Look at the LEDs (lights) on the front panel.
•The POWER light is green when the LTE3301 is receiving power
and functioning properly. It blinks when the LTE3301 is in the
process of starting up.
•The INTERNET light is green when Internet access is available and
it is off when Internet access is unavailable. It blinks when
transmitting data.
•The LTE light is green when the LTE3301 is connected to the LTE
network. It blinks slowly when the LTE3301 is attached to a 2G/3G
network. It blinks fast when the LTE3301 is searching for a channel.
•The LTE SIGNAL STRENGTH light displays the LTE connection’s
signal quality. Green, orange and red colors mean different signal
quality from the best to the lowest. It blinks red light when the
LTE3301 cannot detect any LTE signal.
•The WLAN/WPS light stays on and green when the 2.4GHz band
wireless LAN is ready. The light will not turn on if the wireless
connection is not activated. It blinks green per 0.5 seconds after you
press the WPS button. The process takes up to 2 minutes within
which you can add a WPS-enabled device to the wireless network.
See the User’s Guide for more information.
•The LAN light stays on if a physical Ethernet connection.
If the POWER light does not turn on during start up, disconnect the LTE3301’s
power, check the connections, wait a few seconds and connect it again. If the
problem persists, you may have a hardware problem and you need to contact your
vendor.

Set Up a Wireless Connection
The LTE3301’s wireless LAN is enabled by default. Use the wireless
SSID (network name) and encryption key on the back panel to manually
add a wireless client to the network. Refer to the User’s Guide if you
wish to use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) instead.
1. Right-click the wireless connection icon in the bottom right of your
computer monitor. Click View Available Wireless Networks.
WiFi SSID: ZyXEL_xxxx (xxxx is the last 4 digits of the
WiFi Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxx (13 random alphanumeric
MAC address)
characters.)
7
2. Select the LTE3301’s SSID name and click Connect (A). The SSID
“SecureWirelessNetwork” is given here as an example.
3. When prompted for a password, enter the (WPA2-PSK) encryption
key from the back panel of the LTE3301 and click Connect.
4. You may have to wait several moments while your computer connects
to the wireless network.
5. You should now be securely connected wirelessly to the LTE3301.

If you cannot connect wirelessly to the LTE3301, check that you selected the
correct SSID and entered the correct security key. Make sure the LTE3301’s
WLAN is enabled and the WLAN/WPS LED is on.

Connect to the Internet
1. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1.
• If your service provider’s LTE login page appears instead of
your default Home page then all you need to do is enter the
login information that you were given and follow the on-
screen instructions. The LTE3301 should then automatically
update itself with the settings that you need to connect to
the Internet.
• If your service provider’s LTE login page does not appear, do
the following:
2. Enter the default username “admin” and password “1234”. Click
Login.
If the login screen does not open, make sure you allow web browser pop-up
windows, JavaScript and Java permissions. Your computer should also be
set to get an IP address automatically from a DHCP server. See your User’s
Guide for more information.

3. Change a new password.
4. If the INTERNET light is off, manually configure the Internet
connection. Click Configuration > Network > WAN and then the
Modify icon.
The APN identifies the LTE network to which your LTE Modem connects.
5. Check the APN string and change it if it is different than what you got
from your ISP vendor. Change other settings on this page also if
necessary. Click Apply.
11
6. Wait for the INTERNET light to turn on and then try browsing to a
website.
• For more information see the WAN section in the User’s Guide.
• To configure wireless access, go to Configuration > Network >
Wireless LAN.
• To set up WPS using the Web Configurator, go to Configuration >
Network > Wireless LAN > WPS.
