Switch off the unit when you remove it from the refrigerator. The low temperatures inside the refrigerator
will cause condensation on and inside the unit’s casing as soon as it comes into contact with room tempe-
rature. If the unit is not switched off, the electrical parts may short circuit and cause damage to the metal
parts or the batteries.
Before changing the batteries, make sure that the unit is completely dry and remove completely any con-
densed water that might have been developed in order to avoid short-circuits and damages of metal parts.
Remove the batteries if the unit is not being used for a lengthy period of time.
Do not bring the unit in contact with water.
The unit is only designed for use in the refrigerator. Please never put it in the freezer compartment or the
freezer!
Do not use the unit in the vicinity of fl ammable or combustible products or vapors.
Do not shake the unit, otherwise internal parts may become loose.
Caution!
Do not dispose of the batteries in your household waste! Please take them to a battery collection point for
environmentally-friendly disposal.

Dear Genius Customer,
Fruits and vegetables are treated with pesticides, and other kinds of foods already have visible and invisible
mildew and bacteria on them when they are purchased - refrigerators are used for the storage of many different
kinds of foods which create many different kinds of odors. There is no circulating air inside the refrigerator, so
the bacteria can spread and the pesticides cannot dissipate.
The Genius Air PLUS helps on the basis of ionization technology: it generates negative ions which in turn clean
the air in your refrigerator, reducing all sorts of bacteria along with stale and foul odors. It makes sure that you
can keep foods fresh for longer and your refrigerator always smells fresh.
In addition, the Genius Air PLUS helps to reduce ethylene gas, a ripening agent, which causes fruit to decay and
vegetables to wilt, producing disagreeable odors.
Operation of the Genius Air PLUS and the monitoring of its many-sided functions is child’s play and possible at
all times with the integrated LED display.

Open the battery compartment at the base of the device by pulling the cover using the recessed grip and
remove the cover. Insert the four 1.5-volt batteries supplied (type AA, or similar) taking care to see that the
batteries are positioned as designated on the left and right sides of the battery compartment. Then close
the compartment, making sure that the plastic slides pass into their channels. Finally, press the cover closed
until it clicks into place. Please make sure to read the point “Attention”!
Press the ON/OFF switch to start the Genius Air PLUS. The LED display illuminates, the device starts to run
in factory preset mode “Low” and shows the current temperature.
When switched on, the device automatically checks the condition of the batteries. If they need to be ex-
changed, the battery control lamp will glow (see “battery control display”). If the lamp does not glow, then
the condition of the batteries is okay.
Press the ON/OFF switch again and the device switches off.
Monitoring the functions with the integrated LED display
The LED display illuminates blue for 5 seconds when any of the buttons are pressed.

If the device is in a working phase, during which the negative ions for disinfection and air-freshening are
distributed through the ventilation slots on the upper side of the device, the status display rotates as control
in the LED display.
The device switches into rest position between these working phases to conserve the batteries. The status
display remains static.
In switched on condition, press the mode button to switch between two operating modes:
Mode ”Low“: After turning on, the device runs constantly for about 20 minutes. Then the device switches
into rest position for 40 minutes, and then follows an automatic phase of disinfection and air-freshening
for 10 seconds every 60 minutes.
Mode ”High“: After turning on, the device runs constantly for about 30 minutes. Then the device
switches into rest position for 30 minutes, and then follows an automatic phase of disinfection and air-
freshening for 15 seconds every 60 minutes.
In the remaining time the device switches into rest position, to conserve the batteries.

„Super-Fresh“
The ambient temperature in the refrigerator is automatically measured by the Genius Air PLUS and shown in
the LED display. If the temperature falls below 0°C, then the minus-sign is automatically shown.
After putting the Genius Air PLUS into the fridge it can take several hours before the right temperature will
be displayed. Please keep in mind that the lower areas of a refrigerator are colder that upper areas because
warm air will rise up. When placed on the upper shelf of the refrigerator the temperatures in the lower
shelves can be several degrees colder than shown on the LED display.
The factory setting for the temperature display is in degrees Celsius. Press the temperature select button)
and the temperature display can be changed between either Celsius or Fahrenheit. The currently selected
temperature units are shown in the display by „°C“ or „°F“.
If there are fully-charged batteries inside the device, then the battery control lamp cannot be seen. When
the batteries in the device need to be exchanged, then a crossed-out battery symbol appears in the LED
display, which blinks every 5 seconds. To change the batteries, proceed as described in step 1. Take care to
see that the temperature of the housing corresponds to the room temperature (see “Caution“).
After exchanging the batteries the crossed-out battery symbol in the LED display disappears.
The Genius Air PLUS is equipped with a built-in light sensor. If the door of your refrigerator is open for more
than 60 seconds, then the device will call your attention with a non-stop warning signal. This warning signal
can be stopped by simply closing the refrigerator door. This way you never forget to close the refrigerator
door – and it saves you energy.
At the side of the base there is an alarm-slider, where the light sensor and thereby also the warning signal
can be de-activated (push slider to “OFF“ position) and also re-activated (push slider to “ON“ position).
Press the “S/F“ button to start the “Super Fresh“ mode. This is especially wise when new food is deposited
in the refrigerator, which may be contaminated with pollutants, bacteria or pesticides.
The Genius Air PLUS then begins with an additional neutralization sequence for a duration of 20 minutes. In
addition to being shown in the LED-Display, the blue “Super Fresh“ LED control light blinks every 2 seconds.
Press the “S/F“ button again and the sequence is stopped. Press once more, and a new 20-minute neut-
ralization sequence starts.
After each additional neutralization sequence the Genius Air PLUS automatically switches back into rest
position in the previously selected mode (”Low“ or ”High“).
In the base of the device there is a reset button. If for one reason or another, the device does not function
correctly, then lightly press the reset button once with a small, thin, pointed object. The Genius Air PLUS will
restart anew and function normally again.
Maintenance and cleaning
Only clean the unit with a moist cloth then dry thoroughly.
Do not use scouring pads, rough cloths/sponges or caustic cleaning agents.
