If a condition exists where the unit may ignite the rear burner at
the orifice an air shield bracket, part number 121005-01 may be
installed to prevent this.
To install bracket:
1. Turn off unit and allow to cool.
2. Turn off gas supply to unit.
3. Remove all logs from unit (see owner ’s manual).
4. Using two 9/16" open end wrenches, hold rear injector and
loosen compression nut (see Figure 1).

5. Pull tube away from injector approximately 1" (see Figure 2).
6. Firmly holding burner, loosen and remove injector from rear
burner using a wrench if necessary (see Figure 3). Be sure to
hold firmly to burner as the flange will bend if force is used.
7. Inspect position of rear burner to insure lower edge of burner
flange is parallel to corresponding notch in chassis (see Figure
4). If burner is not in this position, twist burner into position
by hand.

8. Position air shield bracket (121005-01) against flange on right
end of burner as shown in Figure 5.
9. Insert injector back into center and tighten finger tight (see
Figure 6).
10. Push tube back toward injector and start compression nut onto
injector (see Figure 7).
11. Using two 9/16" wrenches, hold injector in place and tighten
compression nut onto injector. Do not rotate injector.
12. Inspect position of rear burner to insure lower edge of burner
flange is parallel to corresponding notch in chassis (see Figure
4, page 1). If burner is not in this position, twist burner into
position by hand.
13. Restore gas supply to unit. Start unit and carefully check
connection between injector and tube with noncorrosive leak
detection fluid.
14. Replace logs (see owner’s manual).
