FEATURES:
• Tests 12V batteries, alternators, regulators and starters
• Tests batteries up to 160Ah/1000CCA
• 500 Amp adjustable load carbon pile and battery temperature scale
• Color-coded temperature compensation pass/fail chart
• Color-coded separate voltmeter and ampere meter
WARNING!
• Variable load carbon pile testers produce heat when in use. Take care to allow sufficient
time to cool down between tests to avoid injury due to heat build up.
• Be sure load is off before attaching or removing clamps to prevent arcing or potential
explosion from battery gasses. Always shield eyes and keep any sparks away during
testing.
OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place the tester HORIZONTALLY on a stable surface.
2. Rotate the knob counterclockwise to ensure the load is on the “OFF” position. Connect the
RED clamp to the POS. (+) terminal of the battery, then the BLACK clamp to the NEG (+)
terminal. DO NOT REVERSE HOOK-UP.
3. Check battery status of charge.
4. Rotate the knob clockwise quickly to apply load to battery equal to 1/2 CCA rating or 3 times
the hour rating. Read on ampere meter.
5. Hold load for about 15 seconds.
6. When the buzzer in the tester sounds, read voltage and then turn off load.
7. Disconnect the clamps and store them.
