15 Watt) (fig.
L2); replace the box. Remove the burnt out lamp only if you have another lamp readily
available for the change.
Water drops at the bottom of the appliance
- The draining hole is obstructed, use a
piece of wire to clean it (fig. L3).
